DUI: Matthew Hathaway arrested after reporting robbery, tells police “I can’t drive”

40-year-old Matthew Hathaway was robbed near Broadway and 3rd Avenue in the early hours of April 2nd. When officers arrived, they located Hathaway, who advised he had flagged down one of their CFIT units after the robbery and was trying to get away. He added that he was drinking at the bars and stated, “I can’t drive” because of his intoxication level. After the officers finished investigating the robbery, they had Hathaway take sobriety tests, where he performed poorly. He then refused implied consent and was taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent.

Matthew Hathaway of Nob S State Drive in Waterbury, VT, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on April 2nd, charged with DUI and implied consent. He was released on his own recognizance.
