DUI: Ronnie Massey hits bus with juveniles on board after having “A couple” drinks

62-year-old Ronnie Massey was involved in a car crash at the intersection of Old Lebanon Dirt Road and Old Hickory Boulevard on April 16th. Driving in a 1985 Chevy Monte Carlo, Massey struck a Prevost Passenger Bus containing thirteen juveniles and two adults. Officers made contact with Massey and noticed a strong odor of alcohol as they approached him. Officers asked Massey, who appeared intoxicated if he had been drinking, and he replied, “A couple.” When asked how many a couple was, Massey responded, “two.” Massey consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. Ronnie Massey was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence on April 17th.

Jose Rodriguez allegedly threatens girlfriend with knife, holds her in room against her will

30-year-old Jose Enrique Gomez Rodriguez was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment on April 16th. At around 5:50 p.m., Emerson Armas called the police, stating that Rodriguez had a knife and was locked inside a room with Emerson’s sister, Karen Armas, who is also Rodriguez’s girlfriend, at their Martin Street residence. When officers arrived, they were let inside and went to the room, demanding Rodriguez to open it, which he complied with after a brief wait. Officers then escorted him to their patrol car and detained him. Afterward, officers spoke with Emerson, who stated he heard his sister arguing with Rodriguez, so he went upstairs to check on her. This is where he saw Rodriguez with a knife, which he pointed at him before closing the door. Then, Karen told officers that Rodriguez had called her when she was at work and had started an argument. When Karen returned home, she went to their room upstairs, where their argument continued. Karen then tried to leave the room, but Rodriguez pushed her aside and locked the door. During the investigation, officers recovered a serrated kitchen knife with a black handle near the bedroom door and turned it into evidence. Under Miranda, Rodriguez admitted hindering Karen from leaving their bedroom and holding the kitchen knife. Rodriguez was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.

Khalil Willis punches girlfriend in eye after making him get out of her car during argument

37-year-old Khalil Willis had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Itzel Negron, in her car near Gallatin Avenue on April 7th. On April 8th, around 12:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to Skyline Medical Center, where they spoke with Itzel. Itzel stated that on April 7th, she and Willis had a verbal altercation, during which she stopped her car and asked him to get out. Then, he punched her in the right eye, leaving bruising and swelling around it. After officers investigated, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Willis was taken into custody for domestic assault on April 16th.

Rosmary Soto-Inciarte grabs roommates face, punches her 8-10 times after being woken up

30-year-old Rosmary Soto-Inciarte had a domestic altercation with one of her roommates, Denia Irery Escudero-Martinez, at their Ruffian Way residence in the early hours of April 11th. Officers were dispatched to Harpeth Cleaners, where Escudero-Martinez works, to speak with her. Upon arrival, she told officers that she and her boyfriend, Irvin Martinez-Reyes, who also lives there, were trying to leave for work and noticed their car was blocked in. The couple went to Soto-Inciarte and her boyfriend’s room to ask them to move it. Escudero-Martinez said that Soto-Inciarte became angry because they were woken up and started arguing with them, during which Soto-Inciarte struck her 8 to 10 times on her arms and in her face. Escudero-Martinez said Soto-Inciarte, then grabbed her face and pulled her hair for several minutes until their boyfriends intervened. Escudero-Martinez showed officers the swelling and scratches on her face and a large bruise on her right arm. Then, she advised that she wished to prosecute for the incident and wanted to seek an Order of Protection when she got home from work. Soto-Inciarte was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Jacobi Austin assaults girlfriend at her workplace, tells police to shoot him

23-year-old Jacobi Austin had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Iyohnna Galloway, at her job on Marriott Drive in the afternoon of April 12th. When the officers arrived, they spoke with Galloway, who explained that she and Austin argued after she asked to use the car to get to work. Austin did not allow her to use the car, so she walked to work. Then, a few hours later, Austin showed up unannounced and started getting aggressive toward her for leaving. One of her co-workers, Dwight Williams, witnessed Austin start tensing up and had to tell him to calm down. Galloway stated she was scared and went downstairs to the lobby to be around other employees. After they spoke briefly, she entered the elevator to return to her workspace, where he followed. Once the elevator door closed, Austin pushed and pinned her several times on the wall. After investigating, officers obtained a warrant for Austin’s arrest and went to his listed address at The Highland on Briley Apartments to serve him. When they arrived, he was not there, so they checked the rear of the complex near the leasing office and located his vehicle. Officers then entered the gym, found him hiding, and detained him. While they were escorting Austin to their patrol car, he started resisting, stating that he needed officers to shoot him because he was not going to jail. Officers then placed him on the ground and hobbled him. When officers tried to put Austin in the car, he grabbed ahold of the rear door seal, damaged it, broke out of the hobbles, and tried to run away until officers finally caught him. Austin was taken into custody for resisting arrest, domestic assault, vandalism, and evading arrest on April 13th.

