Mira Williams snatches friend’s iPhone 13 at Airbnb, says she was put in “Chokehold”

26-year-old Mira Williams tried to steal Roman Hajnas’s iPhone 13 at his Airbnb on McGavock Street in the early hours of April 5th. The police responded to a call regarding an assault near 16th Avenue and Hayes Street. They located Hajnas, who stated he met Williams while socializing with his friend, Jaroslaw Luczkiewicz, and they decided to continue their conversation at his Airbnb. Hajnas said she requested to use his phone to call someone, so he unlocked it. Williams grabbed it from his hand, and as he did this, she attempted to run away. He said he started running after Williams and caught up to her near Hayes Street, where he pushed her to the ground and held her down with Luczkiewicz until the police arrived. Hajnas said that he sustained injuries from the fall but recovered his iPhone. Officers spoke with Luczkiewicz, who corroborated Hajnas’s statements, stating she snatched his phone from him and fled. He admitted to assisting in her detainment. Williams was transported to the hospital due to injuries from the incident, so officers met with her. Williams told them she left the Airbnb due to Hajnas’s unwanted sexual advances. She added that he became irate when she walked away and started following her. Williams then tried to sprint, but Hajnas caught her and pushed her to the ground, causing external injuries. She alleged that Hajnas and Luczkiewicz held her body against the ground and put her in a “chokehold” until bystanders separated them. Williams denied taking any phone from his possession. Officers determined there was probable cause for the theft of the iPhone, so Williams was then taken into custody for theft.

DUI: Mitchell Carter crashes Mustang on I-40 East after drinking “medium amount” of whiskey

27-year-old musician Mitchell “Mitch” Carter crashed his green 2013 Ford Mustang into a metal guardrail on I-40 East near Exit 215A on April 6th. Upon arrival, officers observed the damaged Mustang running with the keys in the ignition while Carter was on a stretcher being loaded into the back of an ambulance. Jeshon Amory, a witness, stated when he approached Carter, he was passed out behind the wheel in the driver’s seat. Officers questioned Carter about the incident, and he said that he “drove to the wrong spot.” Then, when they asked him to clarify, he told them he did not remember. Officers smelled alcohol emitting from Carter’s body as he admitted to drinking a “medium amount.” He further explained he had three shots of whiskey at Whiskey Row. Carter was transported to Summit Hospital for medical treatment, where he agreed to provide a blood sample after being informed of implied consent. Once he was Mirandized, he refused to answer any more questions. He was then released from Summit and transported to Nashville General Hospital for a blood draw. After being cleared, Carter was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Corey Walker assaults girlfriend with lanyard during altercation

34-year-old Corey Lartez Walker had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Ashley Baltimore, at their shared Old Franklin Road apartment on January 5th, 2023. Officers were dispatched to a Bluffhollow Gap residence around 9:00 p.m. and spoke with Baltimore when they arrived. Baltimore stated that she and Walker argued at their apartment while she was doing laundry and taking care of their child. She added that he had been drinking and accused her of taking his phone. During their argument, Walker hit Baltimore’s arm with a lanyard and picked up her purse. The couple struggled over Baltimore’s purse, causing her to fall onto the ground and hit her head. Baltimore said she tried to leave afterward, but Walker slammed the door shut. Officers noticed she sustained swelling to the left side of her head from falling and a cut on her wrist from the lanyard. Walker was taken into custody for domestic assault on April 6th, 2024.

DUI: Joe Sparks speeds down I-24, tells police his wife had to use the restroom

67-year-old Joe Lee Sparks was speeding on I-24 East near mile marker 55.8 around 12:19 a.m. on April 6th. Officers were conducting traffic enforcement when they observed his Nissan Murano going 86 mph in a 70 mph zone, weaving in and out of traffic. Officers activated their sirens, and Sparks pulled over to the right shoulder of Exit 57, Haywood Lane, ramp, partially in the travel lane. Before officers approached, they instructed Sparks to pull directly in front of them. Sparks exited his Murano without being instructed to, so officers asked him to return to his vehicle, where they informed him why they stopped him. Sparks told them his wife had to use the restroom, causing him to speed. As officers spoke with Sparks, they noticed he had a slight alcoholic odor, so they asked if he had anything to drink. He admitted to having one beer and later told them he had a mixed cocktail. Sparks showed numerous signs of intoxication while he explained that he and his wife were heading home from a family gathering at his sister-in-law’s. Officers asked him, using a scale from 1-10, to grade himself on his impairment level, to which he replied, “Three.” Then, Sparks consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and after being explained implied consent, agreed to provide a blood sample. Sparks was taken into custody for driving under the influence and speeding.

