Kalle Corbin forces her way into ex-husband’s sister’s home, assaults her & takes children

39-year-old Kalle Corbin was jailed on April 21st after forcing her way into her ex-husband’s sister’s house on Deerwood Road to take her children. The Children were with their aunt, Christina Stephenson, being bathed when their mother arrived to drop off some items for them. Christina knew she was coming and went to open the door. Corbin told her she wanted to come inside and take the kids. Christina said no because it was her brother’s weekend with the kids. Corbin argued with her, forced open the screen door, and grabbed her arms to try to get in the house. Christina tried to shut the main door and used her back to hold the door closed, but Corbin got in. Christina recorded Corbin leaving with her children, but they were brought back later on that day after a conversation with her ex-husband. Christina was left with a red mark from hitting her back on the door during the struggle.

Shelly Sayles-Williams breaks daughter’s glasses in an argument over money

39-year-old Shelly Sayles-Williams was jailed after assaulting her daughter after an argument about money. Police spoke with Miguela Bartley, who said she and her mother argued earlier in the day over money. The argument seemed to have calmed down, and they went their separate ways in the home. Later, Shelly came into her room and started throwing things around, smashing things, and telling her she had to leave the house. Miguela tried to push her mother out of the room, and that’s when Shelly scratched her face and broke her glasses. The fight stopped when Shelly’s husband entered the room and pulled her off her daughter. Miguela then called the police and waited out front of the apartment for them. Officers saw her scratched face and broken glasses and took pictures of the injuries.

Alejandro Menijivar Maldonado bites the mother of his ex-girlfriend during assault

22-year-old Alejandro Menjivar Maldonado was jailed on April 28th after assaulting Esperanza Pascual Perez during an argument about the relationship he had with her daughter. Police responded to Pettus Road and spoke with Esperanza, who said after the argument, Alejandro grabbed her by her hair, so she grabbed him back, trying to free herself. Then he bit her and punched her on her arm. She had visible bruising and swelling to her right arm, and Alejandro had no visible injuries.

Tourist Timothy Confair jailed for assault of wife in Nashville hotel room

49-year-old tourist Timothy Confair was jailed after holding his wife down against her will after a night of drinking downtown. Police spoke with Tammie Confair, who had visible cuts on her hands. When she got back to the hotel room, she started packing her things. When Timothy returned to the room, he pushed her onto the bed and held her down by squeezing her hands. She was eventually able to push him off with her legs. Timothy told police that he only held his wife down so she wouldn’t try to leave the hotel and drive while she was drunk. They spent the night together, and Tammie called the police in the morning.

Florida man Andrew Holland charged in assault of wife in Nashville Dream Hotel

36-year-old Andrew Holland was jailed this week while in town with his wife, Anna Maria Burgos. The Florida couple was staying at the Dream Hotel in downtown Nashville, where just before 5 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a domestic disturbance call. The two had an argument while out at dinner, which continued as they returned to the hotel room. She says that Andrew suddenly pushed her, shoved her to the ground, struck her in the face, and struck her with a pillow. As she further detailed the assault, she said he pressed his fingers on her eyes and strangled her for a period of time. Officers documented multiple injuries on the victim and took Andrew into custody.

Laniece Gethers charged after punching husband in face as kids overheard while playing video games

45-year-old Laniece Gethers was jailed on April 8th after beating up her husband at their home on Summercrest Court and spoke with Jeffrey Gethers, who said he and his wife got into an argument while he was heading upstairs to go to sleep. The argument escalated, and Laniece punched him in the face, just above his left eye, causing visible injury. Officers spoke with two juveniles who were present during the incident. Jeffrey’s son told police he was playing a video game and heard both parties fighting and his dad yelling, “STOP HITTING ME, GET OFF ME!” Jeffrey’s daughter told police that she heard her dad yell for her to come help, and she witnessed Laniece punching him.

Layna Prince slaps boyfriend when he confronts her about dancing with other people

25-year-old Layna Prince was jailed on March 31st after police saw her and her boyfriend, Thomas Hoen, arguing in the street in downtown Nashville. Officers observed the argument taking place and went over to check on them. Hoen was bleeding from his top lip. He told police they had been at the bar a few minutes before and started arguing about Prince dancing with other people. He said that Prince slapped and scratched his face after he confronted her, and she was taken into custody due to his injuries.

Joey Ortega knocks his boyfriend out with a punch to the face at Tootsie’s in downtown Nashville

Metro Nashville Police say 35-year-old Joey Ortega punched his boyfriend, Andrew Beck, in the face as they were approached the couple outside Tootsie’s on Broadway in downtown Nashville Friday night. A verbal argument attracted the attention of police initially, and as they approached, Ortega cocked his fist back and released it, landing his boyfriend on the sidewalk. He was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault with bodily injury.

Nathaniel Berg & Leslie McDowell — it’s a lot to unpack

41-year-old Nathaniel Berg & 41-year-old Leslie McDowell were jailed over an argument about drugs that turned violent at his home on Baxter avenue. Leslie told police that she had her friend Angela Segroves over for dinner. Leslie and her boyfriend Nathaniel got into an argument when Nathaniel asked her for drugs, and she responded, “I do not have any.” Nathaniel became upset with that response and told her to leave and grab all of her belongings. As she was leaving, Nathaniel started grabbing her things back, leading to a tug-of-war over her belongings.

During the altercation, Leslie’s right ear got hit by a doorframe. She also said that she was pinned down by her arms by Nathaniel. The altercation ended when Leslie and Angela left the house. When police questioned Nathaniel, he told them that Leslie treated his home like a storage unit and that when he told her he wanted her and her friend out of his house, she got upset and tried to fight him, and that’s why he pinned her arms down, in self-defense. He told police that while her arms were pinned, Leslie managed to bite his cheek and pinch his thigh.

Police questioned the friend, Angela Segroves, who said what actually happened was that she and Leslie were eating; when Nathaniel came in, he told Leslie that she couldn’t eat the food in the house, but Leslie ignored him and kept eating. Nathaniel then got in her face. Leslie got up and went from room to room, trying to avoid Nathaniel until he grabbed her by both of her arms and shoved her to the ground, and had a screwdriver in his hand. She said that Leslie continued to fight while her side was being pushed up against a door frame, and then she was picked up and physically thrown out of the house by Nathaniel. They were both taken to booking.

Wakenya Rayonna threatens to leave child home alone; assaults boyfriend

21-year-old Wakenya Rayonna was jailed on March 27th after attacking her boyfriend when he took their child after she threatened to leave the child alone at their home. Xavier Barnett told police that while he was at the gym, he received a text message from Rayonna saying that she was going to leave the baby alone if he didn’t come and get him. Barnett left the gym and as he was driving home, he saw Rayonna walking with their son, so he stopped to talk. They started to argue so he placed his son into the car seat, so he wasn’t in the middle of the situation. Barnett asked Rayonna for the keys to the house, but she refused and demanded her son back. When Barnett refused, she started hitting him. Bystanders were able to separate them before the police arrived. When police asked Rayonna what happened she told them that she assaulted Barnett because he wouldn’t give her the child back.
