48-year-old Refat Kaldas had a domestic dispute with his wife, Tawadrous Nahed, at Dabbs Court on July 12th. Karam Hanna, a witness, the leader of the church they attend, and translator, advised officers that Kaldas hit Nahed with a metal broomstick, causing a piece of the broom to break on July 9th. Hanna stated that Nahed had sought help from the church for previous domestic incidents, and officers observed discoloration on Nahed’s hand. She did not wish to prosecute, but officers had enough probable cause for an arrest warrant. Kaldas was taken into custody for aggravated assault on December 14th.
