Brandon James charged after following ex-girlfriend around, sending her numerous threats

35-year-old Brandon James was seen stalking his ex-girlfriend, Calista Hodges, at the Family Safety Center on April 7th. When officers arrived, they made contact with security. Security stated that they observed James following Hodges to the mentioned location and engaging in an argument. Once Hodges entered, James attempted to follow behind her but was halted by security. Security separated the two and then took Hodges to a safe room. James stood at the door and occasionally looked through the glass door as if he were waiting for Hodges. After 30-45 minutes, security approached James again and allowed him inside to use the restroom, which he stayed in until police arrived. The entire situation was documented via surveillance cameras. Officers spoke to Hodges about the incident, and she provided them with text messages, videos, and emails of threats that she received from James. James was explicitly told multiple times in the messages to stop contacting her and to leave her alone. Hodges also stated that James drove by her house on several occasions. Hodges informed officers that James found her while she was on a date with a friend. When James saw her, he attempted to box her car in with his. Hodges approached him about his stalking-like behavior, but this only led to James grabbing her by the wrist. As James grabbed her, he caused multiple scratches on her wrist. James continued to follow Hodges throughout her day, including when she went home. That is when she decided to go to the Family Safety Center. Brandon James was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault and stalking.

Michael White Jr. caught peeing in dumpster while drunk on Broadway

45-year-old Michael Wayne White Jr. urinated in a dumpster near 3rd Avenue and Broadway around 5:35 p.m. on April 7th. Officers were driving when they observed a citizen pointing at White Jr. Officers then pulled over and approached him, who turned around and zipped up his fly. Officers then asked White Jr. to provide some form of identification, and he just stood there holding his credit cards after multiple requests. As officers spoke with White Jr., they noticed he showed numerous signs of impairment and reeked of alcohol. Officers deemed him unable to care for himself. White Jr. was taken into custody for public indecency and public intoxication.

Chena Zebari booked after failing to appear in court or pay the fines for multiple citations

33-year-old Chena Zebari was texting while driving without a seatbelt on Nolensville Pike in the early hours of January 4th, 2023. Officers observed this at a green light, conducted a traffic stop, and cited her for the violations that day. Zebari failed to pay her fines or appear in court by September 15th, 2023, so a warrant was issued for her arrest. Additionally, Zebari never finished paying her fees for a simple possession citation from December 2014. On April 7th, 2024, Zebari was booked on the citations for simple possession and driving with a cell device.

DUI: Caleb Serrano speeds down I-40 after drinking 3 pints of lager, thanks officers for stopping him

33-year-old Caleb Antonio Serrano was seen speeding at 85 mph in a 65-mph zone on I-40 in the early hours of April 7th. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop. Officers approached the passenger’s side and noticed Serrano reeked of alcohol. Officers had him exit his car for questioning, where he admitted to drinking “at least 3 pints of lager.” Then, Serrano took sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was detained. While being transported to booking, Serrano stated he did not even remember getting into his vehicle and then thanked the officers for stopping him. Serrano was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Taxi Driver Ghaly Naguib booked after hitting Rowdy Bus on Broadway

44-year-old taxi driver Ghaly Naguib was booked on the citation of reckless driving on April 3rd. On March 1st, officers were flagged down by the driver of the Rowdy Bus, who stated Naguib drove into the back of the bus and drove off. He provided them with the taxi’s license plate and a picture of the side of the cab. Later, officers located Naguib in the driver’s seat of his cab in front of Loser’s Bar on 4th Avenue South and spoke with him. Naguib told officers that the Rowdy Bus was stopped in the intersection, and it hit his car, so he drove around it to park, where officers found him. Officers reviewed surveillance, which showed Naguib in his cab at an angle towards the bus’s rear before it “rocked” back and forth. After that, it showed him driving into oncoming traffic on Broadway. After they investigated, they cited Naguib for the incident. Naguib was booked on the citation for reckless driving on April 3rd.

