Ariana Alexander charged with DUI and disorderly conduct after traffic stop for tint

22-year-old Ariana Alexander was seen revving her Lexus SUV’s engine at the intersection of Elm Hill Pike and Fesslers Lane by police on September 13th after midnight. Police reported that her window tint was too dark, and she accelerated quickly, not stopping completely for a red light, turning onto Murfreesboro Pike. She then sped above the posted 40 mph speed limit before the officer conducted a traffic stop.

Police approached Ariana’s vehicle, which smelled of marijuana, and her breath smelled of alcohol. Police reported that in plain view was a burnt marijuana cigarette, so they asked Ariana to exit the vehicle and perform sobriety tests. Ariana told police that she had one shot before the end of her work shift at 6 p.m. and smoked some marijuana the day before. Reportedly, she was loud, belligerent, and could not focus on the tasks she was told to do. Police detained her when she attempted to leave after she performed the tests. While she was detained, she began yelling at friends across the street to help her, yelled loud enough to stop patrons at the business across the street, and refused to stop screaming. She did not consent to any chemical testing. Police searched her vehicle, yielding an empty packet of aluminum foil, rolling papers, and a small amount of marijuana shake.

47-year-old Thomas Furey was found by police at the scene of an accident where he crashed into a utility pole off of 6th Ave and Mulberry on Friday night. Thomas’s truck was under the broken utility pole with an exposed wire draped over the vehicle’s top. The passenger side of his truck suffered extensive damage, causing him to be stuck inside the construction site right off the roadway. He was in the vehicle’s driver’s seat and attempting to reverse despite instructions to stop while emergency equipment attempted to free him. After being helped out of the vehicle, he swayed and told the Nashville Fire Department personnel that he only had two beers earlier that evening. Police asked him what city he was currently in, and he could not discern between Smyrna or Murfreesboro, but when later asked to clarify, he said Smyrna — he was in Nashville. He showed several signs of intoxication during sobriety tests. Police then placed him into custody for DUI.

Susan Denton jailed on DUI charge early Sunday morning

49-year-old Susan Denton was seen by police driving erratically in a Twice Daily parking lot around 1 a.m. on Sunday. Police watched Susan pull out from a parking spot at the Twice Daily into the middle of the road, stop, and then reverse back into the parking lot. After that, she moved forward and slammed on her brakes. She waited several minutes until a vehicle pulled behind her and used its horn. When she pulled out the second time, she headed towards the ramp onto I-65 with the officer behind her and swerved off the ramp left back towards the road. Police then conducted a traffic stop on Susan, and she told them that she had two drinks at a local club around 10 p.m. Saturday. During sobriety tests, she showed signs of intoxication, and police found a near-empty bottle of vodka with a cup of orange juice, smelling of alcohol, in her vehicle. After being placed into custody, she agreed to provide a breath sample, but the EC/IR machine malfunctioned, so she was asked to provide a blood sample. Susan said she was uncomfortable with needles and refused to give blood, so she was reminded that the other part of her implied consent stated that she could also be required to give blood. Police booked her into jail on her first DUI and implied consent charges.

Madison Booher jailed for DUI and drug possession after crashing downtown

24-year-old Madison Booher was booked early Sunday morning after nearly causing an accident on John Lewis Way. When police arrived, Christopher Gilbert was standing next to the driver’s side of a black Ford truck, telling officers that he and others were almost hit and believed the driver was drunk. The vehicle was running, and Booher was visibly agitated; her movements were jerky, and her speech was rapid and erratic. She told officers she was afraid because Gilbert had tried to open her door. She admitted to having one beer when the officers questioned her. Ms. Booher was told to put her truck in park and exit, but she refused and instead rolled up her windows and sped off. She stopped about 30 yards away, opened her door, and asked the police what they wanted from her. The officer grabbed her arm and ordered her to exit the vehicle multiple times before she complied.

Ms. Booher’s erratic behavior continued, and she spontaneously stated that she was high off weed before refusing to answer any further questions. The officers noticed Ms. Booher’s pupils were abnormally large, and when they shined a flashlight to check reactivity, her pupils didn’t constrict. She was placed under arrest for driving under the influence, and the search of her vehicle yielded a plastic container in the center console containing 2.9 grams of marijuana, a marijuana grinder, a glass smoking pipe with concentrated THC inside, and a plastic straw with a white powdery substance inside. There was a nearly empty bottle of Fireball on the passenger’s side floorboard, an empty bottle of Tito’s in the door panel, an empty bottle of Belvedere behind the driver seat, and a cup full of Vodka in the backseat.

Once awakened, Logan told police that he was waiting for a friend to pick him up since he knew he could not drive. He told them he had five to six shots and showed the police the text messages where he asked his friend to pick him up. The friend did not reply to his texts nor answer when called. Video footage showed Logan entering his vehicle around 10:45 p.m. and staying until police contacted him. Logan was placed into custody and vomited while in the patrol vehicle. Police flashed their lights at her after they saw her almost crash into another vehicle on Myatt Dr. When she pulled over in the center turn lane, she opened her door, and police saw a handgun under her driver’s seat. She refused to leave the vehicle when police commanded her to, so they had to pull her out. Keishonna resisted being placed into custody and refused to walk to the patrol car. Police noted the smell of alcohol on Keishonna and read her Miranda. While under Miranda, she willingly told police that she had drank “1 to 3 shots of Don Julio.” Police inventoried her vehicle and had it towed after she consented to a blood test.
