33-year-old Florida tourist Idailis Valladares stole merchandise from Nordstrom on Abbott Martin Road on March 14th. Joey Rodriguez, a Nordstrom loss prevention officer, observed this, detained her, and then alerted the authorities. When officers arrived, Rodriguez provided them with footage showing Valladares and an unidentified male grabbing multiple perfume bottles and putting them in her bag. After concealing about $2000 worth of merchandise, they tried to exit the store without paying. Rodriguez apprehended Valladares as she attempted to exit the store. Valladares was taken into custody for theft on March 14th.

Maria Rondon Valbuena caught driving stolen car, tells police she was renting it from “A guy on WhatsApp”
26-year-old Maria De Los Angeles Rondon Valbuena drove a stolen Mazda CX-9 down Terminal Drive on the afternoon of February 8th. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, Valbuena stated she was “renting the vehicle from a guy on WhatsApp for $150 a month.” She added that she only had the car for a month. Valbuena was cited for the incident. Valbuena was booked on the citation of theft on March 11th.
Brett Forrest jailed on Florida warrant after stealing $885 in merchandise at Green Hills Mall
64-year-old Brett Forrest stole merchandise from Nordstrom and Macy’s on Hillsboro Pike on March 10th. Patrick Page, a loss prevention associate, alerted the authorities, advising them that he observed Forrest grab two pairs of sunglasses, valued at $293, and put them in his pocket before leaving the store. Page provided officers with footage of the incident. Page detained Forrest and searched him, locating additional merchandise stolen from Nordstrom with the price tags still on them. Page then notified Nordstrom’s loss prevention associate, Gabriel Ertmer, who went over to obtain the items with price tags valued at $592. Detectives ran his information and found that he had a valid outstanding warrant out of Sarasota County, Florida, with full extradition, so officers contacted them and confirmed it. Forrest was taken into custody for being a fugitive from justice and two counts of theft of merchandise.
Kimbrasha Beard caught driving stolen Nissan Maxima
23-year-old Kimbrasha Beard was found in a stolen Maroon Nissan Maxima at the Kroger on Mt View Road on March 8th. Detectives located the Nissan Maxima at Hickory Club Drive, where they followed it until they arrived at the mentioned location. They observed Beard get out of the vehicle and enter the Kroger. When she exited, she was detained by the law enforcement on standby. Beard allowed detectives to unlock and run the VIN on the doorframe, which confirmed that the car was stolen.
Ripley Torbett, serial Target shoplifter, caught after two-month streak
24-year-old Ripley Grace Torbett stole merchandise from multiple Target locations between October and December 2023. On October 29th, at the Target on Old Hickory Boulevard, there is video footage showing Torbett taking a $149.99 Little Tikes Toy, a $549.99 Elvie Breast Pump, and a third unknown item up to the self-checkout and scanning them as $2.39 Himalayan Sea Salt. Then, she completed the transaction for the sea salt and left with the other three items, which she did not scan or pay for. The total value of the stolen items was $699.98. On November 8th, at the Target on Lebanon Pike, there is footage showing Torbett gathering $572 worth of merchandise before taking them to the self-checkout, scanning two items that were worth $1 each, and leaving without scanning or paying for the other two, increasing the total of items she stole from Target to $1,271.98. On December 6th, at Target on Charlotte Pike, there is video footage of Torbett going to the self-checkout pretending to ring up merchandise by waving the scanner over multiple items in her cart. She then used an EBT card to pay for $9.56 worth of grocery items but not for the other items, which totaled $607.71, and then left. Lydia Wheeler, a loss prevention employee for Target, submitted this shoplifting report to detectives with an identification sheet from the Murfreesboro Police Department. After reviewing the provided evidence, detectives were able to identify Torbett and she was taken into custody for two counts of theft on March 6th.
18-Year-Old Keronte Caldwell steals multiple ski masks worth $100 from Opry Mills Mall
18-year-old Keronte Caldwell stole from Sun and Ski Sports in Opry Mills Mall on the evening of March 7th. When officers arrived, they spoke with the store manager, who advised them that Caldwell entered the store and went to the ski mask section of the store, handling several masks suspiciously. The manager approached Caldwell and witnessed him putting three to seven ski masks inside his backpack and pants, totaling around $100. The manager then told Caldwell to leave the store and that the police would be called. Caldwell left the store without paying and was spotted outside by officers. Caldwell was detained after a brief pursuit toward the wood line on the outskirts of the mall. Caldwell consented to a search where officers located the ski masks in his hoodie pocket. Caldwell was taken into custody for theft and evading arrest.
