Jarrod Gunn threatens Motel 6 employee, tells him “I am going to kill you”

35-year-old Jarrod Gunn, an employee of Staff Zone, had an incident with Ricky Shane Wyatt Miller, a Motel 6 employee, at Motel 6 on Cartwright Street on February 22nd. When officers arrived, they spoke with Miller, who advised them that Gunn told him, “I am going to kill you,” and that he was afraid he might follow through with his statement. Gunn was then cited for assault on February 22nd. Gunn was taken into custody on March 19th.

Raniyha Thomas assaults employee at Casa Fiesta after breaking glasses

20-year-old Raniyha Marie Thomas, of MTSU, had an altercation with an employee, Andres Barajas, at Casa Fiesta on Bell Road late February 22nd. When the officers arrived, they spoke with both parties. Thomas told officers they were sitting at their table when they said to Barajas that their drinks were not right and their food was taking too long. The waiter told them they could leave, and as one of the girls was about to take a drink from their cup, he took it from her hand, telling them to leave again. Then, they left, but one of them left their phone, so she went back inside to grab it. Barajas told them they could not have it unless they paid $20 for damages.

Barajas told officers that they were complaining about their food and drinks, so he told them to leave since the kitchen was closed, and when they tried to take a sip from their drinks, he took their straws. After this, one of the girls started to break the glasses. They then left and later tried to return to the restaurant because one of the girls had left their phone inside. Barjas told them they could not come in, adding that they had to pay $20 in damages to get the phone. Barjas went to close the door, which is when Thomas barged into the establishment and started hitting him. Barajas provided footage of the incident, confirming his statement. Officers were advised that the restaurant did not want to prosecute for the damages, and Thomas was cited for assault. Thomas was taken into custody on March 19th.

Josiah Park runs from police after found trespassing at Vanderbilt University

31-year-old Josiah Parks was loading chemical containers into a U-Haul truck near lot nine at Vanderbilt University on the afternoon of March 13th. VUPD arrived and observed Parks running back and forth between the sidewalk and the U-Haul, repeatedly throwing a jug of water into the air. Then, Parks ran off towards the Free Electron Laser Center as officers identified themselves. When officers commanded Parks to stop, he refused. Once officers caught up to Parks, they noticed his eyes were bloodshot. When asked, Parks did not have a legitimate reason to be on the property, nor did he have consent to take the property from the owners. Parks was taken into custody for resisting arrest, criminal trespassing, and public intoxication.

Christen Singleton shoots gun at man walking his dog

23-year-old Christen Singleton fired a shot at Rodney Wiggins near the Mountain View apartments on Mountain Springs Road in the early hours of March 21st. Officers received three calls regarding gunfire at the complex, with a vehicle speeding off immediately after. When officers arrived, they spoke with Wiggins. Wiggins advised that he was walking his dog when a black Cadillac pulled up next to him, and the passenger, a black male in a pink hoodie, later identified as Singleton, started yelling at him. Singleton then pulled out a handgun, shot a round in Wiggins’ general direction, and sped off. Wiggins added that the shot placed him in fear for his life. Detectives investigated, located Singleton in the Cadillac, and detained him. When officers patted Singleton down, they found a Glock 22 handgun in his sweater pocket. Officers then performed a “show-up,” during which Wiggins confirmed Singleton being the shooter. After this, Singleton advised them that he had a small plastic bag of Percocet that he did not have a prescription for. Singleton was taken into custody for reckless endangerment and simple possession.

Brendan Doherty tries to hug officers after refusing to leave Legends Corner Bar

38-year-old Brendan Joseph Doherty refused to leave the entrance of the Legends Corner Bar in downtown Nashville early March 22nd. Security at the bar flagged officers down and advised them of the incident, which was when they arrived, and told him to move along. Doherty then started speaking with groups of people nearby, being an annoyance. He then tried following random bystanders to their Uber and walked into an active roadway to do so. Officers attempted to get a taxi for Doherty, but he resisted entry as he wanted to tell them a story about his wife and tried to embrace them. Officers noticed Doherty showed signs of impairment and that his friend could not control him or get him to his hotel safely. Officers declared he was unable to care for himself. Doherty was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Tracy Barrett Jr. assaults girlfriend, tells her “I want to see you get mad”

27-year-old Tracy Barrett Jr. had an altercation with his girlfriend, Shunika Rooks, at her Andrew Jackson Way apartment on the afternoon of February 9th. Officers were dispatched to Summit Flowers & Gifts, where they spoke with Rooks. Rooks stated that around 2 p.m., she was sitting on the edge of her bed when Barrett Jr. poked her, stating, “I want to see you get mad.” Rooks said he punched her in the face and placed his hands around her neck, strangling her and making it difficult to breathe. Rooks said she nearly lost consciousness but was able to fight back by scratching and biting Barrett Jr., which caused him to release his hands from her throat. When she escaped his grasp, she went to the kitchen, where Barrett Jr. followed and then struck her on the side of the face. Then, Rooks said Barrett Jr. hugged her from behind and tried to apologize. She told him to let her go, but he refused, so she grabbed a metal spatula and swung it over her head, hitting his head, which was when he released her. After this, Rooks exited the apartment, got into her car, and fled from Barrett Jr. When officers spoke with her, they noticed she had a black eye and scratch marks on her nose, the right side of her forehead, and her right wrist. Barrett Jr. was taken into custody for aggravated assault on March 19th.

Tracy Rudolph speeds down I-40 West at 91mph

30-year-old Tracy Deandre Rudolph was speeding on I-40 West in the early hours of May 22nd, 2023. Officers observed Rudolph going 91 mph in a 70-mph-zone, conducted a traffic stop, and then cited him for the incident. He failed to appear in court or pay the fine by September 29th,2023, so a warrant was issued for his arrest. Rudolph was taken into custody on March 19th.

Brianna Scott speeds down I-40 West, tells police “I Didn’t know I was speeding”

21-year-old Brianna Loren Scott was speeding on I-40 West in the early hours of June 29th, 2024. Officers observed her going 83 mph in a 70-mph-zone and conducted a traffic stop, during which she stated, “I Didn’t know I was speeding.” Scott was then was cited for the incident. She failed to appear in court or pay the fine by October 13th, 2023, so a warrant was issued for her arrest. Scott was taken into custody on March 19th.

Symone Stewart assaults woman for dating her ex-boyfriend

24-year-old Symone Stewart had an altercation with her ex-boyfriend’s girlfriend, TB, late December 1st, 2022. On December 3rd, 2022, officers were dispatched to a 25th Avenue North residence, where they spoke with TB. TB advised officers that Stewart had followed and attacked her because she was currently dating Stewart’s ex-boyfriend. TB stated that Stewart posted the incident and her injuries on social media. Officers reviewed the footage, which showed Stewart holding TB by the hair and striking her repeatedly. During the fight, TB was knocked to the ground, where Stewart began stomping on her head. TB provided photos of the injuries she sustained, which were consistent with her statement. Stewart was taken into custody for aggravated assault on March 19th.
