DUI: Cameron Kiser drinks before going 60 in a 35-mph zone

28-year-old Cameron Kiser was driving erratically on 1st Avenue North in the late hours of December 15th. Officers observed this and saw him make a wide turn, following the car in front of him too closely, merging into the next lane without signaling, and accelerating 60 mph in a 35-mph zone. They initiated a traffic stop and noticed Kiser was highly inebriated as they approached the driver’s side. He admitted to having two alcoholic beverages before driving, consented to sobriety tests, and performed poorly. Kiser was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: James Judge drinks Voodoo Ranger IPA while driving

35-year-old James Judge was involved in a car accident on James Robertson Parkway on November 14th. Judge had wrecked into the back of a parked vehicle, and officers located an open Voodoo Ranger IPA in his car. Officers observed Judge to be visibly intoxicated as he admitted to drinking two beers and having one while driving. James consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Steven Strickland jailed after passing out behind the wheel of a vehicle

42-year-old Steven Strickland was passed out in his running vehicle on October 26th. When police arrived, the vehicle was off as Strickland spoke with medics. The medics advised officers that Strickland was having difficulty answering questions but was coherent. He was visibly intoxicated and admitted to medics that he had been drinking earlier. He then admitted to officers that he had “three beers a couple of hours ago.” He was hesitant to perform sobriety tests but eventually agreed, performed poorly, and was taken into custody.

Jarred Gigliotti crashes scooter into bus which runs over his wife’s hand

On the afternoon of September 29th, Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Demonbreun Street and 8th Avenue South regarding an accident. Upon arrival, officers observed 34-year-old Jarred Gigliotti holding the hand of his passenger, his wife, due to injuries she sustained as their scooter crashed into a WeGo Transit bus. He became irate once medics started to help the passenger and attempted to confront the driver of the MTA Bus before being stopped by an Officer and a bystander. Gigliotti began to walk away as Officers were gathering his information and showed visible signs of intoxication.

Officers witnessed Gigliotti punch a wall and try to confront the driver again before trying to get onto a scooter to go to the hospital with his wife. Gigliotti was detained and placed into a patrol car for safety issues while Officers gathered more information from witnesses regarding the incident. Officers were told that the bus driver attempted to slow down and merge into the left lane but was unable due to traffic and as the bus tried to avoid Gigliotti and his wife, the mirror of the bus clipped his wife, knocking them off the scooter before the bus ran over her hand. Gigliotti was read his Miranda rights before agreeing to speak with Officers. He admitted to being in control of the scooter and consuming 5 12oz. beers at Jason Aldean’s Bar. Officers had probable cause to believe Gigliotti was operating a vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, and after obtaining a sample of blood, he was transported to booking for Aggravated Vehicular Assault.

Nathan Justus charged with DUI on scooter in downtown Nashville

26-year-old Texan Nathan Justus crashed a scooter he was riding on 10th Ave South Wednesday night and was being treated by medics when Metro Nashville Police responded to the scene. Justus stated he was leaving a sushi restaurant where he consumed “one beer.” He then remembered that before the restaurant, he was on Broadway and consumed two shots of whiskey and two more beers. During the crash, he fell to the ground, hitting his head, arm, stomach, and knee, and while on the ground, he became light-headed and passed out. Despite all of that, Justus refused all medical transport and further treatment. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and was transported to booking, where he later blew a 0.089% BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: Tourist Scott Nobles crashes scooter into cop car in downtown Nashville

41-year-old California tourist Scott Nobles was jailed on April 13th after crashing his scooter into the back of an unmarked Metro Police vehicle near 5th and Demonbreun in downtown Nashville. Officers saw Nobles unsteady on his feet and smelled alcohol on him. They asked him if he had anything to drink, and he admitted to drinking a couple of beers and refused to answer any more questions. Nobles refused all testing, and was transported to booking.

DUI: Ivoree Lee says he got so high at Buds & Brews he couldn’t drive home

23-year-old Ivoree Lee says he was at Buds & Brews, Nashville’s Cannabis Bar and Restaurant, Friday night, where he smoked “enough” and was so “high” that he went outside and got behind the wheel of his vehicle in an attempt to “sleep it off” before driving. He states he only had “a sip” of his girlfriend’s drink. When officers arrived he had watery eyes which were bloodshot, and he almost fell asleep during their interaction. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI as he was behind the wheel with the key in his possession.

Wild Beaver leads to fight between Jordan Votruba & wife

34-year-old Jordan Michael Votruba was with his wife, Ashley Votruba, at the Wild Beave in downtown Nashville when the couple was kicked out of the bar due to a disturbance. As they were walking back to the Courtyard by Marriott hotel, his wife walked ahead of him to show her frustration with him. She was far enough ahead that a group of men asked if she was lost, and as Jordan caught up, he heard their conversation and pushed her, causing officers to be flagged down, and everyone went about their night. After arriving at their hotel, the argument re-ignited. Jordan reportedly grabbed the back of his wife’s neck, slamming her into the counter, leaving a bruise on her chin, which was documented by officers. Against his will, Vortruba was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Cheer Coach Greg Shannon charged with late-night DUI in downtown Nashville

Police say 41-year-old Cheer Coach Gregory Shannon blew through a stop sign at 4th & Harrison in downtown Nashville late Friday night. Officers conducted a traffic stop and report that Shannon smelled of alcohol. Shannon claimed the officer was just smelling a Halls cough drop, and not alcohol, because he hadn’t consumed any. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and during them, one of his female friends approached the scene. When questioned, the woman stated that Shannon had indeed been drinking. He then admitted to drinking “a beer” before driving. Shannon was transported to booking and charged with DUI.
