UPDATE: Charges dropped against Husband, Wife released from DCS Custody — Cops had wrong birthdate

In a major update to the story we published yesterday about a refugee couple being separated by Metro Nashville Police, who charged the husband with felony statutory rape and committed the wife to DCS Custody, we have just learned that all charges are being dropped and the wife is being released from DCS custody. Metro Nashville Police say there was an error in determining her date of birth, which was actually in 2003, not 2006, making her 18-years-old, soon to be 19.

Man arrested after being kicked out of three downtown Nashville bars — Michael Costello

23-year-old Michael Costello was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail at security at Kid Rock’s Bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville informed police that Costello had been kicked out of two bars prior to being removed from their venue, and he continued to attempt to come back inside. Officers gave him the chance to walk away and go anywhere else, however, he refused and continued to argue that he was allowed inside.

Driver at Car Meet pulls gun on men who show “rubber testicles” & taunt drivers— Tyler Cobb

Police say Dakota Cummingham and Alex Morton Oneal admit to driving by a car meet of “street racers” on February 4th and holding a pair of rubber testicles toward the people in the crowd while yelling “this meet sucks” and “suck my truck nuts”. They say a red Camero pulled up to them and three males exited the car with guns pointed at them while the driver of the Camero pulled a handgun and chambered a round while telling them they were going to die that day. Police located the vehicle, with the driver, 20-year-old Tyler Cobb, still inside, two blocks away and took him into custody. Cobb also had an outstanding warrant from two weeks prior when he vandalized a car that stopped to take photos of him doing donuts in the middle of the roadway.

Tourist can’t pay the tab after friends leave him at downtown Nashville bar — Brandon Willard

27-year-old Brandon Willard, of North Carolina, was unable to pay his $496.00 tab at a downtown Nashville bar. The bartender says he continued to order drinks for himself and his friends on his tab, and then his friends left the bar. At closing time, he attempted to leave the bar without paying and stated he had no way to pay for the final tab when questioned by police. He was issued a citation for theft of services and was booked on that citation this week.

Birthday boy calls police on his girlfriend when he is “unable to handle” her — Jada Smith arrested

Steven Gates told police he had his girlfriend, 22-year-old Jada Smith, to his home Tuesday night for his “birthday celebrations”. He says Jada became “belligerently drunk” and began to argue, and he felt he was “unable to handle” the situation and called police for assistance and asked them to remove Jada from his home. Officers offered Jada a ride home multiple times or to even arrange a ride for her if she was uncomfortable riding with the police. She refused all offers of assistance, refused to leave, and eventually had to be separated from Mr. Gates as she was coming at him. As officers decided to place her into custody for trespass she fought them and tried kicking officers in the face. She refused to walk to the patrol car and had t be essentially carried, and then placed inside as she refused to get in the car.
