He admitted to having two alcoholic beverages before driving, consented to sobriety tests, and performed poorly. Kiser was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

19-year-old Connor Smith elbows mother in face leaving McDonald’s

19-year-old Connor Smith had a domestic dispute with his brother, Keith Smith, and mother, Karen Burrum, while on the way home from McDonald’s on Nolensville Pike the night of December 17th. Officers arrived at their shared residence on Roxanne Drive, spoke with them, and were advised that Keith was driving Connor and Karen home when Connor asked to go to McDonald’s. An argument ensued between Keith and Conor as they left McDonald’s, and it escalated when Connor unbuckled his seatbelt, reached over the center compartment, and swung, hitting Keith while he was still driving. Keith pulled over to the side of the road, and Karen got out of the vehicle to break up the physical altercation by opening Connor’s door. Amid the action, Connor hit her in the face with his elbow, resulting in significant swelling and bruising. She eventually broke up the fight, and Connor exited the vehicle. All parties refused medical attention, and Connor was taken into custody for two counts of domestic assault.

Cody Nelson drunkenly charges at friend group downtown, fights them

35-year-old Cody Edward Nelson had a scuffle on Broadway the morning of December 17th. Officers broke up the fight, and Nelson tried to flee. They told him not to leave and that he was detained, and he said, “No.” The other party involved advised officers that Nelson was following their group, began screaming at them, and charged at them when they were crossing the road. 44-year-old Ryan Hopes was standing by the back of his pickup truck as officers arrived at Briley Parkway regarding a domestic disturbance in the early hours of December 16th. He admitted to having driven the truck there and having drank 4-5 beers as well as some of the Jim Beam located in his vehicle. He was visibly intoxicated, refused to perform sobriety tests, and was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

27-year-old Hannah Brumley crashed her vehicle at the Dickerson Pike and Hart Lane intersection in the early hours of December 16th. Brumley was highly intoxicated when the officers arrived, stumbling as she walked. She consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and did not complete the tests. Officers read the implied consent form to her, and she refused, then she admitted to having two alcoholic beverages. A subsequent search yielded around a half ounce of marijuana in the front pocket of her overalls. 22-year-old Bryce Anderson refused to leave Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk in Downtown Nashville the night of December 15th. The complainant flagged down officers and advised them that Anderson had been told to leave the bar and snuck in three times. He did not wish to prosecute Anderson. Anderson was visibly intoxicated, as officers tried to ascertain where he was staying or if he had anyone who could take care of him but were unsuccessful. Anderson was deemed a danger to himself and taken into custody for public intoxication.