Anthony Evans booked after evading police while speeding down I-24 West

29-year-old Anthony Evans was speeding near Mile Marker 54 on I-24 West late at night on April 16th. Officers observed him going 90 mph in a 70 mph zone and tried to initiate a traffic stop. Evans proceeded to ignore their emergency equipment and kept driving. He got off at the Harding Place Exit, turned left onto Antioch Pike, and stopped once he reached his job at Space Park South. This is where officers detained Evans and cited him for speeding. Evans was then taken into custody for evading arrest on April 17th.

Donyale Jackson caught with used crack pipes after sleeping on Lindsley Avenue Church steps

50-year-old Donyale Jackson was sleeping on the steps at The Lindsley Avenue Church around 2:15 p.m. on March 15th. Officers observed this and confirmed that the Church had a valid trespass waiver. So, officers stopped Jackson and questioned him, during which he stated he had a knife and “pipes” in his pocket. Officers searched him and located four pipes: three glass and one metal, which appeared to have been used to smoke crack. He told them the last time he consumed crack was on March 14th. Officers cited him for the incident that day. Jackson failed to pay fines or appear in court, so he was booked on the citations for criminal trespass and the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia on April 12th.

Ashley Goble punches man multiple times, throws garbage all over his vehicle

34-year-old Ashley Goble had a domestic altercation with her current intimate partner, Joseph William Modic, at his General Patton Road residence around 11:40 a.m. on April 15th. When the officers arrived, they noticed Goble sitting on the curb, visibly upset, so they exited to speak to her. Goble stated she became angry and started throwing things inside Modic’s house before hitting him repeatedly. Then, Modic spoke with officers, advising them that Goble punched him in the chest four times while he was driving them home. Modic said everything calmed down when they got to his house until they had another conversation, where Goble became irate and started punching him while throwing things around. Modic said afterward, she went outside and threw garbage over his vehicle. He added that during the incident, Goble told him she would kill him several times. Goble was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Sydney Paler lunges at ex-boyfriend, punches him in face during argument

21-year-old Sydney Paler had a domestic altercation with her ex-boyfriend and roommate, Kielon Buford, at their Rice Road apartment late April 16th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Buford, who stated he and Paler had an argument over bills. Buford says the argument escalated when she became upset, lunged at him, and punched him in the face. He said they continued to scuffle on the ground until he grabbed her arms to prevent her from hitting him. Buford told officers they eventually got up and separated before he called the police. Then, officers spoke with Paler, who admitted to lunging at him and hitting him in the face because she was upset. Paler was then taken into custody for domestic assault.

Kaleb Keanaaina allegedly holds woman against her will at Rodeway Inn for a week

26-year-old Kaleb Ryan Keanaaina was taken into custody for aggravated kidnapping and fugitive from justice on April 15th. On April 14th, around 9:45 p.m., Autumn Wade went to the Central Precinct on Korean Veterans Boulevard to file a report, stating she had been held against her will by Keanaaina since April 6th. She told police that she moved from Morristown to do tattoo work with him and started living with him about a month ago. Then, Wade said on April 6th, she tried to leave, but he would not let her, and since then, he punched, strangled, and stomped her head, causing her to have multiple seizures. She said that Keanaaina knew she had a brain aneurysm and believed he was trying to rupture it. Wade added that he threatened her with a scalpel to hinder her from leaving. Due to her seizures, an ambulance was called, and she was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital. She provided officers with photos from April 6th, showing her with a black eye, blood around her eye, and scratches on her neck. Officers also noticed a bruise above her right eye, took pictures, and added them to the incident report. Officers checked Wade’s history and discovered it showed a report from April 6th, which was called in by a third-party caller, later identified as Keanaaina’s ex-girlfriend, Abby Rylon, who stated Wade texted her saying she was being held hostage at the Red Roof Inn. Officers went there on that day and could not locate Wade. Then, Rylon stated she went to the Rodeway Inn around 5:00 p.m. and “broke out” Wade, adding that Keanaaina had done this with her also. Then, on April 15th, around 3:30 a.m., officers arrived at Rodeway Inn to serve Keanaaina a warrant, located him, and detained him. While doing this, officers also discovered Keanaaina had an out-of-state warrant from Wisconsin.
