18-year-old Prentice Hill steals over $1,000 from Dollar General, tells police he “borrowed some money”

18-year-old Prentice Hill, a cashier at the Dollar General on Bell Road, was jailed on January 4th after the location manager reported he had been stealing. Rebecca Bradford advised that Hill had activated multiple gift cards without paying. The incident occurred on December 23rd. when Hill rang up and activated eight different gift cards as being paid with cash but never put any money in the register. The total amount of the transaction was $1080.05. There is also video footage of the theft. Hill told officers he had some “stuff” going on and “borrowed some money from the store.”

Timothy Smith caught with 3 grams of marijuana in his Dodge Dart

40-year-old Timothy Smith was booked on a citation from September 12th, 2023, when officers observed him make a left turn without a turn signal. Police pulled over his black 2014 Dodge Dart at the Mapco on Linbar Drive and smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. When the police asked Smith why his vehicle smelt like marijuana, he admitted to smoking earlier in the day. Police conducted a search that yielded approximately three grams of marijuana located in front of the gear shifter, along with plastic baggies in the glove box. Timothy Smith was taken into custody on January 4th.

Jonathan Cormack hides in closet from police after violating bond conditions

44-year-old Jonathan Cormack was jailed on January 4th when officers discovered he had bond conditions preventing him from being with his wife after being arrested for a prior domestic incident in Williamson County. The police were on the scene investigating a separate call for service. They asked Cormack’s wife if they could search her home for Jonathan and found him hiding in a closet. Cormack was taken into custody on January 4th.

DUI: Joseph Calica drives vehicle into light pole, denies he was driving multiple times

34-year-old Joseph Calica was jailed on January 5th after causing a crash on 8th Avenue South and Broadway. When officers arrived on the scene, the vehicle was wrecked into a light pole, with multiple occupants tending to a passenger who had injuries from the accident. While officers tried to identify the vehicle’s driver, the other occupants changed their stories, claiming a different person was driving the vehicle. After viewing video footage in the area, it was determined that Calica was the driver, although he continued to deny it. He had bloodshot, watery eyes, was unsteady on his feet, and smelled strongly of alcohol. Calica was asked multiple times to present a form of identification and fumbled around looking for it before stating that he didn’t have an ID on him. Officers discovered he did not have a driver’s license when they ran his name. The officers on the scene asked Calica to perform sobriety tests, but he refused and was read implied consent, to which he also refused. A warrant was obtained for a blood sample, and Calica was transported to booking.

John Angellotti strangles girlfriend during altercation at Double Tree Hotel

34-year-old John Thomas Angellotti had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Tara Tanner, at the Double Tree Hotel on 4th Avenue North in the early hours of January 1st. Tanner advised officers that Angellotti prevented her from leaving by holding her down against the bed and strangling her. Then, she ran to the bathroom, where she knew a knife was located to protect herself. Angellotti grabbed it from her, cutting his thumb amid the action. Tanner told them that she had pretended to go to bed so she could sneak out, but Angellotti woke up and grabbed her. She managed to break free and escape to the lobby. Hotel staff put her in a back office and contacted the authorities. Officers arrived and observed Angellotti searching for her in the lobby. Officers were told that Tanner wished to prosecute, and then Angellotti was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

DUI: Anthony Collett has “only one” drink before driving towards oncoming traffic in his Tesla

36-year-old Anthony Collett drove the wrong way down a road towards oncoming traffic in his blue Tesla early January 1st. Trooper Duncan was working a DUI checkpoint and conducted a traffic stop when he observed this. Collett admitted to having “only one” alcoholic beverage, consented to sobriety tests, and performed poorly. Collett was taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent.

Glenn Parker, 71, strangles wheelchair bound ex-lover at Senior Living Community Chippington Towers II

71-year-old Glenn Irvin Parker had an altercation with his ex-lover, Dawn Myatt, at her apartment at Chippington Towers II on Coreland Drive on January 7th, where Parker also lived in a separate apartment. Myatt advised officers that she and Parker argued in her apartment when he strangled her from behind to the point of losing consciousness as she sat in her wheelchair. Parker told them that he stayed the night with Ms. Myatt, argued with her, and admitted to putting his hands on her but insisted he was only hugging her from behind to calm her down. Parker also stated he had consumed alcohol earlier in the day. A neighbor reported that she heard Ms. Myatt screaming. She was transported to the hospital for further examination. Parker was taken into custody for aggravated assault and remains jailed.

Timothy Ayala charged in assault of his ex-lover

24-year-old Timothy Ayala was jailed Monday on an outstanding warrant from late December. Keria Horsely, who is the mother of his child, called police on December 29 after an argument about her moving back to California turned physical. She says that as soon as she placed the baby in the crib, Ayala grabbed her and pinned her to the bed, leaving red welt-type marks on her arms, which were documented by police. She bit him to escape, and he then fled the scene.
