DUI: Victoria Walker tells police she doesn’t recall crashing car, lies about picking up friend

30-year-old Victoria Walker was jailed on February 18th after crashing at Harding Place. Walker told officers that she was on her way home to Lebanon from a friend’s house in Hermitage. Officers explained to Walker that the crash happened in Antioch outside the normal path taken from Hermitage to Lebanon. Walker then stated that she had taken a friend home but when officers asked for the friend’s name, she didn’t know it. Walker stated she left her friend’s house at 2 am on February 18th. However, the crash occurred 6 hours later at 8:15 am, and Walker was unable to account for the 6-hour time gap. Walker stated she didn’t recall the crash and was asked to consent to sobriety tests. Walker performed poorly and was taken into custody.

Synthia Parks drunkenly bites boyfriend in back during altercation

61-year-old Synthia Parks had a domestic incident with her boyfriend, Myron Green, at their shared residence on Tanglewood Court on February 18th. Officers arrived and spoke with Green, who stated he was lying down on the couch in the living room when Parks, who had been drinking heavily, started yelling at him and bit his back. Green said he punched her on the left side of her face in self-defense to get her to stop biting him. Detectives interviewed Parks, and she told them that she was in her bedroom when Green came in and punched her because she was “running her mouth.” Then, Parks said after she got hit, she started fighting him and eventually bit him. Officers deemed Parks as the primary aggressor, and she was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Derek Pinder assaults girlfriend after she wakes up in “A P*ssy Mood”

20-year-old Derek Pinder had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Johnyae Hooten, at their Hickory Hollow terrace residence on the afternoon of February 19th. When officers arrived, Pinder told them that Hooten had awakened from a nap in “A pissy mood.” Pinder stated that they began yelling at each other and told officers, “One thing led to another, and I hit her.” Officers then spoke with Hooten, who advised that Pinder thought she was talking stupidly, causing him to hit and kick her. Officers observed redness on her body from the incident and deemed Pinder as the primary aggressor before placing him in custody for domestic assault.

Zane Oxley booked after drunkenly refusing to leave Martin’s Bar-B-Que

 36-year-old Zane Oxley was booked on February 18th for being disorderly at Martin’s Bar-B-Que on 4th Avenue. When officers arrived, they observed a group of individuals on the ground and separated them. Officers then ordered the group to leave the area. Oxley was ordered to leave several times by police. Oxley’s friend tried to pull him away to leave, but Oxley refused and became hostile toward officers. Officers ordered Oxley to leave once again, but he refused and clenched his fists as he approached the officers. Oxley was unsteady on his feet and smelled of alcohol. Oxley was given multiple opportunities to walk away but continued to ignore police. Zane Oxley was taken into custody for public intoxication.

William Greenlaw removed from Uber ride after forgetting where his hotel is

25-year-old William Mark Greenlaw had to be removed from an Uber in the early hours of February 18th. The Uber driver requested officers to assist in getting Greenlaw out of his vehicle due to his intoxication level. Officers arrived and noticed a strong alcoholic odor on Greenlaw’s breath as he advised them that he could not remember where he was staying that night. Greenlaw was deemed unable to take care of himself and was taken into custody for public intoxication. During the transport to booking, he vomited twice in the back of the patrol car.

DUI: Austin Lance drinks 4-pack of beer before causing accident, unsure how it happened

25-year-old Austin Lance was booked on February 18th after causing an accident on Edmondson Pike and Ashlawn Place. When the officer arrived, Lance said that he had hit another car but was unsure how it had happened. Lance appeared confused, had difficulty answering questions, and smelled of alcohol. Lance performed poorly on sobriety tests and admitted to drinking a four-pack of beer and a shot of vodka earlier that morning.  Lance was then taken into custody for DUI.

DUI: Joshua Thomas has 2-3 margaritas before speeding down I-40 East at 96mph

22-year-old Joshua Tristan Thomas sped on Interstate 40 East, driving at 96 mph in a 70-mph zone on February 17th. Officers observed this and activated their emergency equipment, initiating a traffic stop. Thomas pulled over to the right shoulder on the Exit 219 ramp. Officers approached, advising Thomas that he was going 26 mph over the posted limit, and asked for his driver’s credentials. Thomas told them he was coming from downtown Nashville and heading to his hotel, which was 5-10 minutes away. During their conversation, Thomas admitted to having 2-3 Margaritas earlier in the evening before consenting to sobriety tests and performing poorly. After being informed of implied consent, Thomas agreed to provide a blood sample and was transported to St. Thomas Midtown for the draw. Thomas was cited for speeding and then taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Donald Miller drinks before crashing work van into multiple vehicles

28-year-old Donald Miller was involved in a three-vehicle accident on I-24 late February 16th. Officers arrived and spoke with Miller, who advised them he was driving his white work van. Officers noticed him showing signs of impairment as he consented to sobriety tests, which he performed poorly on. After being informed of implied consent, Miller agreed to provide a blood sample. Miller was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Jordyn Denham assaults roommate during confrontation about microaggressions

20-year-old Jordyn Benet Denham and her friend, Mikayla Shaw, had a domestic dispute with her roommate, Shaniya Manae Peters, at Fisk University on the afternoon of February 2nd. On February 4th, officers were dispatched to Shane Hall of Fisk University and spoke with Peters, who advised that she confronted Denham about what she believed were microaggressions. Then, Denham left the room, returned 10 minutes later with Shaw, and initiated a verbal altercation. During this, Denham started pushing Peters with her chest and hands before striking her in the face. Shaw then joined in, and they took Peters to the floor, holding her there, asking her to stay to talk to them. Peters eventually freed herself and ran out of the room, which ended the scuffle. Officers observed multiple lacerations on the right side of Peters’ face as she advised that the incident caused a crack in the drywall. Denham was deemed as the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault on February 16th.

Alabama Tourist Freddie Kirby assaults girlfriend after she compliments singer at Whiskey River Saloon

25-year-old Alabama Tourist Freddie Fernando Kirby had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Adorien Jashea Covington, in downtown Nashville on February 15th. On February 16th, Covington spoke with officers when they arrived, telling them that she and Kirby went to a Predators game the day before and then went to Whiskey River Saloon shortly after. Covington stated she commented on the band singer’s attractiveness, which upset Kirby. This sparked an argument outside the bar, which turned physical when Kirby pushed her to the ground. Then, when they were on their way home in an Uber, Kirby was hitting her repeatedly, leaving visible injuries, so Covington exited the Uber and walked home. Covington said that she woke up around 5 a.m. to Kirby hitting her again. Covington suffered from a busted lip, a swollen eye, a laceration on her left shin, and bloodstains on her clothes. Detectives then spoke with Kirby, who told them he and Covington argued in downtown Nashville. Kirby stated the argument turned into a physical scuffle when she hit him, causing a minor laceration to his cheek. Kirby told officers that the injuries Covington suffered were in self-defense. Kirby was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.