18-year-old Antonio Tucker Jr. caught stealing ski masks worth $57 at Opry Mills Mall
18-year-old Antonio Lamont Tucker Jr. stole from Sun and Ski Sports in Opry Mills Mall on December 28th, 2023. A Sun and Ski Sports employee, Randi Butler, alerted the authorities, reporting that Tucker took two ski masks and put them in his pocket as he tried to exit the store. Butler stopped Tucker Jr. and recovered the two masks, totaling $57, with one being damaged by Tucker Jr. ripping the security sensor off. Tucker Jr. was cited for the incident. Tucker was booked on the citation of theft on March 7th.
18-year-old Dorian Preston jailed after stealing Honda Civic, fleeing police
18-year-old Dorian Preston was taken into custody for theft of property, evading arrest, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and vehicle theft on February 27th. On February 26th, detectives located and followed a stolen, dark-colored Honda Civic behind Green Street, which was a dead end. Then, four young black males dressed in dark clothing exited the Civic and began to flee on foot, disregarding the officers announcing themselves. Preston was seen exiting the driver’s seat, wearing a red hoodie he removed while fleeing. Officers caught him with the help of Metro Aviation and discovered two of the involved individuals were juveniles. Dorian Preston was taken into custody on February 27th for vehicle theft, theft of property, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and evading arrest.
19-year-old Aniya Kirk assaults ex-girlfriend for no reason #Snatched
19-year-old Aniya Kirk had a domestic dispute with her ex-girlfriend, Antwionette Mason, at her Creekwood Drive apartment in the early hours of February 18th. Officers arrived and observed Kirk banging on the apartment door and screaming. Officers detained and placed Kirk in the patrol car to keep her warm. Ms. Mason spoke with officers, advising them Kirk had come to the apartment. She initially allowed her inside to vent about her night drinking at the club. Then, Mason said Kirk tackled her to the ground out of nowhere and began punching her in the face until she was able to lock herself in her bedroom. Ms. Mason stated that Kirk started kicking the bedroom door, causing it to break. Once inside the bedroom, Kirk began to punch Mason in the face again until Akeyla Allen, Mason’s friend, physically removed her and put her outside. Allen provided a statement to officers consistent with Ms. Mason’s. Once Kirk was in custody, Allen advised officers that her iPhone 14 was missing and believed Kirk had stolen it. She used the Find My iPhone app, which started pinging near Kirk, and officers located it after searching her. The iPhone 14 is worth approximately $1200. Kirk was charged with domestic assault and felony theft.
Dennis Pethke jailed after stealing $459,485 worth of his brother-in-law’s belongings
30-year-old Dennis Michael Pethke housesat for his brother-in-law, William Richey Jr., and his family while they were out of town from February 8th to February 11th. When they returned, they discovered several missing items, including high-end, luxury designer clothing, jewelry, handbags, and collectibles. They asked Pethke if anyone else had been in the house or if the doors had been unlocked while they were gone, and he told them that he was the only one in there. Then, after Richey Jr. told him that he alerted the authorities, Pethke called them and can be heard on a recorded call admitting to stealing over 200 items and selling them to pawn shops, consignment stores, and online retailers. Detectives located and placed a hold on one of the reported jewelry items in a pawn shop out of Murfreesboro. They discovered the seller was Pethke after verifying him by his Tennessee driver’s license. Officers were provided with text messages between the owner of a consignment store and Pethke, stating he wanted to sell several items listed in the police report. The owner was cooperative with the Richey family and willingly returned their items. The owner of the two other stores confirmed that Pethke sold the items and advised officers that he called them, stating he needed to retrieve them because they were stolen. The total cost of the stolen belongings was $459,485 at the time, but they had not finished tallying all their missing things and had only recovered 25 out of the 200 listed. Pethke was taken into custody for theft of property on February 21st.
