56-year-old Jeffery Soto says he drank three vodka martinis at a Broadway bar in downtown Nashville Friday night before getting behind the wheel of his vehicle with his wife as a passenger. An officer noticed him driving well under the speed limit on Interstate 40 just after 1 a.m., and he was crossing the lanes on the road. The officer initiated his emergency equipment, but instead of stopping, Soto drove one mile and then crashed into a retaining wall of exit ramp 52. He staggered out of the driver’s seat and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
