Tourist Jacob Smith interferes with friend’s arrest after brawl in downtown Nashville

26-year-old Jacob Smith was one of several people engaged in a fight in downtown Nashville early Friday morning. As officers attempted to break up the fight, Smith and others fled, despite being asked to stop. When officers caught up with another involved individual, Smith approached officers in an openly hostile manner and attempted to interfere with the arrest. He hovered over officers and screamed while attempting to physically stop them from arresting his friend. Smith was extremely intoxicated and was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Jacob Gabriel Smith of Blairsville, PA, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on August 4th, charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,250.
