49-year-old Edward Perry blows four times over the legal limit after he told police that he had more than twelve-pack of beer. Police arrived on August 1st at a West Nashville Apartment complex on Sonya Drive, where Perry lives, and found him lying behind his Ford Ranger. The Ranger was parked with one tire on the sidewalk because a stranger took the keys from Edward and gave them to NFD. Police reported an open beer can in the center console and an open bottle of New Amsterdam Vodka within arms reach of the driver seat. Edward, who was so unsteady police had to help him stand, admitted to drinking heavily. Under Miranda, Edward admitted to drinking more than twelve 24oz beers. He blew a 0.320% BAC level, and police discovered that Edward’s license was suspended.

Teddy Frazier charged with DUI; claims he was born in 2021

23-year-old Teddy Frazier, jailed for DUI, was not born yesterday but told police that he was born in 2021. Close to 3 am on August 2nd, MNPD officers noticed a Ford Fusion with the hazard lights displayed pulled over on Murfreesboro Pike. Police saw the driver immediately try to hide open containers when they turned their blue lights on. As the officers approached the car, they saw an empty wine bottle in the back passenger seat and Teddy in the front seat. After asking Teddy to exit the vehicle, he was unsteady on his feet, smelled of alcohol, and had slurred speech, per the report.

Once Teddy realized his wallet was missing, police asked him for his social security number, and he gave the wrong number of digits several times. The birthday Teddy gave them was August 19, 2021, yet police were able to find him in the state’s records. Teddy said, “You know I’m intoxicated,” several times, and that he does not drink often but finished a whole bottle of wine that night. He said that he started driving at 1:45 a.m. and that the last thing that he had to drink was “whatever was in those cans,” identified as a mixed drink cocktail and a beer. Standard field sobriety tests were conducted, and he showed several indications of intoxication, then later blew a 0.12% BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: James Mannix “I’m not getting caught in the driver’s seat of this car!”

36-year-old James Mannix Jr was found asleep in his SUV in AllSouth Appliance Group’s parking lot. He woke up, then showed signs of impairment, refused a sobriety test, demanded medical attention, and told medical staff that he was suffering withdrawals from alcohol and “benzos.” On July 26th, MNPD responded to AllSouth Appliance Group’s parking lot and spoke to a complainant who said that a gray Ford Escape almost struck a mailbox while entering the parking lot. Then, the complainant said, the vehicle stopped in the middle of the parking lot. Police approached the vehicle and found James Mannix asleep with the keys in the ignition and the engine still running but in park. The fire department arrived on the scene and woke James up; he slurred his words while saying, “I am not getting caught in the driver seat of this car.”

During the investigation, police described him to be uncooperative and unsteady on his feet when asked to exit the vehicle. James refused to do a sobriety test and asked for a lawyer, so he was placed into custody. A search of his vehicle yielded a half-empty bottle of Irish whiskey, an empty pint of vodka, other open containers, narcotics, and other prescription medication. While James was in the back of the police vehicle, an officer noted that it newly smelled of alcohol. James demanded medical attention after he was placed into custody; once they arrived at the hospital, James told the staff that he was suffering withdrawals from alcohol and “benzos” (which is a colloquialism for “Benzodiazepines.”)

DUI: Griffin Rogers blows 0.141% BAC after ‘two beers’ at dinner

21-year-old Griffin Rogers, on July 23rd, was jailed after police arrived at a single-car accident on the exit ramp of Old Hickory Blvd. from I-65 and found NFD who stated that Griffin, who was notably visibly under the influence of an intoxicating influence, was the vehicle’s driver. Police searched the vehicle and found what Griffin admitted was marijuana, a pipe, a grinder, and a half-empty bottle of vodka. A field sobriety test was conducted after Griffin said that he was not drunk, yet he showed multiple signs of impairment. Griffin later said he had two beers at dinner that night and blew a 0.141% BAC.

