Mercedes Cole punches boyfriend during argument on Valentine’s Day

26-year-old Mercedes Cole was booked on February 14th for assaulting her boyfriend during an argument on Foster Place. Tariq Samad stated that when he was trying to talk to Cole, she shut the door on him. Samad then forced the door open, so Cole punched him. Officers observed a red mark on the side of his face. According to Cole, she was trying to get away from Samad so he would leave her alone. As Cole tried to close the door, Samad pushed it open, causing the door to hit her. In response to being hit by the door, Cole punched Samad. The officers asked Cole why she was trying to get away from him, but she couldn’t give a consistent answer and repeated that they were arguing. Cole could not provide evidence of threats or violence from Samad. Cole was taken into custody for domestic assault on February 14th.

Sayva Phillips caught stealing $45 worth of merchandise from Nordstrom

20-year-old Sayva Phillips was issued a citation on January 13th for shoplifting at Nordstrom on Abbott Martin Road. The asset protection officer reported that Phillips walked into the women’s changing room with her selected clothing and a green bag. When she left the changing room, she only had some of the selected items in hand. Phillips then paid for an item and went into the bathroom. Phillips put multiple items she did not pay for in the Nordstrom bag with her purchased item. The asset protection officer stopped Phillips as she attempted to leave the store. $45 worth of merchandise was recovered from her bag. Phillips was booked on a citation on February 5th.

Henrietta Umeh assaults Lea Avenue Apartments employee over mail

30-year-old Henrietta Umeh was issued a summons for an incident on December 15th, 2023, at Lea Avenue Apartments. Kendra Kirksey, an employee at Lea Avenue Apartments, stated that Umeh aggressively confronted her. According to Kirksey, Umeh was very rude throughout their encounter and demanded to get a package from the mail room. As Kirksey tried to get to the mail room, Umeh demanded to speak to the upstairs leasing office staff. After Umeh received her package, Kirksey tried to go upstairs to explain the situation to the leasing staff. Kirksey stated this was when Umeh then stepped out of the elevator, called her a “bitch” and got very close to her face. Umeh also slapped Kirksey’s hands away from the elevator buttons. Kirksey returned to the front desk, where Umeh followed her and knocked over her water bottle before walking off. Umeh was booked on a citation on February 5th.

Booster Ana Garcia caught stealing over $170 of merchandise from Walmart

34-year-old Ana Gabriela Garcia stole from the Charlotte Pike Walmart on the afternoon of January 24th. A loss prevention employee observed this, and they advised officers that Garcia entered the store, selected items, and carried them out of the door without paying. The $172.49 stolen merchandise was recovered, and Garcia was cited for the incident. Garcia was taken into custody for theft on February 12th.  

18-year-old Damian Davis punches mother for unplugging internet

18-year-old Damian Davis had a domestic altercation with his mother, Sandreen Julius, at their Cambridge at Hickory Hollow apartment on Bell Road on February 8th. When officers arrived, Julius advised them that she and Davis argued over her disconnecting the internet. Then, Davis got up from the couch after Julius unplugged the ethernet cable a second time and punched her in the head. Jaheim Julius, who was in the room at the time of the incident, said he observed Davis walk into the room and strike her before intervening, which was when Davis left. Davis was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault on February 14th.

Graffiti Artist William Weaver caught spray painting Altria Smokeless Tobacco building

20-year-old William Buchanan Weaver was one of two people captured on camera cutting a fence at the Altria Smokeless Tobacco building on Harrison Street on December 15th, 2023. The footage shows both suspects climbing up the exterior stairwell onto the roof. They tied a rope and rappelled down the side of the building before spray-painting the words “OSCAR,” “LTE,” and “SATED” on it. Both suspects descended from the roof and exited through the fence after causing nearly $7,500 worth of property damage. Investigators researched social media posts containing the tags “#OscarLTE” and “#sated” and discovered several graffiti art-style images like the words painted on the building. Officers found a profile linked to an “Oscar.” Officers learned that the owner of the social media account, later identified as Weaver, was from Nashville, TN, and had been arrested for vandalism in 2022. Photos from Weaver’s 2022 arrest showed the same three tags painted on the Altria building. Then, investigators located a YouTube video titled “Let Them Envy: Volume 1,” which was a compilation of graffiti artists who are part of the “Let Them Envy,” or “LTE,” group. In the video, several members are seen spray-painting various locations throughout Nashville, TN. The video showed one of the members, introduced as “Oscar” or “Amesh,” painting the word “OSCAR.” Later in the video, another member introduced as “Sated” is shown spraying the word “SATED.” It was revealed that Weaver owns a social media account named “@criketizm_wave,” where he is seen wearing the same necklace that “Oscar” wore in the YouTube video. Weaver was positively identified and was taken into custody for criminal trespassing and vandalism on February 14th.

19-year-old Shatoya Farmer jailed after helping baby-daddy rob man at gunpoint

19-year-old Shatoya Farmer met with Timothy Beach and another friend on April 13th, 2023. Amare Ramey, the father of Farmer’s child and Farmer’s brother, MF, were there and asked the victims if they wanted to shoot their guns. Ramey pulled out a rifle, MF produced a handgun, and they pointed their weapons at Beach and the other victim, telling them, “Give me everything you’ve got.” Before fleeing in Farmer’s black Buick, they took Beach’s CashApp card, $50 in cash, a vape, and a pair of Gucci slides. After Ramey, MF, and Farmer drove off, they turned around and sped towards the victims, nearly hitting Beach with the car. Officers created photo line-ups for Beach and the other individual with the information provided. Both victims identified Farmer and Ramey, pinpointing Farmer as the driver and person they met up with. Farmer was taken into custody for conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery on February 14th.

Logan Hall defecates on floor after being confronted for trespassing at Walmart

60-year-old Logan Hall refused to leave a West Nashville Walmart on the afternoon of February 14th. Walmart security officer Wanda Robertson, and Phillip McCoy, a loss prevention officer, alerted the authorities, advising them that Hall was trespassing and told to leave after being caught shoplifting. Then, Hall re-entered the establishment, sparking an argument with Robertson in the entryway. During the argument, Hall pulled on his pant leg, releasing feces onto the ground. Officers also noted that a customer nearly stepped in Hall’s feces as well. When officers arrived, they reviewed footage confirming the incident and were told that Walmart wished to prosecute. Hall was taken into custody for vandalism and criminal trespassing.

18-year-old Lillian Armstrong caught stealing over $140 of merchandise at Nordstrom

18-year-old Lillian Armstrong was issued a citation on January 27th after reports of shoplifters at Nordstrom on Abbott Martin Road. When the police arrived, they spoke with Mr. Rutledge, who stated that he observed Ms. Armstrong taking tags off clothes and placing them inside a bag. Armstrong then left the store with the bag of stolen items. Mr. Rutledge showed officers the video footage, which corroborated his statements. The value of the stolen items was $140. Armstrong was taken into custody on February 12th.

18-year-old Lauryn Carter caught shoplifting at Nordstrom

18-year-old Lauryn Kerry Carter was caught shoplifting at Nordstrom on Abbott Martin Road on January 27th. Tyrell Rutledge, security for Nordstrom, detained Carter and alerted officers. Officers arrived and reviewed the footage showing Carter taking price tags off of items and concealing merchandise. Carter was cited for the incident. Carter was taken into custody for theft on February 12th.
