Mark McCormack, 67, charged with 2nd DUI after West Nashville crash

Police say 67-year-old Mark McCormack could not stand up on his own and had to be propped up by officers during questioning after he crashed his car into a tree Thursday evening in West Nashville. He refused all medical treatment and sobriety testing but did admit to drinking “five large mixed drinks” prior to driving. A search of his vehicle revealed an open bottle of Skol vodka, partially consumed. McCormack was previously convicted of a DUI in 2017 in Dickson County.

FedEx driver Christopher Burt charged after reportedly threatening to beat up a man

Samuel Hill says 55-year-old FedEx driver Christopher Burt blocked part of the road on Old Hickory Blvd in February, causing him to become upset. The two got into an argument over the parking location, and Samuel says he was in fear of being assaulted when Burt reportedly threatened to “beat him up.” Police arrived and issued Burt a citation, charging him with assault/fear of bodily injury. He was booked this week.

Valet charged in theft of Escalade from Element Hotel — Jamecyn Bowen

Police say 19-year-old Jamecyn Bowen was working as a valet at the Element Hotel in Nashville on February 17 when he parked the 2022 Cadillac Escalade of a guest at 8:05 p.m. Just over two hours later, an unknown person walked directly to the Escalade and drove it to the gate of the garage, where Bowen used his key card to swipe at the gate allowing the Escalade to exit. Bowen never returned to work after that night, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was booked on that warrant this week, which charged him with facilitation of theft of property. The vehicle was valued at $80,000.

Elijah Mann charged in targeted assault of Walmart employee Shambria Batey

18-year-old Elijah Mann was booked this week on an outstanding assault warrant from August. Police say Elijah Mann and Robbyn Black entered the Dickerson Pike Walmart on August 16 and located employee Shambria Batey, who was stocking shelves. Store security video shows the two punch and kick the victim and pull her around by her hair. A video of the assault was also posted on the Instagram account of ‘MyaaDaPlug’ and saved for detectives before it was removed. The victim only knew the first names of her assailants, but a teacher at W.A. Bass school was able to positively identify them, as did the victim later in a photo line-up.

Ahmed Bader stashes two pounds of marijuana after fender bender; flees the scene

Police say 19-year-old Ahmed Bader was involved in an automobile crash in Antioch, and instead of stopping to exchange information, he drove his black Infiniti into the parking lot of the Knights Inn and hid two pounds of marijuana and a pistol behind a conex box. He then drove to the Target parking lot and got into the passenger side of another vehicle, which drove away. Unmarked cars were able to follow the silver Chrysler to Craftwood Drive, where he was taken into custody. $500 in cash was recovered from his wallet in small bill denominations.

Purported Bail Bondsman posing as police officer makes traffic stop in Nashville

22-year-old Angel Carrera was driving a black Crown Vitoria and wearing black BDU-style pants with a black polo shirt, and a handgun on his hip, when he activated the light bar on top of his vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near 100 Oaks Mall on March 1. He approached the vehicle, which was driven by a Metro Nashville government employee. He then explained the driver pulled out too far into the intersection and stated, “there are lines for a reason, and they needed to be abided by!” He then chastised them for not following the law and to not repeat their mistake. As he turned to walk away, the driver inquired if he was a Metro Nashville Police Officer, and he stated, “no,” he was a bail bondsman. He was identified by a photo taken of his license plate, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was booked on that warrant this week.

Jeffrey Wright Bawitdaba Bawitdaba Booted from Kid Rock’s Bar in Nashville

49-year-old Jeffrey Wright was kicked out of Kid Rock’s bar in downtown Nashville late Saturday evening due to his unruly behavior toward other patrons. After being escorted outside, Wright continued to attempt to regain entry and became belligerent with security. He began to yell and scream at Metro Nashville Police officers when they arrived, too, and he was taken into custody and transported to booking.