Phenix Gleaves breaks into home, assaults multiple family members during altercation

22-year-old Phenix Gleaves was involved in an altercation with his step-brother, Joshua Vance, at Stagner Road on April 7th. When officers arrived, they saw Phenix talking to his father, Jason Gleaves. Once contact was made, officers could assess that Phenix was highly intoxicated. Phenix was asked what had happened, so he informed officers that he had been drinking. Phenix also stated that he and Vance got into a fight. Jason told officers that he saw that Phenix was intoxicated, so he told him to go sleep it off. This, however, led to Phenix following around Jason and screaming at him. Jason was able to separate himself from Phenix, but Phenix ended up pushing him. Jason recovered, entered his residence, locked the door, and contacted law enforcement. Vance heard the commotion and came outside to see what was going on. When he came outside, Phenix started yelling at him too. Seeing this from his window, Jason told Vance to go back inside, which he did. This made Phenix more upset, prompting him to bang on the windows to get Vance’s attention. Once unsuccessful, Phenix went back to the front door and began punching it until he was able to create a hole big enough to fit a human being. Phenix started reaching inside and successfully grabbed Vance, pulling him through the door. Once Phenix got hold of Vance, he started attacking him. Trying to defend himself, Vance hit Phenix in the face until he could create enough distance to run away. Phenix Gleaves was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault with bodily injury, domestic assault with fear of bodily injury, aggravated burglary, and vandalism.

DUI: Allison Barner tells police she has to throw up after crashing in parking lot

23-year-old Allison Barner drove into Charity Marshall’s vehicle in the parking lot of a shopping center on Thompson Lane late April 6th. Marshall called the police regarding the incident, stating that Barner exited her car, screaming, “I am drunk.” When officers arrived, they spoke with Tywan Easley, a witness, who said he saw Barner hit the back of Marshall’s car before driving over a curb and stopping behind the shopping center. Marshall told the officers that she assisted Barner to the bathroom after she exited her vehicle. When officers tried to speak with Barner, they noticed she reeked of alcohol and was unresponsive to their questions. Afterward, NFD personnel helped her into the back of an ambulance, where they had to hold her up to walk. Barner then refused to go to the hospital, so officers assisted her into their patrol car. She refused to take sobriety tests and told the officers that she felt like she was going to throw up, so they helped her get out of the backseat and over to the grass. Barner was then taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent.

Taylor Gorzki assaults ex-boyfriend during argument at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar

22-year-old Taylor Lynn Gorzki had a domestic altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Guillermo Ochoa, late April 5th. Ochoa was at Honky Tonk Central when he called the police and stated he and Gorzki had a verbal argument over their relationship status at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar. Ochoa told Gorzki they were not going to get back together, so she pushed him. He added that they have a history of domestic incidents and showed officers the bruises on his chest. Ochoa said he was fearful that Gorzki would continue attacking him, so he pushed her. Then, Ochoa told officers that he and a friend tried to leave Jason Aldean’s, but she followed them to Honky Tonk Central. After this, officers located Gorzki, who explained that she was upset and pushed him. Officers also spoke with Breana Victoria Caldwell, a witness, who shared a similar statement. Caldwell told officers that Gorzki got mad and pushed Ochoa. Gorzki was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Jamie Thomas punches wife, security guard in face during incident at Westin Hotel

33-year-old Jamie Thomas had a domestic incident with his wife, Sharon Oring, at the Westin Hotel in the early hours of April 7th. Security at the hotel alerted the authorities, and when officers arrived, they advised them that Thomas was extremely intoxicated and refused to leave the property. Officers located him behind the hotel near some stairs and asked him what had happened, to which he replied, “Absolutely nothing has occurred.” Security told the police that he had punched his wife and a security guard in the face. Oring confirmed that Thomas hit her in the face but did not know if it was open or closed-handed. She said she was hit during the altercation between Thomas and security. Thomas was taken into custody for domestic assault, criminal trespass, and public intoxication.

David Marroquin hits girlfriend, tries to take daughter from her during altercation

23-year-old David Andres Marroquin had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Jasmin Andrea Aldana Oliva, at their shared unit at The Knolls Apartments on April 8th. Upon arrival, officers were approached by multiple witnesses, who stated Marroquin and Oliva were in a “struggle,” pushing and pulling at each other. Witnesses added that Marroquin was trying to take Oliva’s daughter from her. Then, Oliva advised detectives that Marroquin had gotten drunk, so she wanted to leave their apartment. While she was trying to leave, Marroquin hit her on the left side of her face while trying to take her child. When officers asked Marroquin about the occurrence, he stated he did not know what happened. Marroquin was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Hunter Williams fights juveniles with his wife on Broadway after being kicked out of Honky Tonk Central

23-year-old Hunter Williams and his wife, Sabrina Smith, were seen outside Honky Tonk Central arguing with kids on April 5th. Officers observed Williams punching a lightbox outside Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row after he and his wife were kicked out. William seemed visibly irate and displayed several signs of intoxication. Shortly after, officers saw the couple across the street at Honky Tonk Central. Smith appeared to be calming Williams down until they both got into an argument with two disorderly juveniles. After arguing, a fight broke out between the four. Hunter Williams was then taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
