Israel Ayala-Roman calls officers “F*ggots”, tells them to take his cuffs off to fight him

39-year-old Israel Ayala-Roman was one of many individuals drinking beer, standing outside Klean Kutz Barbershop and Linbar Laundromat on Linbar Drive around 4:00 p.m. on March 31st. Officers observed this and told the individuals to leave the location. Ayala-Roman stood up, almost fell over, then bent over to pick up a box of beer, which officers told him not to. Officers noticed Ayala-Roman was visibly impaired and reeked of alcohol as he tried to walk away, so they asked him for his identification. Then, he stopped, shook his head, walked into the business, and sat in a seat, refusing to provide his information. Officers had a Spanish-speaking officer tell Ayala-Roman to leave the location, but he still refused. Officers deemed him a danger to himself or others and detained him. While at booking, Ayala-Roman started yelling at officers, calling them “f*ggots” repeatedly and telling them to take his cuffs off to fight him. Ayala-Roman was taken into custody for criminal trespass, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.

Glen Nolan pushes wife out of moving car

37-year-old Glen Louis Nolan had a domestic incident with his wife, Jessica Nolan while returning home to their Dry Creek Road residence on March 31st. Mrs. Nolan spoke to the police when they arrived, advising them that her husband had punched her multiple times in the face and pushed her out of his vehicle while it was going about five mph. Mrs. Nolan did not wish to prosecute him for the incident, but officers did so on her behalf due to her statement and visible injuries. Nolan was then taken into custody for reckless endangerment and domestic assault.

DUI: 18-Year-Old Mateus Alves crashes car, tells police he was “Distracted by his radio”

18-year-old Mateus Alves and his juvenile passenger were involved in a car accident near Green Hills Child Development on Belmont Boulevard in the early hours of March 30th. Alves’ passenger was transported to the hospital for her injuries. When officers arrived, Alves admitted he was the driver of the vehicle. Alves told officers that he was distracted by his radio, which caused the crash. Alves then asked officers the same questions repeatedly, exhibiting signs of impairment. Officers then asked if Alves would take sobriety tests. He consented, performed poorly, and agreed to provide a blood sample. Alves was transported to Nashville General and then taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Parker Glenn grabs officer’s gun during takedown

20-year-old Parker James Glenn tried to grab Officer Cheyenne Taylor’s gun during an altercation in his apartment at The Arbours of Hermitage late April 1st. Glenn had four outstanding warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, so officers went to his unit to conduct a warrant service. When they arrived, his mother answered the door and told them she would bring Glenn to the door. He came to the door and opened it about 4-5 inches. The officers then asked Glenn to step outside, but he refused and slammed the door, smashing Officer Foote’s finger and leaving it bruised and swollen. The door also hit Officer Taylor in the nose, causing it to bleed. Then, officers forced entry to apprehend him, during which he ran into his bedroom and became resistive. While he resisted, he reached for Officer Taylor’s gun, and he was detained. Glenn was taken into custody for evading arrest, resisting arrest, two counts of assaulting an officer, and four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Kaskile Yamungu recently booked for stealing $400 bike in 2020

23-year-old Kaskile Yamungu was booked on a citation of theft on April 2nd, 2024. In April 2020, Nickolaus Lytle called 911, stating that Yamungu had stolen a $400 bike from him. Officers then went to Chic-Fil-A on Charlotte Pike, where they located Yamungu riding the bike. Lytle arrived at the location and identified Yamungu as the bike thief for police. Yamungu was cited for the incident that day.

Williams Cateno follows ex-girlfriend to movie theater after learning she’s with another man

18-year-old Williams Alexander Cateno parked and left his car in the One Hundred Oaks Regal parking lot on March 31st. Cateno started pacing while on the phone and became irate. VUPD officers observed this and conducted a welfare check, asking if he needed assistance. While officers were trying to gather Cateno’s information, he was extremely uncooperative with providing his identity. Cateno told officers he followed his ex-girlfriend to the theater because she was at the movies with another guy. Officers explained to Cateno that he was detained and needed to identify him for more information, but he continued to disobey. Officers went to arrest him, during which Cateno pulled away and took off running. Officers later caught up to him after he dropped his phone on the ground. Officers then ran Cateno’s VIN and spoke with his mother, who confirmed his identity. After they towed his vehicle, Canteno was taken into custody for resisting arrest on April 1st.

DUI: Matthew Hathaway arrested after reporting robbery, tells police “I can’t drive”

40-year-old Matthew Hathaway was robbed near Broadway and 3rd Avenue in the early hours of April 2nd. When officers arrived, they located Hathaway, who advised he had flagged down one of their CFIT units after the robbery and was trying to get away. He added that he was drinking at the bars and stated, “I can’t drive” because of his intoxication level. After the officers finished investigating the robbery, they had Hathaway take sobriety tests, where he performed poorly. He then refused implied consent and was taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent.

Parent goes wild at McGavok Elementary: Joshua Quinn threatens to bring gun

38-year-old Joshua Edward Quinn had a dispute with his child’s principal, Rae Covey, and other staff members at McGavock Elementary on April 1st. When officers arrived, they were informed that Quinn had a history of being disruptive at the school, adding that he previously told them, “I do not want to have to bring my gun with me to drop my kid off.” They said a verbal disagreement escalated, prompting him to go past where he is allowed on school premises to his kid’s classroom, where he caused a disturbance, knocking on the door loudly. They said that after he was told to leave, he would go around the school to the other door attached to the classroom and start banging on it. Staff members said that Quinn would repeatedly go to areas where he was not allowed and that whenever they tried to explain his unacceptable behavior, he got irate, screamed, and left. Covey and the staff notified him via email, phone call, and certified mail that he placed them in fear and that there was zero tolerance for his presence at the school. Then, on April 1st, he went up to the school, telling Covey he would keep coming back and that his zero-tolerance proposal would be “non-negotiable.” Officers reviewed footage showing him arguing about the notice. Quinn was taken into custody for criminal trespass.

Jeffrey West Jr. rips up girlfriend’s birth certificate during argument

20-year-old Jeffrey West Jr. had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Anastacia Garza, at their Harpeth Valley Court residence on the night of April 1st. Officers responded to the location and were informed that Garza and West Jr. argued over their direct deposit. Then, he became upset with her and cut her McDonald’s work visor and foam box, ripped up her birth certificate, and damaged a pair of her blue light glasses. Officers spoke with West Jr., and he admitted to damaging her items. His cousin, Jennifer Smock, said she witnessed the incident. The value of her belongings was approximately $85. West Jr. was taken into custody for vandalism.

DUI: Andrea Strickland crashes on Bell Road after smoking weed from new dealer #ThatZa

39-year-old Andrea Strickland had a car accident on Bell Road early March 30th. Detectives went to the location and observed Brady Stelloh giving Strickland a sternum rub to help her breathe. Officers tried to wake her up, but she kept drifting in and out of sleep. When medics arrived, they placed her in the ambulance, where she had briefly awoken. Detectives tried to question her about the collision, but she couldn’t stay awake. The officers spoke to the other driver, Essam Girgis, who provided footage of the incident, showing Strickland turning onto Bell Road and suddenly stopping and hitting his vehicle, which caused him to hit the car in front of him. Officers returned to Southern Hills Hospital to speak with Strickland and the nurses. The nurses told them that she said she had smoked some marijuana from a new dealer before driving. Strickland then admitted that to officers, adding that she did not remember the crash. Strickland was taken into custody for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
