Chase Thomas charged in assault of his wife as they go through a divorce

34-year-old Chase Thomas was jailed on April 2nd after forcefully taking his wife’s car keys from her and threatening to kill her. Police responded to Lakeside Drive, where Catherine Thomas was picking up some of her belongings. Chase and Catherine are going through a divorce, and Catherine has moved out. When she was heading back to her car to leave, Chase opened her door and grabbed her keys out of the ignition with his left hand. With his right hand, he shoved her and scratched her chest. Chase took Catherine’s keys and her cell phone into the house. Catherine pleaded with him to get her things back, or she would call the police. Chase balled his fist and said, “If you fucking do that, I will kill you or have you killed,” before walking away. Catherine took her belongings and left.

Naked and not afraid — Just say no to drugs: Selena Archer arrested

21-year-old Selena Archer was jailed on April 4th after trying to break into someone’s home and completely undressing herself in the front yard before she left the property. Police responded to the complainant, who told them that a black female was pushing and pulling on her door, trying to get in, and that she rang the door about 20 times. Officers canvased the area and saw Archer walking towards them fully unclothed. They asked her what was happening, and she said, “Just take me to jail.” Officers arrested Archer for public indecency. When they asked for her name, she gave them several names and birthdays. She was mumbling and slurring her speech; officers believed she was under the influence of narcotics. Archer was arrested for several charges and transported to booking, where she ended up providing her social security number and was able to be identified.

Brian Maza charged with personal marijuana possession by petty Airport Police Officer

22-year-old Brian Maza was charged with simple possession of marijuana by Airport Police after he was observed speeding on airport property, where he also works. During the traffic stop, Airport Police Officer Ahmed Aly said he could smell marijuana, so he conducted a search of Maza’s vehicle. A small amount of personal marijuana was seized, and Maza was issued a state citation. He was booked on that charge this week.

Hannah Swingle charged with new DUI while on pre-trial release from December DUI arrest

27-year-old Hannah Swingle was jailed on April 6th after driving drunk through a red light in front of police on Gallatin Avenue. As an officer was turning left at a light, he saw Swingle drive through a red light in her 2020 Nissan Kicks. When speaking with Swingle, she had slurred speech. The officer asked her for her license and insurance, and she only provided her license. The officer asked again if she had insurance, and she said “yes” but didn’t show the proof. The officer asked Swingle if she had anything to drink, and she said that she had, so she was advised she would have to do sobriety tests to be able to leave freely. Swingley agreed to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was taken into custody.

While on the way to booking, she kept asking when she was going to be able to perform the sobriety tests and denied ever driving the car. The officer told her that he saw her driving the vehicle and she had already performed the sobriety tests, but Swingle insisted that she hadn’t. She asked where her phone was several times despite the officer repeating how it was in his possession. At the time of her arrest, she was out on bond from a December DUI charge.

Sherman Dunlap charged in assault and strangulation of his girlfriend

18-year-old Sherman Dunlap was jailed this week on an outstanding warrant from January when he allegedly beat up his girlfriend Ke’Lexia Thomas at her apartment on Dellway Villa Road. The two had broken up two days prior. Dunlap was let in by Ke’Lexia’s young son when he showed up at her apartment door. Ke’Lexia was away visiting someone else and returned when she found out Dunlap was in her apartment. They started arguing about her speaking to other men and about a stolen gun from a prior incident.

Dunlap started to strangle Ke’Lexia with two hands around her throat and squeezed repeatedly. He pulled her to the ground by her hair and bit her on her left shoulder. Ke’Lexia told police that she did pull his hair back and bit his hands so he would let go of her hair. The strangling and hair-pulling continued during the entirety of the fight. Although Ke’Lexia didn’t lose consciousness, it was difficult for her to breathe. Part of the incident was captured on video, but it only showed them both pulling each other’s hair.

