57-year-old Paul Landon Armstrong swerved in his GMC pickup truck near White Bridge Pike and Woodmont Boulevard around 10:44 p.m. on April 24th. After he crossed the double yellow line, officers conducted a traffic stop, where they approached the passenger side and noticed he reeked of alcohol. Armstrong then stated he had drank two beers at an unknown location on Centennial Boulevard before going to Waffle House. Armstrong consented to sobriety tests and showed multiple signs of impairment. Then, after being read implied consent, he did not tell officers if he refused or agreed to provide a sample and requested to call an attorney.
