DUI: Soldier Preston Johnson says he took extra Seroquel; pipe & Fentanyl found in wallet

20-year-old 68W Army Combat Medic Preston Johnson was jailed Wednesday night after causing an accident near Sevier Street in the Shelby Park area. He told police that as he was driving his white Nissan Sentra on Davidson Street, his power steering went out, and he had to swerve out of his lane to avoid a car that cut him off. Officers could smell the odor of alcohol coming from his breath, and he had to lean against the patrol vehicle to keep himself up. He explained that he took sleeping pills earlier that day but consumed no alcohol. He fell asleep while standing, and officers had to keep him from falling over. When the police asked him if he was okay, he said that he had not taken his sleeping medication in a long time, so he took two because he had worked a 24-hour shift the night before. During a search incident to arrest, police found a crack pipe and a brown baggie containing approximately one gram of crushed powder inside his wallet. Johnson told police that the powder was his prescribed sleeping medication; however, once tested, the powder tested positive for Fentanyl.

Noah Nicholas: armed and intoxicated in downtown Nashville

On September 27th, Officers responded to a person with a weapon call on 7th and Broadway. 40-year-old Noah Nicholas’s description was put out as a BOLO and was identified by an off-duty Officer. A fully loaded Smith and Wesson with one in the chamber was found on Nicholas’s person when he was frisked by Officers. Paul Siegel told Officers that he was working security when Nicholas came from behind him and reached for Siegel’s weapon. Siegel turned around to confront Nicholas, and then Nicholas lifted his shirt, showing his holstered weapon, stating, “I got one too.” He proceeded to point his fingers at Siegel as if it were a gun. Siegel stated that he felt as if Nicholas was going to use a weapon against him. When Officers arrived, Nicholas was being aggressive and threatening them. They observed Nicholas to be visibly impaired.

Eric Beckman charged with DUI after having ‘a few beers’ at a bar before driving

58-year-old Eric Beckman was following a vehicle too close in a Toyota Camry on I-24 with the high beams on while doing 85 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to police. Officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted Eric, with the inside of the vehicle smelling strongly of alcohol. Police described Eric as having signs of intoxication, and he admitted to having a few beers at a bar before driving home. After he performed poorly on sobriety tests, he gave a breath sample yielding a .089% BAC.

Tanya Barnes had “two drinks” at TNT’s bar before DUI arrest

52-year-old Tanya Barnes was observed traveling at over 70 miles an hour on Briley Pkwy, in a 55 mph zone, on September 27th. While driving, she had trouble maintaining her lane, crossing over the fog line, and fluctuating her speeds. She was stopped on Briley Pkwy around the mile marker, with an odor of alcohol on her breath and watery eyes. Tanya admitted to drinking two drinks at TNT Sports bar before heading home and performed poorly on sobriety tests. When she provided a breath test for the police, it showed her having a .15% BAC.

DUI: Water Green crashes into pole after leaving strip club & drinking Hennessy

30-year-old Water Green fell asleep at the wheel before hitting a telephone pole at Chestnut St. and 2nd Ave on September 25th. When police spoke to him, he told them about the incident and said that he was injured by the airbags being deployed. When he displayed signs of intoxication, police asked him if he had been drinking that night. He told police that he had four double shots of Hennessy at a strip club but could not remember which club. Police had him perform sobriety tests, which showed more signs of intoxication, and he was taken to the hospital to provide a blood sample being being booked into jail.

Designated driver Andres Botello charged with DUI after downtown Nashville crash

23-year-old Andres Botello spoke to police after they responded to a vehicle crash on James Robertson Pky on September 24th. He said he was driving down Rosa L Parks Blvd when a car cut him off, and he lost control of the vehicle, attempting to avoid an accident. Police reported that his vehicle caused a large crash scene, stretching the full length of the intersection, and Andres struck a curb at a high speed. With bloodshot eyes and unsteady on his feet he told police that he was a designated driver for his friends. He said he was dropping them off after they were on Broadway, but he only had one beer and mixed drink earlier. Police asked him to perform sobriety tests, he agreed and showed signs of intoxication. Andres agreed to provide a breath sample, yielding a 0.178% BAC.

Kelsey Musick charged with DUI after driving without a tire

35-year-old Kelsey Musick was the driver of a vehicle blocking traffic on Conference Drive near State Auto on September 22nd. Police noticed the vehicle had a front driver-side tire missing, and the back driver-side tire was deflated. Also, a long engraved line was in the roadway leading up to Kelsey’s vehicle. At this time, a woman came up and told police that she believed that the driver, Kelsey, was intoxicated. Police found Kelsey next to the vehicle, unsteady on her feet and with the odor of alcohol emitting from her breath. Kelsey performed poorly on the sobriety tests, and she agreed to provide a blood sample. Police transported her to General Hospital for a blood draw and then to booking.

DUI: Conor Coleman says he had “25 drinks” prior to crashing his vehicle

21-year-old Conor Coleman told police he had “25 alcoholic beverages” late Friday night before they found him crashed in his vehicle on Sylvan Heights at 8:45 a.m. Saturday. He elaborated that the drinks were a mixture of beer and vodka before deciding he no longer wanted to speak to officers. He refused all testing and was taken into custody, charged with driving under the influence.

Sydney Kendall jailed after tossing bottles at Play Dance Bar, kicking officer in groin at booking

27-year-old Sydney Kendall was at Play Dance Bar on Church Street in the early hours of Saturday morning when she left the club, got into her vehicle, and began to throw liquor bottles from her car toward other vehicles in the parking lot. Security altered MNPD, who approached Kendall, causing her to put the car in reverse in an attempt to flee. She eventually stopped the vehicle, exited, and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Though initially agreeing to take a breathalyzer, once she was at booking she refused to comply with any testing. As she returned from the breathalyzer room, Kendall became irate and shoved officers. She dropped to the floor, kicked one officer in the groin, and pulled on their gear as she was being held against the wall.

DUI: Tabatha Perry says she only smoked marijuana before having to be revived with Narcan

38-year-old Tabatha Perry was booked on a citation from August 28th after running off the road and hitting a metal guardrail on the shoulder of I-40 near Old Hickory Boulevard. When police responded to the crash, they found Perry unconscious in the driver’s seat of her Dodge Caravan. She was shallowly breathing, and her skin was purple. Police administered a dose of Narcan in an attempt to revive her. Once awoken, she was transported to Centennial Hospital for medical attention. Police interviewed Perry at the hospital, where she told them that she smoked a joint at her mother’s house before taking her to Vanderbilt and that she hadn’t had much sleep within the past 24 hours, which is why she dozed off while driving and hit the guardrail. Perry consented to field sobriety tests, but only one could be performed due to her being in the hospital bed.