Dunlap eventually let go, took his game system, and left. He was finally located on April 5th after police responded to a call for shots fired on Old Hickory Boulevard. Upon arrival, police saw several shell casings, a magazine, damaged vehicles, and surveillance video of the incident. The shooting involved a red Chevy Traverse with three black male occupants. The other vehicle They were wearing the same clothing from the surveillance video. Two of the suspects are minors, with one being the driver and shooter in this incident. The vehicle search yielded a handgun, two loaded magazines, and marijuana.

Berk Arapgirlioglu says he told woman to ‘shut the f*** up’ as he raped her

18-year-old Berk Arapgirlioglu was jailed on April 5th for raping a woman on March 31st in the backseat of his car. The 18-year-old female victim told police that she agreed to go out on a date with Berk, and he picked her up from her home. He took her to multiple places before arriving at a parking lot at Reservoir Park. They fooled around in the back seat of his car, but she told Berk no when he told her he wanted to have sex.

Despite the victim telling him at least twice that she did not want to have sex, he tugged at her pants, trying to pull them down. While he was doing this, she told him no again. He pulled her pants and underwear down and started raping her as she continued to say “No” and “I don’t want to do this.” He held her hands down forcefully and told her to “shut the f*-k up” as she was crying in the midst of it. When Berk was questioned on April 5th, he admitted to police that despite the victim saying “no,” he knew she really wanted to have sex. He also admitted to telling her to “shut the fuck up’ while he raped her.

Norway tourist gets lost on toilet in East Nashville 7-eleven— Stian Kallekodd

26-year-old Stian Kallekodd was in an East Nashville 7-Eleven in the early hours of Thursday morning and refused to leave. Police arrived to find the man extremely intoxicated and reeking of alcohol. Store personnel told police Kallekodd had been asleep on the toilet in the men’s restroom for over two hours prior to their arrival. Officers offered to give Kallekodd a ride home, but he told them he lived in Norway. Not willing to make that drive, officers transported him to booking and charged him with public intoxication.

Cliff Christian: I fought a tree for its sap; now I can speak Japanese

42-year-old Cliff Christian was jailed on Monday morning after police responded to a call regarding a man “assaulting a tree” at the intersection of Wallace and Recovery Road. When police arrived and approached Christian, he was behaving and speaking erratically and sweating profusely. He was screaming that a nearby tree was falling, which was not the case, leading the officer to believe he was on drugs. The officer asked Christian what he had taken, and he told the officer that he had taken marijuana, “a bunch of crack,” and tree sap that was supposed to give him the ability to speak Japanese. On the ride to booking, he kept reiterating how he had taken crack cocaine.

Lance Dotson charged with strangling his wife at Hopsmith Nashville

51-year-old Lance Dotson was jailed on April 1st after strangling his wife, Stacey Dotson until she couldn’t breathe. When officers arrived at Hopsmith Nashville on Division Street, Stacey was visibly distraught and crying. Multiple witnesses approached the officers and told them how Lance physically assaulted and choked her numerous times. They showed the officer videos that they had recorded of the incident that matched Stacey’s statement. Stacey refused medical attention when NFD arrived on the scene, and Lance was taken to booking and charged with felony aggravated assault/strangulation.

DUI: Nicholas Kelly went airborne over railroad tracks, pulls up on curb for traffic stop

29-year-old Nicholas Kelly was jailed on April 2nd after driving so fast that his car went airborne over railroad tracks on Temple Boulevard. Police observed Kelly driving 60mph in a 40mph zone. Police turned on their blue lights, and Kelly drove up onto the curb when pulling over. When they asked for his license, he told them he didn’t have it on him. Police asked Kelly to exit the vehicle and noticed he didn’t have shoes on and was stumbling and swaying, trying to maintain balance. Officers smelled alcohol coming from him and noticed glassy, bloodshot eyes. Based on the evidence, Kelly was taken into custody and charged with multiple DUI-related offenses.