DUI: Judith Hawley took a swig of liquor from her purse before speaking to police

73-year-old Judith Hawley was involved in a car crash on Burkitt Road on July 17, where she was the only occupant. Police arrived to find her sitting in the grass, being treated by medics. She was visibly intoxicated, and prior to speaking to police, she retrieved a bottle of liquor from her purse and took a drink from it. She then answered their questions and stated she had consumed three shots earlier in the evening, prior to driving. Due to her level of intoxication, field sobriety tests were not completed.

Nashville street racers brutally assault woman who confronted them about blocking road —Daniel Martinez-Long arrested

19-year-old Daniel Martinez-Long was booked this week on an outstanding warrant from April 10th when he was caught doing donuts and blocking traffic on Queen Anne Drive. Karina Agner told police that as she passed by Daniel, she lightly honked her horn and asked him to stop doing donuts and blocking the street. Daniel and a group of several other individuals approached Karina in an aggressive manner. Karina was standing outside of her vehicle at this time, and Daniel walked over to her and punched her in the face. She fell to the ground, and he started kicking her while she was on the ground. Karina told police that Daniel followed her and teased her about getting her “ass beat” and telling her he was going to kill her. She advised that she didn’t know Daniel but believed he lived down the street because his car was always parked there. The precinct created a photo lineup of possible suspects, and Karina was able to identify Daniel as one of the suspects.

DUI: Blake Bearden drives into pool area and off a rock wall after drinking

31-year-old Blake Bearden drove into the pool area and off a rock wall inside a multi-million dollar estate on Sewanee Road late Wednesday night. Officers arrived to find Bearden asleep in the front seat of his truck with a half-empty beer can in the cup holder and five other empty beer cans in the floorboard. He stated he had come “from Nashville” when he crashed into the South Nashville estate owned by Douglas Kitchen. He admitted to having “too much” to drink and was also the subject of several earlier calls about his erratic driving on Hillsboro Pike. He refused all sobriety testing and was taken into custody.

Juan Jose Mendoza Soriano led police on chase “for the adrenalin rush,” per report

19-year-old Juan Jose Mendoza Soriano was jailed on June 24th after police saw him driving a white Buick SUV aggressively on Bell Road. He was observed crossing the double yellow lines and speeding to pass cars. Police then saw him run a red light and continue to travel to the wrong side of the road to pass other vehicles. Police activated their lights and sirens and attempted to pull him over, but he continued to speed off, trying to reach the vehicle’s maximum speed. Another officer deployed spikes, but Mendoza avoided the spikes and turned his lights off to black out his SUV. He then entered an apartment complex and bailed on foot. He was found in the wood lines and was taken into custody. He later told police that he ran from them due to adrenalin. Police found multiple open containers in his vehicle, and he blew a .043% BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: Samantha Miley blows a 0.216% BAC after night of drinking in Nashville

30-year-old Sam Miley was jailed on May 9th when police responded to a call regarding someone intoxicated in a vehicle. Police observed Miley behind the wheel of the vehicle that was parked but running. She smelled of alcohol and had red eyes. She admitted to drinking and agreed to perform field sobriety tests. Police asked her if there were any medical issues that would prevent her from successfully completing the tasks, to which she replied there was not. Miley also performed the sobriety tests in her high heels and showed signs of impairment on every single test. Police found a half-empty bottle of Jose Cuervo Tequila and the passenger’s side floorboard. She agreed to a breath test and blew a .216% BAC on the breathalyzer.

DUI: Lindsey Hill riding on rims, can’t answer questions, has to pee right now!

28-year-old “paralegal and dog mom” Lindsey Hill was booked Thursday night after police say she was extremely drunk behind the wheel on Donelson Pike. Witnesses told police that they saw Hill hit a curb while driving on the rims of her car and thought she may have been in an accident. Officers found Hill behind the wheel in a Mcdonald’s parking lot. Her car was missing the left passenger side tire. Hill almost fell getting out of the vehicle, she could barely stand, and police could smell alcohol on her breath as she told them that she had “3 mixed drinks.” Police had a difficult time understanding her as her speech was extremely slurred. She agreed to sobriety tests and performed poorly. She wouldn’t answer any questions and would only say she “had to pee.”
