DUI: Brandon Matute jailed after crashing into utility pole

22-year-old Brandon Matute was involved in a car accident in the early morning hours of October 30 on Briley Parkway. As the officers arrived, Matute told them another vehicle got in his way, causing him to crash into a telephone pole. Officers noticed the smell of alcohol on Matute’s breath as he admitted to having two beers, and when asked to perform sobriety tests, he replied, “It depends.” Matute reiterated that the wreck was not his fault, and he was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence and was later charged with not having a valid driver’s license when officers tried to verify his identity.

Henry Flores-Marroquin charged with DUI after Antioch crash

26-year-old Henry Flores-Marroquin was jailed Sunday morning after causing a wreck on Bell Road. When officers arrived on the scene, Henry explained that as he was driving, another party pulled out in front of him, causing him to wreck. Officers noticed Henry had bloodshot eyes and was being very repetitive. He admitted to having two drinks and consented to sobriety tests. He performed poorly, and his vehicle was searched. Officers located several opened containers in the driver’s side door, floorboards, and passenger’s side floorboard. Henry was arrested and transported to booking, where he was charged with DUI.

Ebony Maldonado admits to slapping her boyfriend in the face “a few times”

22-year-old Ebony Maldonado was jailed on April 3rd after slapping her boyfriend and father of her children, Efren Granados, in the face. Efren told police that he and Ebony had an argument over family matters, so he went outside, and she followed him. The argument escalated when Ebony pulled on his shirt, pulled his hair, and slapped him in the face several times. Police asked Ebony what happened, and she admitted to “slapping him in the face a few times.” Ebony was determined the primary aggressor and transported to booking.

Charlie Boyer arrested after refusing to leave a downtown Nashville store

28-year-old Charlie Boyer was jailed on March 31st after he refused to leave the premises of a store near 12th Avenue S and Broadway. Officers were working on a lane closure and went to a nearby business for a meal break, where they were flagged down by an employee and told that Boyer was refusing to leave. Police also asked Boyer to leave and told him the employee didn’t want him around the store. Boyer told police that he was not from the area. Police told Boyer that he would be arrested for trespassing if he didn’t leave, but he still refused and was arrested for criminal trespassing.

Aakash Vasireddy charged with DUI after rolling his vehicle on I-24

23-year-old Aakash Vasireddy was jailed on April 2nd after driving drunk into an exit sign on I-24 and rolling his car over. Police asked him what had happened, and he said he was driving too fast and had lost control. Police could smell alcohol coming from his breath as they spoke to him and asked if he had anything to drink. He admitted he had a few beers and was asked to participate in sobriety testing, which he agreed to and performed poorly on. He could not stand without swaying and consented to a breathalyzer which came back as .141% BAC.

DUI: Janett Walkoff Crawford blows 0.228% BAC after crash

36-year-old Janett Walkoff Crawford was jailed on March 21st after crashing into private property on Shihmen Drive. When officers arrived on the scene, Janett declined medical attention. Police asked her what caused the wreck, and she said that she just took a wide turn and wasn’t sure what else had happened. Janett was swaying back and forth while standing, and police could smell alcohol coming from her breath. She consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. She agreed to the breathalyzer, and it read .228% BAC — nearly three times the legal limit.

Rohan Richards tries to cut off wife’s ear when he’s accused of cheating

37-year-old Rohan Richards was jailed on Mar 19th after allegedly attempting to cut his wife’s ear off. Faith Lavender told police that an argument had started because she believed her husband was cheating on her. The argument escalated, and Ms. Lavender asked Mr. Richards to leave several times. Instead of leaving, Mr. Richards picked up a knife and attempted to cut off his wife’s ear. He then hit her head on a wall and strangled her. The only visible injuries were scratch marks on her forearm. Mr. Richards was asked what happened and initially refused to provide a statement. After being told the consequences, he admitted an argument occurred, but nothing physical took place. He stated, “whatever she said I did, I did.” He was taken into custody and transported to booking.

DUI: Cainan Gatewood found asleep behind the wheel of his Jeep at an intersection

38-year-old Cainan “Kang Libra” Gatewood was charged with DUI early Monday morning after officers found him passed out at an intersection in his Jeep on Perimeter Hill Drive. Officers knocked on the window to wake him and asked him to step out of the vehicle. When Gatewood wood stepped out, he immediately braced himself and leaned up against the driver’s side door. He had watery/glassy eyes and alcohol on his breath. There was an open alcoholic beverage sitting in the cup holder within arm’s reach. He agreed to do sobriety testing, but officers had him stop before completion due to his level of intoxication; it was unsafe. A search within the vehicle revealed a baggie of meth.

Jordan Cowart had the ability to avoid jail, just not the common sense

30-year-old Jordan Cowart was in a confrontation with security at The Valentine bar in the early hours of Saturday morning that continued to escalate. Metro Nashville Police arrived and asked Cowart just to walk away, which he initially did. He then walked to officers and continued to argue, and walked away a second time. After approaching security a third time and screaming profanities at them, Cowart was told he was under arrest and began to pull away from officers. While en route to booking, Cowart was talking to himself and yelling at people who were not present.

Hudson Harrell charged with DUI, wants to take more tests, blows double legal limit

Police say 22-year-old Hudson Harrell crashed his 2016 Infiniti Q50 on I-24 in the early hours of Monday morning after drinking in downtown Nashville. He told police he was “unsure” how his car ended up in a ditch but stated he consumed “1-2 drinks” prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and after he was under arrest, he repeatedly asked to take more tests. Once at booking, they granted his wish with a breathalyzer, on which he blew a 0.180% BAC, more than double the legal limit to drive.
