DUI: Christopher Churchwell caught with gun after crashing car

45-year-old Christopher Churchwell had a single-vehicle accident on SR 155 in the early hours of March 9th. When officers arrived, they noticed Churchwell reeked of alcohol as he voluntarily handed them his firearm off his right hip. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and then denied implied consent. Churchwell was taken into custody for driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and implied consent.

Christopher Churchwell of Lacewing Trace Lane in Cordova, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on March 8th, charged with driving under the influence, implied consent, and weapon under the influence. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $3,500, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
