56-year-old Jeffery Soto says he drank three vodka martinis at a Broadway bar in downtown Nashville Friday night before getting behind the wheel of his vehicle with his wife as a passenger. An officer noticed him driving well under the speed limit on Interstate 40 just after 1 a.m., and he was crossing the lanes on the road. The officer initiated his emergency equipment, but instead of stopping, Soto drove one mile and then crashed into a retaining wall of exit ramp 52. He staggered out of the driver’s seat and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
Jeffery Soto of Saddlehorn Road in Amarillo, TX, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on April 15, charged with driving under the influence (DUI). A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
