71-year-old Glenn Irvin Parker had an altercation with his ex-lover, Dawn Myatt, at her apartment at Chippington Towers II on Coreland Drive on January 7th, where Parker also lived in a separate apartment. Myatt advised officers that she and Parker argued in her apartment when he strangled her from behind to the point of losing consciousness as she sat in her wheelchair. Parker told them that he stayed the night with Ms. Myatt, argued with her, and admitted to putting his hands on her but insisted he was only hugging her from behind to calm her down. Parker also stated he had consumed alcohol earlier in the day. A neighbor reported that she heard Ms. Myatt screaming. She was transported to the hospital for further examination. Parker was taken into custody for aggravated assault and remains jailed.
Glenn Irvin Parker was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on January 7th, charged with aggravated assault. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $5,000.
