Aakash Vasireddy charged with DUI after rolling his vehicle on I-24

23-year-old Aakash Vasireddy was jailed on April 2nd after driving drunk into an exit sign on I-24 and rolling his car over. Police asked him what had happened, and he said he was driving too fast and had lost control. Police could smell alcohol coming from his breath as they spoke to him and asked if he had anything to drink. He admitted he had a few beers and was asked to participate in sobriety testing, which he agreed to and performed poorly on. He could not stand without swaying and consented to a breathalyzer which came back as .141% BAC.

Alvionna Jones stabs lover during argument, flees the scene

19-year-old Alvionna Jones was jailed last week on an outstanding warrant from March 12th for stabbing her boyfriend Joshua Cloyd in the hip after an argument at the Super 8 by Wyndham Hermitage on Princeton Place. When officers arrived on the scene, they saw Joshua with a stab wound and additional slash marks on his left hip area, with blood on the bed and floor. Joshua told police that Jones had seen a text message on his phone that she thought was from another woman. Joshua said that they argued, and she eventually grabbed a knife.

According to Joshua, anytime an argument occurs, she always “goes for the knife.” He says it was a kitchen knife this time, and the blade was about three inches. Joshua said that after Jones stabbed him, she fled on foot to an unknown location. He said he blacked out during the altercation and wasn’t sure how it escalated. Joshua was treated on scene by NFD but refused to be transported to the hospital. He made it very clear that he didn’t want his girlfriend to get in trouble. During the investigation, officers discovered Jones has active bond conditions from a previous incident where Joshua was the victim.

Layna Prince slaps boyfriend when he confronts her about dancing with other people

25-year-old Layna Prince was jailed on March 31st after police saw her and her boyfriend, Thomas Hoen, arguing in the street in downtown Nashville. Officers observed the argument taking place and went over to check on them. Hoen was bleeding from his top lip. He told police they had been at the bar a few minutes before and started arguing about Prince dancing with other people. He said that Prince slapped and scratched his face after he confronted her, and she was taken into custody due to his injuries.

DUI: Shaun Johnson isn’t sure how or why he ended up passed out in a parking lot

34-year-old Shaun Johnson was jailed on March 31st after passing out drunk behind the wheel in a parking lot on Gallatin Pike. Police arrived on the scene, and Johnson refused medical attention. Police observed Johnson with dilated pupils, swaying while he stood, and slurred speech. Officers asked Johnson how much he had to drink, and he stated that he was initially drinking at his friend’s house, and then they went to a bar. Johnson drove from the bar to pick up food and somehow ended up on Gallatin Pike. He told police that he had about six drinks that night and didn’t remember how he ended up in the parking lot but must have pulled over because he was feeling too drunk. Johnson agreed to sobriety tests that he performed poorly on and was taken to booking.

Dawaun Ransom busted with ‘purp,’ crystal meth, and a handgun

32-year-old Dawaun Ransom was jailed on March 31st after he was seen making a hand-to-hand drug transaction out of his red dodge challenger around Stewarts Ferry Pike. Ransom made two right turns without signaling, and a traffic stop was made in the Bell Road parking lot. When police asked him if there were any drugs or firearms in the vehicle, he told them that he smoked weed and there were roaches in a cup in the center console area. Ransom was detained, and the vehicle search yielded 30 grams of “purp” (purple fentanyl/ heroin) wrapped in 1 gram aluminum foil packages for resale, 5.6 grams of meth, one scale, and 1 Taurus G3 9mm handgun.

DUI: Brittany Chambers passed out behind the wheel at Lipscomb after “two shots”

37-year-old Brittany Chambers was jailed on March 31st after passing out behind the wheel at the Maplehurst Ave and Granny White Pike intersection. When police arrived on the scene, Lipscomb security told them they were doing a perimeter check of the university and drove past the vehicle many times, sitting in the same spot. Chambers was still sitting in the same place when the officers arrived. Chambers told police that she had dropped her friend off and was headed home but was unsure of where she was because she was only in Nashville for work. She admitted to the police that she consumed two shots of alcohol before driving. Officers could smell alcohol coming from her breath as she spoke. Chambers agreed to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was taken to booking.

Father brawls with cops over son’s arrest at Kid Rock’s Bar — John Stone

50-year-old John Stone and his son were at Kid Rock’s Bar in downtown Nashville Saturday when they caused a commotion, demanding that another patron be removed from the bar. As they yelled and screamed, Metro Nashville Officers took notice of them and began to take the son into custody for his disruptive behavior. John Stone saw his son being detained. He approached the officers and placed his hands on an officer’s chest and grabbed his vest in an attempt to pull him away. Officers took John Stone to the ground, where he continued to resist, but eventually took him into custody. A search revealed a handgun in his possession, and he was extremely intoxicated.

Dakotah Hall charged with DUI after drinking at the Rusty Nail bar & crashing

30-year-old Dakotah Hall says he consumed two lemon drop shots and one ‘signature shot’ at The Rusty Nail bar late Friday night before rear-ending another vehicle on I-40 in the early hours of Saturday morning. Officers arrived to find heavy front-end damage to Hall’s vehicle and rear-end damage to the other vehicle. Hall, however, claimed he was the vehicle that was hit, which was determined to be a lie. He also complained multiple times that he had been waiting twenty minutes in his car for police to arrive. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests that he completed, which were only a few because he “felt too cold.” He was transported to booking and charged with DUI.

Protester Georganne Parr jailed after interrupting House Session at Capitol

55-year-old Georganne Parr was jailed late Monday night after protesting at the State Capitol building. THP Troopers say the House of Representatives had an active session when the crowd became disorderly by shouting and screaming. Parr was asked to leave the chamber and refused to do so. Trooper Pollard grabbed her arm to escort her from the chamber, and she pulled away and reportedly pushed him. Trooper Campbell stepped in to help when she pulled away, rolled over, and ignored all commands. During a struggle, she reportedly struck Trooper Campbell in the leg. She was non-compliant with being detained and had to be carried down two flights of stairs.
