Zaky Fawzy ignores police, yells racial slurs at Lyft driver

47-year-old Zaky Fawzy, a taxicab driver, was on Almond Street in September when he got out of his vehicle and walked up to Latonya White’s, a Lyft driver, car and hit her window, startling her. White asked him why he had banged on her window, and he told her that she was blocking traffic. She continued to wait for her passenger after she asked Fawzy not to hit her window, then he reapproached the vehicle, threatening to call the police, and she responded,” Ok, I’ll be right here when they arrive.” The incident escalated when Fawzy and his passenger both told White to move out of the way. Fawzy then began to use racial slurs, causing her to fear for her safety, so she canceled her passenger and left the area before notifying officers. Fawzy was identified via photo lineup after being pulled over on Broadway for an unrelated traffic violation in the early hours of November 19th. Officers were conducting foot patrols when they observed Fawzy using his cell phone while driving. After noticing the officers, he tried to put his phone down, disregarding their signals to stop, and attempted to speed off but was at a red light. Fawzy became belligerent and started yelling when officers asked him to provide his license, registration, and proof of insurance. Officers advised him why he was being pulled over, but he insisted that he did nothing wrong and continued refusing to comply. Fawzy was taken into custody for failure to comply with an order and was additionally charged with assault regarding the incident with White.

Nancy King hits neighbor with phone multiple times during dispute

37-year-old Nancy King was taken into custody on November 13th for assaulting her neighbor, Stephanie Chavez, at Byrum Avenue. Chavez advised officers that King “hit her across the head multiple times with her phone.” Officers were told the argument started over a parking issue regarding a Nashville soccer game. Chavez had visible injuries on her face and was transported to Skyline Medical for treatment. King spoke with officers and told them Chavez was walking on her property, arguing with her over the parking issue, getting in her face and touching her, which escalated the altercation. Murihano Espoir, a witness, stated that King and Chavez were arguing before punches were thrown and that King was the initial instigator. Espoir provided a video showing them punching each other before King started to hit her in the head with her phone numerous times. Chavez wished to prosecute.

Ethan Shaddon tries fighting multiple people on Broadway

22-year-old Ethan Shaddon was jailed Saturday morning after officers were flagged down to the area of 4th Avenue and Broadway due to what sounded like an individual attempting to fight others in the area. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Shaddon had punched Ashley Cottongim on the side of her head. She advised police that there were other victims that Shaddon had assaulted; however, they were not located.

Megan Sutton assaults guests, breaks into cabin at Nashville RV Park over feral kittens

36-year-old Megan Sutton was jailed Thursday morning after assaulting guests at the Nashville RV park where she works. Mr. Victor Motley and Ms. Zara Vecino-Domenech told police that they discovered two feral cats living on the property and asked the employees if they could adopt and find a home for them. They received permission and took the kittens into their possession. When Sutton discovered the kittens had been claimed, she confronted the victims at their cabin and entered without permission, demanding to know where the kittens were. She demanded the two hand the kittens over. She picked up one of the kittens that ran out while the door was open and shoved Ms. Vecino into a chair on the deck, injuring her hip. At that point, Mr. Motley demanded Ms. Sutton to leave. Officers observed a huge bruise on Ms. Vecino’s hip when they arrived, coinciding with their story. Sutton told police that she knew the kittens were feral and didn’t belong to her; however, she was the one putting food out for them. She also denied the assault and claimed that she was pushed. Sutton had no visible injury and was taken into custody.

Ashley Guntherm assaults girlfriend’s ex-husband in Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital

39-year-old Ashley Guntherm was being aggressive towards Robert Snyder, her girlfriend’s ex-husband, at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital on the afternoon of November 15th. Snyder advised officers he was up there for a follow-up visit for his son when he noticed Guntherm enter the double doors. Then, Snyder stated that Guntherm shoulder-checked him up against the doors, causing him to injure his right shoulder and his left arm. Officers were able to confirm this through footage, and Guntherm was taken into custody for assault.

DUI: Tydus Boner fights sister’s boyfriend after car accident

21-year-old Tydus Boner was involved in an altercation with his sister’s boyfriend, Serbando Galarza, on Shelby Street. On November 12. Boner was arguing with Nashville Fire Department personnel when officers arrived. Witnesses advised officers that Boner got out of a blue Mustang and began arguing with Galarza, who was in the black Mustang. They stated that Galarza was parked at the red light and tried to drive away from Boner, which caused him to run a red light, leading to a car accident with another vehicle that continued through the intersection. This caused Boner to become angry with Galarza because his sister was in the black Mustang with him during the collision, so he ran up to him and punched him several times in the face, leaving him with a black eye. Boner admitted to consuming liquor shots and a Bloody Mary at Jason Aldean’s Bar with his sister and Galarza before the incident. Police observed Boner to be visibly intoxicated as they found out that he did not have a valid Driver’s License. Boner told them that someone with a valid license was driving, but the alleged person denied being in the vehicle. Boner was Mirandized, read implied consent, and refused sobriety tests before being taken into custody for assault, driving under the influence, implied consent, and driving without a license.

Lisa Thach prevents customer from leaving East Nail Bar; charged with assault

56-year-old Lisa Thach was involved in an altercation at her job, East Nail Bar, with customer April Taylor on October 12th. Taylor spoke with officers and advised them that she was getting her nails done, and Thach kept messing them up and restarting the process. After almost two hours, Taylor was tired of Thach’s attempts to fix her nails and decided to leave. Thach reportedly kept reaching for Taylor’s hands so she could keep working on them despite being told not to, and when Taylor left the salon, Thach followed her and “grabbed” her at Suite 1. Taylor let officers know that she wished to prosecute. Lisa Thach was taken into custody for assault on November 1st.

Koby Halley charged with public intoxication and assaulting a police officer after drunken brawl

44-year-old Koby Halley was booked Friday Morning after assaulting a man on Demonbreun Street. Jay Marlar told police that Haley pushed him into a ground-level window. Marlar tried to leave, but Halley grabbed him by his chest. Marlar kicked Halley in the face to try to get away, causing a cut to his face. Video footage corroborated the victim’s account of events. While the police spoke with Halley, they noticed he was visibly drunk and unable to answer simple questions. It was clear he couldn’t care for himself and presented a danger to others. As police tried to arrest Halley he resisted and kicked an officer in the chest.

Musician Paige Christine Brumm “hammer punches” bouncer on head on Broadway

22-year-old “Paige Christine” Brumm was booked on October 27th for a citation issued on October 5th regarding an assault at Honkytonk Central in downtown Nashville. On 10/5, officers spoke with George Kerhoulas, an Honkytonk Central employee, who stated that Brumm became upset when he told her to throw her drinks away when exiting the club, and she struck him on the top of his head with a “hammer fist” as people exited the bar. Jullianou Palermo, another staff member, also witnessed the assault.

Robert Thurman charged after tossing beer through vehicle window onto occupants

35-year-old Robert Thurman was booked this week on an outstanding citation from October 1, charging him with assault. Skylar Goodman says he was traveling near 5th & Broadway when he honked his horn to help facilitate traffic to move along. Thurman then threw a beer at Goodman’s window, which was open, and the beverage doused Goodman and his passenger. During an interview, Thurman admitted to assaulting Goodman with the beer and that he had “made a mistake.”