DUI: Cinnamon Gadson found lying on ground beside vehicle after crash on Memorial Drive

44-year-old behavioral analyst at The Perfect Child ABA Cinnamon Gadson was involved in a two-vehicle car accident in the Memorial Drive and French Street area on April 6th. Upon officers’ arrival, they observed Gadson lying on the ground on the other side of her vehicle, smelling strongly of alcohol. While speaking with Gadson, officers noted that it became apparent that she had consumed alcohol due to an empty container of alcohol and her slurred speech. Gadson consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. After being informed about implied consent, Gadson refused to provide a blood sample and was taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent.

Keon Smith drives his momma’s Nissan Altima, gets caught with 523 Grams of marijuana

21-year-old Keon Smith drove his mother’s Nissan Altima with heavily tinted windows into the parking lot in front of Kings Market Vape & Smoke Shop on Jefferson Street in the early hours of April 6th. Officers observed an individual exit the passenger side, enter the store, and return to the Altima before leaving, so they followed them and conducted a traffic stop on Underwood Street. After Smith parked the car, he and his passenger exited and started to distance themselves from the Nissan until officers began to speak with them. Smith told officers he was giving his friend a ride to the store. Smith’s family members started coming outside while the police were interviewing him, briefly interrupting their investigation. Then, officers discovered that Smith only possessed a learner’s permit. Shortly after, officers noticed a digital scale with single-use plastic bags in the cup holder of the Altima and a large bag of marijuana, which later weighed 138.1 grams, sitting on the backseat. Officers detained Smith and searched the rest of the Altima, where they located a bookbag with three large bags of marijuana weighing 207.2 grams, 133.0 grams, and 45.4 grams, as well as 12 individual-wrapped brownies. Officers seized a total of 523.7 grams of marijuana and $4,510 in US currency. Officers went to speak with the passenger and learned he was not involved in the sale of marijuana. Smith told them he was giving his “Cuz” a ride to the store. Smith was taken into custody for possession of Schedule VI with intent to sell, the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and driving a vehicle with tinted windows.

Joseph Enlow interferes with traffic by walking in the middle of the street downtown

58-year-old Joseph Enlow was seen walking in the middle of the 8th Avenue South and McGavock Street intersection on April 5th. When officers arrived at the mentioned location, they observed Multiple vehicles forced to move out of the way to avoid hitting him. Once stopped, Enlow provided law enforcement with his name and date of birth but refused to give any reason for his behavior in the street. Joseph Enlow was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.

John Wilcox throws beer from rooftop of Jason Aldean’s Bar

26-year-old John Wilcox threw a full beer can off the rooftop of Jason Aldean’s Bar late April 4th. Officers were walking through the parking lot between Jason Aldean’s and Broadway Brewhouse when they observed the can being thrown across the lot, smashing nearby, causing beer to splatter on them. Officers said a significant amount of alcohol came out of it while it traveled through the air. After this, they saw Wilcox duck down and move away on the rooftop.

Security for the establishment signaled to officers by flashing their flashlights at them and pointing at Wilcox. Security escorted him outside, where officers were waiting to detain him. He made random comments and admitted to throwing the beer. Additionally, officers reviewed surveillance, which showed the entirety of the incident. Wilcox was taken into custody for the assault of an officer and reckless endangerment.

Robert Ball threatens to kill family, punches wife in face multiple times because she has friends

24-year-old Robert Ball was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Amanda Ball, at the Marathon on Old Hickory Boulevard on April 7th. When officers arrived, they made contact with Amanda, who alleged that Robert assaulted her. Amanda told officers that while traveling on I-24 West, an argument began due to Robert being upset that she has friends. During the dispute, Robert told Amanda that he would kill her and their child in the back seat. Robert proceeded to punch Amanda in the left side of her face. After being struck, Amanda demanded that she and her child be let out of the car. That is when Robert stopped at the gas station. As Amanda gathered her belongings and her child out of the vehicle, Robert punched her in the face again. The incident was witnessed by two bystanders who corroborated Amanda’s statements. Robert fled the scene before officers arrived. Robert Ball was later taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.
