34-year-old Joshua Watson was booked Wednesday after closing the door on his girlfriend’s ankle when she tried to leave the apartment on Hillside Court during an argument. Tami Lee told police that Watson blocked the door with his body, and when she finally got past him, he tried to shut the door to stop her from leaving and closed it on her ankle, leaving a laceration and bruising.
47-year-old Catherine Altorfer King was booked yesterday after telling police she was having a stroke while drunk in her Mercedes. An officer was on foot patrol at Nashville Internation Airport when he saw a black Mercedes parked with a female behind the wheel that appeared to be in distress. When the officer approached her, all she could tell him was that she was 47 and possibly having a stroke, so he called for an ambulance. As they spoke, the officer could smell alcohol coming from her and noticed her watery red eyes. When another officer arrived on the scene, Altorfer admitted to drinking two 16oz mocktails before driving. Nashville Fire arrived, and Altorfer refused medical assistance. She agreed to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. She agreed to the breathalyzer but gave three insufficient samples. During the search of her vehicle, police located an empty 16oz Clubtail can and two empty 12 oz bottles of Fireball.
23-year-old Connor Hart was booked Wednesday after trying to fight people and damaging property in the lobby of Kenect Nashville apartments. There were three emergency calls made in reference to Hart’s behavior. When police arrived, they saw damage to the lobby of the building. The victims did not wish to press charges but directed police to Hart, who was lying in the elevator shirtless, smelling of alcohol, and having large pupils. Officers asked him what he had taken, and he admitted to smoking weed with his friends. Police helped Mr. Hart up, and he was unsteady on his feet. He refused medical treatment and was taken into custody.
27-year-old Joseph Waid was booked Wednesday after drunkenly falling down a wooded embankment. He was checked out by a medic unit and refused to be transported to medical care, pulling on door handles to get out of the vehicle. Police smelled alcohol coming from his breath, and he slurred as he spoke with them, making it difficult to understand. He was taken into custody and transported to booking.
28-year-old Spencer Still, a cashier at Walmart, was jailed Wednesday after stealing approximately $5,400 from the store. Police spoke with a loss prevention employee who informed them that Still admitted stealing multiple gift cards and cash of various amounts from March 2023 to May 2023. Still told police the gift cards were for Nintendo, Xbox, Apple, and PlayStation.
21-year-old Fort Campbell soldier Bradley Cheek is now charged with the rape of a Nashville woman who he was seeing while his wife is pregnant. We covered Cheek in April when he strangled his ex-girlfriend and now rape victim, telling her, “I’m 170lbs of pure muscle, and if I wanted to, I could destroy you.” Prior to that, we covered him in July 2022 when he assaulted his wife. 18-year-old Cierra Brown is charged with the assault of downtown musician Sarah Wortham. Wortham was pulling her music equipment along 4th Ave just before midnight on April 28. Brown was driving by and began to honk as she was partially in the roadway. Wortham struck the hood of Brown’s car with her hand and continued to walk away onto the sidewalk. Brown exited her vehicle and followed Wortham, and came up from behind and hit her in her upper body, knocking her down onto the sidewalk. The victim required medical treatment, including multiple stitches to her forehead. Brown fled the scene but was identified by a surveillance camera on 4th Ave North which captured the assault.
29-year-old Victoria Grissom was found driving around a private construction site on Adams Street late Tuesday night, and on-site security observed her driving into a closed gate and around the site. She appeared to be intoxicated and was detained until Metro Nashville Police could arrive. She admitted to having one cocktail and one shot of tequila before driving. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.161% BAC on a breathalyzer, twice the legal limit.
21-year-old Christian Tyler is a manager at the McDonald’s on Broadway in downtown Nashville. Two weeks ago, he abruptly stopped showing up for work. At that same time, Grayco Management noticed multiple discrepancies in the store’s cash deposits made between April 7 and April 30. After reviewing security footage, Tyler was observed on four separate occasions concealing cash into his waistband instead of placing it into the Loomis safe. The total amount of the missing money was determined to be $5,589. The management company left him multiple messages to return the money, and he eventually blocked their number and never returned to work.
44-year-old Joseph Glapion was jailed Saturday afternoon after cursing at a Southwest Airlines gate agent when he was denied boarding. Police responded to Nashville International Airport for a passenger who was too drunk to board. They observed Glapion yelling and cursing at the gate agent. Police could smell alcohol coming from him as he refused to leave after several opportunities were given and was eventually placed under arrest.
