35-year-old Fox17 television meteorologist Greg Bobos told police he consumed “a couple of mimosas” before crashing his car at the Kroger on Monroe Street on Christmas Eve. There were no injuries, only property damage, but the other involved individual observed that Bobos may have been impaired. Officers made contact with Bobos and immediately noticed alcohol coming from his breath, along with extremely watery eyes. Roman Betancourt-Garcia charged with drag racing on I-24 in Antioch

Officers observed him and a dark-colored Nissan traveling in and out of traffic at 105 miles per hour while racing. A traffic stop was conducted, officers spoke with Betancourt-Garcia, and he advised them he did not have a driver’s license. He was cited for drag racing. Betancourt-Garcia was booked on the citation on December 19th.

Officers observed this and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Shaw continued to drive off. Aviation units updated officers with his location as he eventually pulled into a driveway on Bell Arbor Drive. He was the only occupant of the Maxima and was taken into custody for evading arrest.

38-year-old Brian Barrett had an altercation with his father, Preston Barrett, on Seifried Street Thursday morning. Amarion Island assaults girlfriend at Bargain Hunt after cheating confrontation

19-year-old Amarion Island had a domestic disagreement with his girlfriend, Keanna Ashante Otey, at Bargain Hunt on Thursday afternoon. Officers responded and spoke with Otey, who advised them that she and Island drove to Bargain Hunt to shop and began arguing regarding Island’s alleged infidelity. The altercation continued in the store, so she went outside to de-escalate the situation. Then, she said Island started punching her, causing her to fall to the ground and striking her face repeatedly. She threatened to have her brother beat him up. Officers observed the visible injuries she sustained. Island spoke with them and confirmed that an argument occurred. He stated he became angry when she threatened to have someone shoot at his mother’s house, which she denied. Island was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Refat Kaldas assaults wife with metal broomstick

48-year-old Refat Kaldas had a domestic dispute with his wife, Tawadrous Nahed, at Dabbs Court on July 12th. Karam Hanna, a witness, the leader of the church they attend, and translator, advised officers that Kaldas hit Nahed with a metal broomstick, causing a piece of the broom to break on July 9th. Hanna stated that Nahed had sought help from the church for previous domestic incidents, and officers observed discoloration on Nahed’s hand. She did not wish to prosecute, but officers had enough probable cause for an arrest warrant. Kaldas was taken into custody for aggravated assault on December 14th.

DUI: Riley Chlebik drives his scooter into a car in downtown Nashville

27-year-old Riley Nicholas Chlebik was involved in a vehicle vs. scooter accident at the Elm Street and 3rd Avenue South intersection on October 11th. Chlebik was being placed into the back of an ambulance when officers arrived. They spoke with the car’s driver, who stated that Chlebik ran through a stop sign and was turning into the front of his vehicle. Chlebik advised officers that he was going home from work and admitted to drinking before driving, stating, “I am probably over the legal limit.” Officers observed him to be visibly intoxicated and transported him to Vanderbilt Hospital, where he did not know whether he hit a person or a car with his scooter. He was booked on a citation for driving under the influence on December 12th.

Faith Wilder says she stole from Carter’s for her kid’s Christmas & apologizes to police

28-year-old Faith Wilder stole from Carter’s in Opry Mills Mall on November 24th. Officers were flagged down by Aleko Szellan, the manager at Carter’s, and advised about the incident. They observed Wilder in a store nearby, matching the description provided, and detained her. She told them, “I’m sorry,” while admitting to stealing the items for her children for Christmas. Officers noticed a prior theft she was convicted of and cited her. She was booked on the theft citation on December 19th.
