19-year-old Amarion Island had a domestic disagreement with his girlfriend, Keanna Ashante Otey, at Bargain Hunt on Thursday afternoon. Officers responded and spoke with Otey, who advised them that she and Island drove to Bargain Hunt to shop and began arguing regarding Island’s alleged infidelity. The altercation continued in the store, so she went outside to de-escalate the situation. Then, she said Island started punching her, causing her to fall to the ground and striking her face repeatedly. She threatened to have her brother beat him up. Officers observed the visible injuries she sustained. Island spoke with them and confirmed that an argument occurred. He stated he became angry when she threatened to have someone shoot at his mother’s house, which she denied. Island was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Refat Kaldas assaults wife with metal broomstick

48-year-old Refat Kaldas had a domestic dispute with his wife, Tawadrous Nahed, at Dabbs Court on July 12th. Karam Hanna, a witness, the leader of the church they attend, and translator, advised officers that Kaldas hit Nahed with a metal broomstick, causing a piece of the broom to break on July 9th. Hanna stated that Nahed had sought help from the church for previous domestic incidents, and officers observed discoloration on Nahed’s hand. She did not wish to prosecute, but officers had enough probable cause for an arrest warrant. Kaldas was taken into custody for aggravated assault on December 14th.

DUI: Riley Chlebik drives his scooter into a car in downtown Nashville

27-year-old Riley Nicholas Chlebik was involved in a vehicle vs. scooter accident at the Elm Street and 3rd Avenue South intersection on October 11th. Chlebik was being placed into the back of an ambulance when officers arrived. They spoke with the car’s driver, who stated that Chlebik ran through a stop sign and was turning into the front of his vehicle. Chlebik advised officers that he was going home from work and admitted to drinking before driving, stating, “I am probably over the legal limit.” Officers observed him to be visibly intoxicated and transported him to Vanderbilt Hospital, where he did not know whether he hit a person or a car with his scooter. He was booked on a citation for driving under the influence on December 12th.

28-year-old Faith Wilder stole from Carter’s in Opry Mills Mall on November 24th. Officers were flagged down by Aleko Szellan, the manager at Carter’s, and advised about the incident. They observed Wilder in a store nearby, matching the description provided, and detained her. She told them, “I’m sorry,” while admitting to stealing the items for her children for Christmas. Officers noticed a prior theft she was convicted of and cited her. She was booked on the theft citation on December 19th.

Throuple Throwdown — Zaida Johnson assaults boyfriend’s wife during argument

Officers arrived and observed Rashanda Harris standing in the living room, holding knives, claiming that Johnson was an intruder. Further investigation revealed Johnson as their third partner, making the trio a throuple. Johnson advised them she was mad about Rashanda breaking the window of Johnson’s apartment in an incident earlier in the day, so she came to their residence to confront Harris. Then, Johnson entered the unlocked apartment, and a scuffle ensued between her and Harris. Johnson stated that she did not initiate the fight, but both Sommerville and Harris said she did by pulling Harris’ hair. Johnson also admitted to damaging their TV because she was angry. Zaida Johnson was taken into custody for domestic assault and vandalism. The other two throuple members have a history of violence as well.

Solecia Byrd grabs sister by hair, hits her multiple times in head during argument

32-year-old Solecia Byrd had a scuffle with her sister, Roneka Byrd, at an apartment complex on Lebanon Pike in the early hours of October 27th. Roneka advised officers that she let her sister stay at her apartment because Solecia’s lights were not working. She was watching her friend’s children, and Solecia began to yell at them to quiet down because she was trying to sleep. Roneka told her she did not like how she was handling the kids and to leave if it was going to be an issue. Solecia told her to make her leave, sparking an argument, then she grabbed Roneka by her hair and began to strike her repeatedly in the head and spit on her. Officers observed a small cut and dried-up blood in Roneka’s ear. Roneka did not wish to prosecute. However, officers chose to prosecute on Roneka’s behalf. Solecia was taken into custody for domestic assault on December 18th.

David Garner drunkenly refuses to leave Opryland Hotel, declares he is a “Federal Agent”

41-year-old David Garner was at the Opryland Hotel on Opry Mills Drive in the late hours of December 20th when he refused to leave after being asked to. When officers arrived, they met with the Opryland Hotel Security staff, who told officers that there was an assault incident that occurred on the General Jackson Boat dock involving Garner and his female friend. Security asked Garner and his friend to leave because of the incident but refused to tell them their room numbers or leave the property. Officers spoke with Garner, who seemed intoxicated. When officers told Garner that he would be arrested if he did not leave, he became aggressive and argumentative. After half an hour of arguing with Garner, the officers escorted him to the lobby and ordered a taxi. Instead of getting in the taxi, Garner declared he was a “federal agent” and approached a hotel employee, becoming verbally aggressive. Garner was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespassing.

18-year-old Luis Alvizo stands in traffic on Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge, throws items at vehicles

18-year-old Luis Alvizo was seen standing in the middle of the road on the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge, stopping traffic and throwing items on December 20th. Alvizo was seen by multiple witnesses, including Deputy Judd of Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, who radioed that Alvizo was throwing something in front of a car. Alvizo then walked into the deputy’s personal space in a threatening manner. Law enforcement determined that Alvizo was creating a hazardous condition without any legitimate reason and was doing it in a threatening manner. Alvizo was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.
