Savannah Grantt, 24, jailed after having sex with 17-year-old boyfriend

24-year-old Savannah Grantt had an altercation at her residence with an underage male whom she had been intimate with on January 29th. Officers initially responded to a domestic in progress, arrived, and discovered the age disparity, with him being 17 and her 24. He and Grantt argued over her seeing someone else, and it escalated physically. The juvenile’s mother was present and advised officers that Grantt and her son were in a sexual relationship. The juvenile victim told them that they had been dating for 8-9 months and had sex regularly in Wilson and Davidson County. Grantt admitted to having oral sex with him in the past after knowing his age but denied any penile intercourse. She said that they only had sex in Wilson County, and when asked why specifically there, she replied, “They did it where they could.” Due to her admission and JV’s age, Grantt was taken into custody for statutory rape.

Nashville Sheriff Corporal BJ Hayes charged after punching & strangling inmate

31-year-old Bryson ‘BJ’ Hayes, who is a Corporal at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, was jailed Monday on an outstanding felony warrant charging him with the felony aggravated assault and strangulation of an inmate in December. DCSO Investigators turned over video surveillance of the incident to Metro Nashville Police Detectives earlier this year. Police say the video clearly shows an inmate spitting on Hayws on two separate occasions. After the second occasion, Hayes begins to punch the inmate with a closed fist and throws him to the ground, where he places him in a chokehold restraint position. The victim told investigators he had trouble breathing while being restrained with the officer’s hands around his neck. During an interview, Hayes admitted to strangling the inmate and agreed he used unapproved tactics in response to the situation. Police interviewed multiple employees who also witnessed the incident.  

Jorge Cortez-Sanchez assaults girlfriend after she refuses to have sex with him

45-year-old Jorge Cortez-Sanchez had a domestic disturbance with his girlfriend, Cary Diaz, at their home on Hickory Trace Drive in the early hours of January 27th. Diaz spoke with the authorities when they arrived and advised them that Cortez-Sanchez had come home intoxicated, entered their bedroom, pinched her to wake up, and tried to slide her pajamas down. Then, she told Cortez-Sanchez to stop, which is when he got aggressive and tried to push her out of the room. Christopher Aguilar, a witness, told officers that he heard a commotion from Diaz’s room, so he went to check on her and saw Cortez-Sanchez on top of her, pinning her down. Christopher then exited the room and alerted authorities. Cortez-Sanchez spoke with officers and denied that any argument or altercation occurred. He said he was tired from work and that he and Diaz sat and talked until he went to sleep.  Cortez-Sanchez was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

DUI: Jackson Brady pulled over for fleeing accident, tells police he didn’t know

22-year-old Jackson Brady collided with a Toyota Tundra in his blue Kia on the interstate near Jefferson Street early January 28th. Officers located the two vehicles at the Stewarts Ferry Pike and Bell Road intersection and noticed the Tundra following the Kia. So, they activated their sirens, initiating a traffic stop on the Kia. Brady was slow to stop and exhibited many signs of intoxication during their interaction. Brady advised that he didn’t know he had hit a vehicle and consented to sobriety tests, where he performed poorly. Brady told them that he was going home from work, then admitted to consuming alcohol before driving. Brady was taken into custody for driving under the influence, failing to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to give information.

DUI: Shane Stoltzfus blows a 0.219% BAC after causing two-vehicle accident

31-year-old Shane Stoltzfus was involved in a two-vehicle accident near the West Trinity Lane and Brick Church Pike intersection in the early hours of January 28th. Officers observed the accident and spoke with Stoltzfus to render aid if needed. During questioning, he had a hard time getting his identification and showed signs of intoxication. Stoltzfus admitted to drinking 2-3 IPA beers at his job, consented to sobriety tests, and performed poorly. They informed him of implied consent, and he agreed to provide a breath sample, which resulted in 0.219 BAC%. Stoltzfus was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Nickolas Bell drinks before causing car accident

28-year-old Nickolas Levi Bell was involved in a car accident during the early hours of January 28th. As officers arrived, Bell advised them that he was the driver and admitted to alcohol consumption. Bell consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and provided a breath sample, resulting in 0.135 BAC%. Bell was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Deutsche Bank Broker Crosby Kisler attempts to bite officer in booking, says he is “an assassin trying to kill him”

35-year-old Crosby Kisler, broker at Deutsche Bank, had an incident at Whiskey Row in the early hours of January 29th. Whiskey Row security flagged officers down regarding a male, later identified as Kisler, who had fallen on the ground. When officers arrived, they noticed Kisler had visible injuries to his forehead and nose, using the building to balance himself. Kisler showed signs of intoxication as he told officers that the Whiskey Row security personnel “ganged up on him” and assaulted him as he tried to walk away. Security spoke with officers and informed them that they turned around and saw Kisler fall over. They attempted to help him up but had no other interaction with him. Officers tried to ask Kisler where he was staying. Kisler stated he was staying at a place that was paid for with his own money and refused to give them an address. Then, officers explained to him how they would need an address due to his level of impairment, but Kisler tried to leave, stating he was going to walk home. He was deemed a danger to himself and others, so they detained him. On the way to booking, Kisler gained an Irish accent, calling officers “c*nts” and “f*ggots,” saying they do nothing to better this country. Then, once at booking, Kisler said that Officer Sprouse was an assassin who was trying to kill him. Kisler stood up repeatedly, so Sprouse had to assist him back to the bench. Kisler then kicked Sprouse in the leg twice and tried to bite him. Kisler was taken into custody for two counts of assault on an officer and public intoxication.

Avery Martin drunkenly yells at strangers after police tell him to go home

23-year-old Avery Shane Martin was being rowdy near 3rd Avenue South and Molloy Street late January 28th. Officers contacted Martin, whom they recognized from an incident earlier in the night, and attempted to get him to go home. After walking away from the officers, Martin immediately started yelling at a group of people nearby. Officers observed Martin to be visibly intoxicated and determined his aggressive behavior would continue, so they detained him. Martin was taken into custody for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Jacob Andrews drunkenly causes over $2,000 in damage at Mellow Mushroom

25-year-old Jacob Aaron Andrews was rowdy at the Mellow Mushroom in Downtown Nashville on January 28th. Security advised police that Andrews had become hostile over an argument about the band. Security then asked him to leave, which he refused. Andrews repeatedly attempted to pull away from security as they escorted him outside the establishment. Andrews slammed himself into the door during the scuffle, causing $2,000 in damage. Andrews also kicked over the business sign in front of the Mellow Mushroom, which cost $50 in damage. Andrews remained belligerent as security from a neighboring business assisted in detaining him. Officers observed him visibly inebriated, lunging at the Mellow Mushroom staff, and determined he was dangerous to himself and others. Andrews was taken into custody for public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and vandalism.

Jackson Crouch charged with DUI after early morning crash on interstate

18-year-old Jackson Crouch had a car accident on I-24 East near mile marker 61 on January 28th. When officers arrived, NFD personnel advised them that Crouch did not want medical attention. They spoke with Crouch, who said he was changing a song, causing him to swerve off the roadway into the tree line. Then, he told them that he took a “bong rip” before driving. They observed him to be visibly intoxicated as he refused to participate in sobriety tests. Crouch was informed of implied consent and later admitted to drinking alcohol under Miranda. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
