Steven Roberts charged with DUI after wife calls police and he flees the residence

36-year-old Steven Roberts was jailed after hitting the curb while driving drunk in front of the police on 24th Avenue. Robert’s wife called the police after he allegedly assaulted her. She told police he had been drinking heavily and left in his GMC Sierra pickup truck. While officers were speaking with Mrs. Roberts, Mr. Roberts drove by, hit the curb, and continued to swerve all over the road. Police could smell alcohol and saw two opened cans of Four Lokos inside the truck. The cans were empty, but there was some alcohol poured into a 7-Eleven cup. When Roberts exited his truck, he was swaying and slurring his words while he spoke with officers. He refused to do any sobriety testing and was transported to booking.

Sarah Pence charged with DUI, says she took Adderall but not alcohol

Police say 34-year-old Sarah Pence couldn’t keep her Kia Soul between the lines late Monday night as she drove on Long Hollow Pike. She drove almost to the middle of an intersection at a red traffic light and continued to cross both lines as an officer followed behind her. A traffic stop was initiated and Pence declared she was unaware she was driving erratically or incorrectly. She performed poorly on subsequent field sobriety tests and consented to a blood draw. She stated they would find Adderall in her system.

Cody Brom charged in daytime DUI in downtown Nashville

30-year-old Cody Brom is charged with driving under the influence after he drove the wrong way on 4th Ave S in downtown Nashville mid-day on Monday. Officers say his clothing was covered in vomit, and he stated he had “a lot” of alcohol. He was asked to perform field sobriety tests but stated, “It’s no use; I’m drunk!” Brom was transported to booking, where he blew a 0.21% BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: Cecil Nelson found passed out behind wheel, blocking interstate traffic on I-40 at 2 AM

Police say 24-year-old Cecil Nelson was passed out behind the wheel of a maroon GMC which was blocking all westbound lanes of I-40 in the early hours of Monday morning. His foot was on the brake, and the vehicle was running and in drive. Once he was awakened denied medical assistance, threw his hands up in the air, and demanded to know why he was being detained. He was visibly intoxicated and admitted to consuming a “couple of High Noon” beverages along with a Vegas Bomb. He stated he was on the way to pick up a friend when he was awakened by officers in the middle of the interstate. Nelson performed poorly on field sobriety tests and blew a 0.200% BAC on a breathalyzer.

Stephen Duke charged with DUI after birthday celebration at Jason Aldean’s bar

39-year-old Stephen Duke was jailed this week after speeding past State Troopers on I65 while drunk. The trooper clocked Duke at 113 MPH and pulled him over. The trooper could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle while questioning him. Duke said his birthday was on April 17th, so he and some friends went to Nashville to celebrate, and he had just left Jason Aldan Bar. He told the trooper he had his last drink about two hours ago. Once outside of the vehicle, Duke swayed as he spoke with the trooper, and he still smelled of alcohol. He agreed to sobriety tests and performed poorly. He informed the trooper that he had a loaded gun in his car. Duke’s criminal history showed he had been arrested in 2019 for a DUI and possession of a firearm under the influence.

Austin Coates charged with DUI in downtown Nashville

24-year-old Austin Coates was jailed this week after falling asleep behind the wheel of his pickup truck on Union Street in downtown Nashville. Police responded to calls about a vehicle blocking traffic and found Coates asleep in his truck. Officers knocked on the window to wake him. He was slow to respond, and his truck was still in drive. Officers asked him to put his vehicle in park and turn it off. While police spoke with Coates, they could smell alcohol coming from him and saw his bloodshot watery eyes. They asked him if he had been drinking, and he admitted to having two drinks earlier in the morning. He agreed to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was taken into custody.

DUI: Matthew Kirby Tritt charged after being found unconscious behind wheel of vehicle

33-year-old Matthew Tritt was initially found unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle in West Nashville early Sunday morning. As medical arrived and made contact with Tritt, he awakened and attempted to drive away. They were able to take the keys and prevent him from driving until the police arrived. Officers say Tritt reeked of alcohol and was visibly intoxicated. Tritt initially agreed to a breathalyzer but refused when taken to submit to the test.

Real Estate Investor Parker McCracken charged in DUI crash

30-year-old Nashville Real Estate Investor Parker McCracken ran his Lexus SUV off the roadway on E. Ashland Drive in the early hours of Saturday morning. He claimed he lost control due to the wet conditions and denied drinking any alcohol. Officers say McCracken reeked of alcohol and had slurred speech and glossy bloodshot eyes. McCracken refused all testing and was taken into custody, charged with driving under the influence. 

Nick Willhoite charged with daytime DUI in downtown Nashville after crash

Officers responded to a vehicle with front-end damage and a flat tire parked on 2nd Ave in the middle of downtown just after 3 p.m. Friday. Behind the wheel was 24-year-old Nicholas Willhoite, who told police he had just gone inside to use the restroom and when he came out, someone had crashed into his vehicle. Willhoite reeked of alcohol and was visibly intoxicated. A security guard observed that Willhoite parked the vehicle and got in and out several times before the police arrived, but the damage was already done to the vehicle when it parked it in the roadway. Willhoite eventually admitted to drinking a vodka/Redbull an hour prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.155% BAC on a breathalyzer.

Kathleen Daschbach smashes vehicle through BNA security gate

34-year-old Kathleen Daschbach was jailed on April 20th after she drove drunk through the entry gate arm of the BNA employee lot in her black Suburban. Police responded to the parking lot, where they were told by on-site security that Daschbach smashed through the gate arm and was driving erratically around the parking lot. If that wasn’t enough, she came back and smashed through the entrance gate arm a second time. Security tried to stop her, but she drove around them. She was instructed verbally by an officer to exit her vehicle, but she refused and had to be physically removed. When backup arrived, Daschbach was leaning up against her suburban, urinating on herself.

She had to be helped to the curb so she could sit down without falling over. She smelled strongly of alcohol, police asked if she had been drinking, and she said that she refused to answer any questions or say anything. During the vehicle search, officers noticed her rear bumper hanging off. Police also saw an open container of Strawberry Daquiri ClubTails spilled on the passenger’s side floorboard. There were three grams of marijuana scattered on the passenger’s side floorboard, a pipe in the center console, and a grinder in the ashtray. Daschbach had the title of the vehicle from the original owner, but it was never registered under her name. She also did not have car insurance. Daschbach refused sobriety tests, blood tests, and breath tests when asked. She was placed under arrest and refused to answer any questions from police.
