He reeked of alcohol and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He blew 0.230% BAC on a breathalyzer, nearly three times the legal limit in Tennessee.

DUI: Tourists Salvador Gonzalez & Julissa Carrillo drive on closed Broadway downtown

33-year-old Salvador Gonzalez & 38-year-old Julissa Carrillo were jailed Saturday evening after driving onto a closed road on Broadway between 4th and 5th Avenue. The road was closed and marked with traffic cones, police in travel lanes, and barriers at intersections. Gonzalez, the driver, was flagged down and informed the road was closed. He stopped for a short period of time and then quickly sped off, causing his tires to screech, stopping again a short distance later. When police spoke with Gonzalez, they immediately noticed red, watery eyes and smelled alcohol coming from him. When the vehicle was searched, a small baggie and a small jar of marijuana were found weighing 3.6 grams. Carrillo was the passenger; once she got out of the vehicle, she was very disruptive while police tried to interview Gonalez. Carrillo was shouting and trying to walk toward him. She was given multiple warnings to stop and stay back but continued shouting and trying to disrupt the interview. She was booked for disorderly conduct.

DUI: Sam Driggers crashes car & parks in stranger’s backyard after a great game of pool

After 23-year-old Samantha Driggers drunkenly crashed her car early Tuesday morning and ended up in a stranger’s backyard, she told police she wanted to tell them everything that happened. She explained she had been out at a local bar playing pool and had three beers and two shots of tequila. She said she was feeling good because she had won her last game of pool. She decided to drive home but became lost on Woodlawn Ave, where she crashed into a parked car. She then drove into a neighboring backyard and parked her vehicle, which is where police found her. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking.

DUI: Gibson Harrison crashes after drinking at the East Room

24-year-old Gibson Harrison told police he “thought he was OK to drive” after drinking at the East Room in the early hours of Sunday morning and then being involved in a crash in his car. He further clarified he had three shots of vodka while at the bar. He fumbled for insurance and other cards, unable to produce the correct ones during the interaction. The other involved driver was transported to the hospital for minor injuries, and Harrison stated he wanted to cooperate with the police and consented to a blood draw before being transported to jail.

DUI: Joanna Green charged after falling asleep behind the wheel in downtown Nashville

27-year-old Joanna Green was jailed on Saturday night after falling asleep drunk at the wheel on 4th and Broadway and resisting arrest. Concerned citizens flagged down officers about a driver being passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle. When officers approached and evaluated her welfare, she was asked to do sobriety testing, but she kept stating how she needed to use the bathroom. She was unsteady on her feet, had slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol. Green was extremely uncooperative, argued, and caused injury to an officer, so she was transferred to a different patrol car. She would later blow a 0.151% on a breathalyzer.

25-year-old Makayla Coffman was jailed on Saturday night after hopping into the driver’s seat while drunk and driving away during a police investigation of the original driver, who was also driving under the influence. Officers were flagged down on 4th and Broadway by concerned citizens stating there was a driver asleep at the wheel. Officers removed the driver from the vehicle and began evaluating her welfare. Then Coffman, the passenger, woke up, got into the driver’s seat, and began driving away. The vehicle was stopped, and she was able to exit but was very unsteady on her feet, had slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol. She agreed to a sobriety test and performed poorly, and her breathalyzer returned a 0.98% BAC.

Jason Scott attempted to drive away from the airport in a rental car while drunk

42-year-old Jason Scott was charged with DUI Saturday morning after crashing a rental car into a pole in the rental area of the airport parking garage. Enterprise rental car had reported a drunk driver attempting to leave in a rental vehicle and backed up into a pole. Staff told police that Scott smelled heavily of alcohol and was turned away at the exit gate by Enterprise staff. When the officer approached Scott, he had glossy eyes and alcohol coming from his breath when he spoke. He agreed to sobriety testing and performed poorly.

Alycia Ackerman charged in late-night DUI after crash in Midtown

27-year-old Alycia Ackerman rear-ended another car at 18th & Charlotte in the early hours of Friday morning after leaving her friend’s house. As officers arrived, she attempted to walk away from them and was unsteady on her feet. She had trouble following directions to produce her identification and scattered all of her belongings on the ground. She was swaying during their interaction and smelled of “an excessive amount of perfume,” according to officers on the scene. She was cleared by medics and refused all testing. She was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
