Officers asked where his car seat was, to which Winecoff said he would get it before asking why the child needed to be in one. His son told officers he was also not wearing a seatbelt when they asked Winecoff for his driver’s credentials, which he could not show. Officers then looked up his name on QMNI and discovered he did not have a valid driver’s license. Winecoff was detained for the suspicion of DUI, and a subsequent search led to officers finding a plastic baggie tied in a knot with what Winecoff later admitted was cocaine. He told officers there was a rifle in the car, and then they additionally found a glass pipe with burnt black residue in it. Winecoff was taken into custody for driving under the influence, simple possession, child endangerment, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and driving without a driver’s license.
