Pennsylvania State Trooper Joseph Yingling starts a fight in Downtown Nashville

42-year-old Joseph Francis Yingling, a Pennsylvania State Trooper, was involved in a scuffle with Liam Leyden at Bakersfield restaurant on 3rd Avenue South in the late hours of November 11th. Leyden spoke with officers and advised them that he and Yingling were arguing when he attacked him, putting him in a chokehold and throwing him to the ground. They began to fight, but their friends broke it up. Officers reviewed security footage, and it shows Yingling getting up and walking to Leyden before putting his hands on his neck, lifting him out of his seat, and throwing him to the floor. Yingling was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

Small town Mayor Michael Cherepko jailed in Nashville after causing drunken disturbance 

46-year-old Michael Cherepko, who is the Mayor of the small town of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, found himself in a Nashville jail cell just hours after his own city’s Christmas parade this weekend. Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, Metro Nashville Police Officers were flagged down near Whiskey Row for a man causing a public disturbance. Cherepko was reportedly “extremely intoxicated” and was ranting about losing his credit card. Security confirmed that the Mayor closed his tab at 1:15 a.m., when his card was returned to him. Mayor Cherepko admitted he was “messed up” when talking with police. He was advised to come back tomorrow and see if he could locate his credit card, and he seemingly left the area. Twenty minutes later, Cherepko returned, too intoxicated to reason with, and caused another disturbance with security. He was detained for Metro Police, who took him into custody after he was unable to locate anyone to retrieve him to a safe place.

Tourist Colton McMillan tells female officer she “doesn’t deserve equal pay” as he’s being arrested

27-year-old tourist Colton McMillan was involved in a brawl near the Sun Diner in downtown Nashville early Friday morning after another man pushed him on the sidewalk. McMillan attempted to flee when officers separated the parties and ran when told to stop. A security guard tripped McMillan as he ran past, but he was still able to compose himself and outrun the officers behind him. As he neared the pedestrian bridge, McMillan fell a second time, and officers were able to catch up with him. He struggled and resisted as he was being cuffed and became extremely aggressive with officers. He told Officer Liquori she “couldn’t fight” and “did not deserve equal pay.” He was transported to Metro General to be cleared due to some scrapes from the altercation and then to booking.

Tourist Jacob Smith interferes with friend’s arrest after brawl in downtown Nashville

26-year-old Jacob Smith was one of several people engaged in a fight in downtown Nashville early Friday morning. As officers attempted to break up the fight, Smith and others fled, despite being asked to stop. When officers caught up with another involved individual, Smith approached officers in an openly hostile manner and attempted to interfere with the arrest. He hovered over officers and screamed while attempting to physically stop them from arresting his friend. Smith was extremely intoxicated and was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Bachelorette Alyssa David says she was profiled for being a white female in downtown bar

25-year-old tourist Alyssa David came from Pennsylvania to Nashville this weekend for a bachelorette party. Due to their excessive drunken antics, members of the bachelorette party were kicked out of both Tootsie’s and Luke’s 32 Bar. Upset about being bounced, Alyssa approached the nearest Metro Nashville Police patrol car on Broadway to report they were asked to leave because they were “being profiled as white females in the bar.” Officers noted she was extremely intoxicated and moments later approached a downtown ambassador on his segway and began to record him while ‘bopping’ his face with the phone. After an exchange of words which included telling her to pay attention to where she was walking, Alyssa pushed the Ambassador and grabbed his segway, and began to shake it. She was then taken into custody and transported to booking.

Tourist Timothy Confair jailed for assault of wife in Nashville hotel room

49-year-old tourist Timothy Confair was jailed after holding his wife down against her will after a night of drinking downtown. Police spoke with Tammie Confair, who had visible cuts on her hands. When she got back to the hotel room, she started packing her things. When Timothy returned to the room, he pushed her onto the bed and held her down by squeezing her hands. She was eventually able to push him off with her legs. Timothy told police that he only held his wife down so she wouldn’t try to leave the hotel and drive while she was drunk. They spent the night together, and Tammie called the police in the morning.

Mark Knechel calls 911 from back of patrol car “I’m being kidnapped by crooked cops!”

40-year-old tourist Mark Knechel was found in an extreme state of intoxication near KVB & 1st Ave South in downtown Nashville early Wednesday morning, acting erratically in the middle of the road. He reeked of alcohol, and when officers made contact, he knelt on the ground and began to yell, “These are dirty cops!” Knechel’s fiancée said they were staying at a nearby Holiday Inn. As officers were preparing to give them both a ride to their hotel, Knechel became even more agitated, upset an officer was speaking to his fiancée. Due to his continued disruptive behavior, he was placed into custody. When in the back of the patrol car and en route to booking, Knechel called 911 from his Apple watch and told the dispatcher he was “being kidnapped by crooked cops.”

Tourist Anthony Bauer threatens to “R-Kelly” someone in jail until they have a ‘happy ending’

19-year-old tourist Anthony Harold Bauer was asked to leave the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel late Sunday night as they determined he was not a guest at the hotel but was relaxing on a couch in the lobby, but he refused to move from the couch. He was visibly intoxicated, and despite multiple requests from officers, he refused to leave the hotel. As he was being placed under arrest for trespassing and public intoxication, he tensed up and resisted arrest. Once at the patrol car, Bauer attempted to head-butt officer Reynolds and was escorted to the side of the vehicle, and he spat on officers twice during a struggle to get him seated inside. Once at booking, Bauer exclaimed, “I’m going to p** in someone’s mouth, and they’re going to org*sm.”
