DUI: Christopher Churchwell caught with gun after crashing car

45-year-old Christopher Churchwell had a single-vehicle accident on SR 155 in the early hours of March 9th. When officers arrived, they noticed Churchwell reeked of alcohol as he voluntarily handed them his firearm off his right hip. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and then denied implied consent. Churchwell was taken into custody for driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and implied consent.

Natalie Chaffin steals Nashville Downtown Partnership cleaning cart, refuses to return it

39-year-old Natalie Nicole Chaffin took the cleaning cart and raincoat of one of the crew members for the downtown partnership on the corner of 6th Avenue and Demonbreun Street on the afternoon of March 9th. The crew member stopped Chaffin and tried to grab the cart as officers approached them. Officers told Chaffin to stop and noticed her reeking of alcohol. Chaffin could not give them a phone number or an address so a friend could pick her up. Chaffin was deemed a danger to herself and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Jaylin Guthrie catches ex-girlfriend with high school friend, tells her “I will kill you guys”

26-year-old Jaylin Guthrie had a domestic incident with his ex-girlfriend, Ashley Elizabeth Lewis, at her Bellwood Park Apartment unit on Cahal Avenue late March 8th. Lewis spoke with the officers when they arrived, advising them that she was hanging out with a high school friend, Michael McClary. While they were hanging out, Guthrie arrived unannounced, banging on her door. Lewis said that he must have noticed her extra parking space being occupied. Lewis assumed that this caused Guthrie to become frustrated, calling her repeatedly. Then, Lewis said Guthrie slammed onto the door, causing it to bend near the top and bottom. While doing this, Guthrie told them, “I will kill you guys, and I have a gun on me,” putting her and McClary in fear. Detectives located Guthrie a couple of streets away and initiated a traffic stop. Guthrie advised them that he went over to see his kids, admitting to having a gun in his fanny pack, but insisted he carries it everywhere. Then, Guthrie said he saw McClary inside the apartment, and he began banging on the door during the heat of the moment. Guthrie was taken into custody for domestic assault, assault, and vandalism.

Dillion Waller tells ex-girlfriend “Answer the phone, or I will shoot up your house”

32-year-old Dillion Waller sent threatening texts to his ex-girlfriend, Jocelyn Moran Daza, from February 13th to March 9th. On March 9th, Daza alerted the authorities, explaining that Waller sent her messages like, “Answer the phone, or I will come to shoot up your house,” and, “It is not a threat. It is a promise,” which was heard from a recording. Daza said she tried to minimize contact with him, but he called through alternative or blocked phone numbers. These actions put Daza in fear, and officers offered to assist her in prosecuting him. Waller was taken into custody for assault on March 9th.

Manus Okeefe presents woman’s ID at Jason Aldean’s

40-year-old Manus Joseph Hosea Okeefe caused a disturbance at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar in the early hours of March 9th. Security at the bar flagged officers down regarding the incident, advising them that they dragged Okeefe out of the establishment and that he was too intoxicated, aggressive, and not welcome back. When officers met with Okeefe, he reeked of alcohol. They requested his identification, and he gave them an unknown female’s ID. Okeefe became irate and uncooperative as he shouted at them, approaching aggressively. While they tried to detain him, he resisted, refusing to get in the back of the patrol car, so they had to force him into it. Okeefe was then taken into custody for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.

Eric Batson found passed out drunk in Downtown Nashville

21-year-old Eric Batson was found passed out and slumped over on the sideway near the pedestrian bridge on 2nd Ave South late March 8th. Officers made initial contact with Batson and alerted nearby paramedics. Batson eventually became conscious and was able to answer basic questions. However, Batson was still unable to convey where he was from or where he was staying. Batson first said he was staying at the Hilton but later stated the Holiday Inn. Batson also wasn’t sure of the location of either hotel. Batson was unable to locate his cell phone or anyone to retrieve him, so he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Frank Viera scuffles with bouncers at Twelve Thirty Club in downtown Nashville

Police say 25-year-old Frank Viera refused to leave the Twelve Thirty Club bar in downtown Nashville late Saturday night despite being asked multiple times by security staff to leave the venue. Frank was by the DJ booth, becoming an annoyance, and the DJ did not want him to be in the location, causing a disturbance to his work. While he initially agreed to pay his bar tab and leave, he quickly became aggressive and told them he would have to be physically removed. As they escorted him out, he attempted to fight staff, but was taken to the doorway where he met police. Frank told police the bouncers still had his prescription glasses, phone, and debit card, so he refused to leave. Security returned his glasses, which they say were broken in the scuffle. His phone and debit card were located on his person.

MLS Coach Nick Theslof jailed after drunken night in Nashville

48-year-old soccer player turned coach, Nick Theslof was jailed in Nashville early Saturday morning after reportedly spitting on a female security guard and falling asleep in a parking garage after a night of heavy drinking. Officers located Theslof asleep in the travel lane of the parking garage and attempted to wake him several times. Theslof did not want to wake up and told officers to “fuck off” and “go fuck yourself” multiple times. He reeked of alcohol and was not sure of who or where he was. He was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication. Theslof is an assistant coach for the LA Galaxy Major League Soccer team.

Catholic High School President J. Marshall Hyzdu jailed after harassing women in Nashville bar

45-year-old Catholic school president James Marshall Hyzdu was jailed in Nashville Saturday after reportedly following women around a Nashville bar, making them feel uncomfortable. Security at The Twelve Thirty Club says Hyzdu came into the bar and began to follow women around, making them uncomfortable and annoyed with the behavior. Hyzdu was escorted out of the location, only to return and continue the behavior. According to security, he was escorted out of the building six times and continued to return, even changing his clothing once to change his appearance. He was eventually detained until Metro Nashville Police arrived and took him into custody. They noted his extreme level of intoxication and had no one to contact to retrieve him or assist him back to his hotel. J.
