DUI: Rudi Guarchchaj-Castillo ignores officers while driving without a license on I-24 East

25-year-old Rudi Guarchchaj-Castillo was caught driving under the influence and without his license near I-24 East on April 29th. While officers were investigating a motor incident, they blocked all traffic. Despite this, Castillo failed to listen to officers while in his vehicle. Officers then approached Castillo, and he rolled his window down. Officers immediately noticed Castillo’s watery eyes and asked him to leave the car. After Castillo exited the vehicle, officers noticed the smell of alcohol. Officers asked Castillo to do Sobriety tests, which he agreed to and performed poorly on. Officers took Castillo into custody, and when they tried to verify his information, it was discovered that he did not have a valid driver’s license. Castillo was charged with DUI and driving without his license.

Kevin Sinclair deemed too drunk for Nashville International Airport

32-year-old Kevin Sinclair was seen drunk by police at Nashville International Airport on April 27th. When officers arrived, they spoke with staff at Tootsie’s bar in the airport terminal. They stated that Sinclair had been kicked out of one bar and was refused service at Tootsie’s. They then pointed Sinclair out, and when officers spoke with him, he stated he had missed his flight because he was at a bar. Officers noticed his slurred speech and inability to stand. Officers then gave him multiple chances to book an Uber and provided an address to an available hotel. Sinclair proceeded to type the wrong address and instead typed in a location in South Carolina. Officers deemed Sinclair was too intoxicated to care for himself, and he was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Lakeesha Dixon-Starnes indicted after stealing $32,192 from Hooper Corporation

A Davidson County Grand Jury indicted 41-year-old Lakeesha Dixon-Starnes for theft of property and forgery on March 13th. The indictment alleges that Dixon-Starnes, between the 4th day of January 2023 and the 27th day of February 2023, in Davidson County, Tennessee, knowingly did obtain or exercise control over certain property, to wit: a sum of money, of the value of $10,000 or more but less than $60,000, the property of Hooper Corporation, without their effective consent, and did forge writing described as follows: check number 30193 drawn on the BMO Harris Bank account of General Heating and Air Conditioning, dated January 4th, 2023 and made payable to Important Signatures LLC for $32,193.60, of the value of $10,000 or more but less than $60,000, with intent to defraud or harm another, to wit: Hooper Corporation. Dixon-Starnes was taken into custody on April 27th, 2024.

Luis Cruz caught fishing without a license

22-year-old Luis Jerardo Cruz was booked on the citation for fishing without a license on May 12th, 2023. Cruz was observed by TWA agents fishing without a valid TN license, and when they approached him, he admitted to fishing. Cruz was cited for the occurrence. Cruz was booked on the citation on May 2nd, 2024.

Adam Brydebell drunkenly opens TikTok multiple times instead of cooperating with officers

32-year-old Adam James Brydebell was observed leaning against Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar around 8:30 p.m. on May 1st. Officers observed this as they walked past and approached him, asking how he was doing, to which he replied, “Good, but not too good.” Officers advised him he was too impaired and needed to call a friend, but when he tried to call, he kept opening up TikTok. Then, Brydebell provided officers with his Virginia driver’s license and was asked if he had a hotel room. Brydebell told officers he had a hotel room but could not tell them where it was. Brydebell stated his hotel room key was on his phone, but he repeatedly opened TikTok instead of accessing the room key. He also could not tell officers his friend’s phone number so they could try to reach them on his behalf. Brydebell then started talking to himself. Officers noticed he reeked of alcohol before he hit his head against the wall, trying to get his hair out of his face. Brydebell was taken into custody for public intoxication on May 2nd.

Hector Salmeanto steals woman’s car from her workplace

32-year-old Hector Arel Salmeanto stole Makenzie Harris’s car from her workplace, HCA/Centennial Development, on May 1st. Officers were dispatched to a Georgia Avenue residence regarding a call stating there was a male Hispanic, later identified as Salmeanto, getting out of a vehicle in a valley behind his house and attempting to jump over his fence. When officers arrived, they located Salmeanto, who was sweating and could not provide a legitimate story on how he obtained the vehicle or ended up at their dispatched location. Officers asked Salmeanto who owned the car, and he gave them two names of those he believed were the registered owners.

Then, officers found and spoke with Harris, the stolen vehicle owner, who stated her car had been taken from work and called it in at 4:59 p.m. Harris stated the patrol officers had not made it to her job, so her car was not yet reported as stolen. She gave officers a description of Salmeanto from the camera footage outside her workplace. Officers had located Salmeanto in the immediate area of the vehicle and found the vehicle’s keys on his person. The vehicle was estimated to be approximately $9,000.  Salmeanto was taken into custody for vehicle theft.

Zion Newsom charged after attempting to rob Shell Gas Station at gunpoint

19-year-old Zion Newsom was taken into custody for attempted robbery on May 1st. On March 6th, officers were dispatched to the Shell Gas Station on Charlotte Pike for a panic alarm, where they spoke with Mohammad Hamdulla. Hamdulla advised officers that a lone black male, later identified as Newsom, wearing a mask, tried to rob the store at gunpoint. Newsom was unsuccessful and fled the scene in a white Chrysler. During the investigation, officers obtained phone records, placing him in the area at the time of the incident. Officers also identified Newsom via a previous encounter with police where he was the driver and sole occupant of the same white Chrysler. Newsom was later detained for the incident.

DUI: Nicki Selby speeds down Lebanon Pike after drinking fireball

49-year-old Nicki Selby was observed speeding on Lebanon Pike in the early hours of May 2nd. Officers then conducted a traffic stop and noticed she smelled strongly of alcohol. She then admitted to having a glass and a half of wine and a shot of Fireball. She consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and agreed to provide a breath sample, which resulted in 0.117 BAC%. Officers then searched her vehicle and located a Ruger handgun in her purse that was in the front seat. Selby was taken into custody for possession of a weapon while under the influence, an implied consent violation, and driving under the influence.

James Acquah steals $15 pair of sunglasses from Nordstrom

21-year-old James Acquah stole merchandise from Nordstrom on February 9th. Security at the location alerted the authorities after detaining him for stealing a pair of $15 sunglasses. When officers arrived, they were provided footage showing Acquah trying on a pair of glasses in the fitting room, where he put them in his left pocket and attempted to leave the location before being stopped by security. Then, he was cited for the incident. Acquah failed to appear in court by March 4th, which resulted in a bench warrant being issued for his arrest on March 12th. Acquah was booked on the citation of theft on May 1st.
