Mary Leguia drank herself unconscious in downtown Nashville, battled with police

21-year-old Mary Leguia was found unconscious on Broadway this weekend after falling on the crosswalk. Leguia’s friends dragged her to the sidewalk, and when officers arrived, they told them that she had been drinking in excess. Officers called medics to evaluate Leguia as she regained consciousness. Leguia was resistive as medics attempted to transport her to the hospital and tried to run away multiple times when officers tried to place her in custody. Officers had to put hobble restraints on Leguia after she kicked at them numerous times and attempted to kick out a rear window of the patrol car. Leguia was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Tourist Jake Pinn spits on and headbutts officers in downtown Nashville

23-year-old Jacob Pinn passed out on Broadway before waking up, spitting on and headbutting officers on Saturday night. Officers were dispatched to Mellow Mushroom in response to a medical call regarding an unresponsive male on the sidewalk. EMS arrived and began to transport Pinn on the stretcher; then Pinn woke up being aggressive, swinging at the paramedics. Officers tried to ask Pinn to lie back down, and then Pinn responded by spitting in Officer Bergquist’s face and headbutting Officer Ntahonirukiye’s lip even after being told to stop multiple times. Pinn was taken into custody for public intoxication, two counts of assault on officers, and resisting arrest.

Martin Harasim claims to be government agent after assaulting his sister

41-year-old Martin Haraism was jailed Monday night after assaulting his sister at their apartment on Broadway. The victim stated that her brother was extremely intoxicated, and she took a bath to give him time to calm down and ended up having to barricade herself inside the bathroom. Harasim broke through the door and slammed her head against a wall. He then strangled her to the point of lightheadedness and threw her around the apartment. The victim stated, “He beat the hell out of me.” She had visible bruises and injuries in multiple places on her arms, legs, neck, and abdomen. She also had bruising around her neck from the strangulation.  

When officers spoke with Harasim, he denied ever assaulting the victim and claimed she had a mental illness. He was obviously intoxicated and claimed to be an IRS Criminal Investigator and an FBI agent but never showed a badge or provided any credentials. Officers called the FBI field office located in Knoxville, and they had no knowledge of him. Officers then attempted to take Harasim into custody, but he resisted by pulling away. He even stepped on an officer’s foot and would not move. He also attempted to throw his shoulder into an officer but was quickly pinned against a wall to prevent that. While in custody, he threatened to retaliate against the officers due to his employment by the federal government. He stated the federal government would “f*/k them up.” He also stated that he would “chop up” the arresting officer and called them “dumb f*/king fa*/ots.”

Malea Rhea flees from police & weaves through traffic on Old Hickory Blvd

21-year-old Malea Rhea was arrested for evading, reckless driving, and resisting arrest on October 16th. Officer Short observed Rhea speeding past him in a brown SUV weaving in and out of traffic on Old Hickory Blvd. and activated his emergency equipment. Rhea continued to weave in and out of traffic to flee and was out of sight of the officers until she was seen exiting the vehicle about a mile down the roadway, after she ran off the roadway. Rhea was taken into custody during a traffic stop.

Riley Bert bites the thigh of MNPD Officer during arrest; kicks another

22-year-old Riley Elizabeth Bert is jailed on a $6,500 bond after biting MNPD Officer George Poulos on his leg, as her teeth ripped his pants, kicking him in his thigh, and kicking Officer Dennis Diesel twice. Officers encountered Bert as she was standing outside a black truck that was parked in the center of Broadway in downtown Nashville. The driver, her boyfriend, stated she was extremely intoxicated and continued to jump out of the vehicle at least three times prior to police arrival. She refused to stay inside the vehicle and was eventually taken into custody. During the arrest, she was combative and assaulted both officers. 

Matthew Studer threatens to kill mom when he’s denied college tuition

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at Trail Cir. On the night of October 6th. Prior to officers arriving, 32-year-old Matthew Studer became upset with his mother, Kelly Studer, when she denied paying his college tuition and sent her two texts stating, “Kelly, just to warn you, sleep with one eye open” and “The next time you’ll see Matt’s significant life moment, it’ll be in the courtroom.”

Matthew also made two Facebook posts stating, “Well, she better sleep with one eye open; either that or my 33rd birthday will be spent underground; I dare anyone to call the cops.” In the second post, he posted his mother’s address, her vehicle, and her place of employment before ending the post, saying, “Take her out by any means.”

Kelly Studer told officers she was afraid of what Matthew might do when he returned after she saw the post. Matthew returned to the scene from college and immediately began to walk away and drop all his belongings when the officers asked to speak with him. Matthew Studer was determined to be the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for harassment and resisting.

Duncan Kimsey jailed after drunken disorderly behavior

When officers responded to a call of a trespasser at a local venue, the staff stated that 28-year-old Duncan Kimsey was asked to leave multiple times and refused. The location has an active trespass waiver, and Kimsey was still on the property when officers arrived. The defendant reportedly reeked of alcohol, had slurred speech, and became argumentative with officers. Officers state because he was clearly intoxicated and pulled his arms away during cuffing, he was placed under arrest and charged with resisting arrest, public intoxication, and criminal trespass.

Brian Dowling just wanted to inhale some Nitrous Oxide, MNPD had different plans

55-year-old Brian Dowling was observed in the area of the Walk of Fame Park just outside the Phish concert in downtown Nashville this weekend. Officers described a sea of fifty to one hundred people who were all partaking in inhaling nitrous oxide via inflated balloons. Officers noted some were talkative; some were talking about how high they were; some were quiet, while others vomited.

When approached by officers, Dowling was told to drop the balloon he was carrying; he then released the balloon, picked it up, and inhaled it before running down the sidewalk and getting caught by the police. Dowling was taken into custody for inhaling or possessing intoxicating fumes and resisting arrest.

Matthew Landan faces felony after filling Nitrous Oxide balloons at Phish concert

On October 7th, 51-year-old Matthew Landan was observed in the area of the Walk of Fame Park just outside the Phish concert in downtown Nashville. Officers described a sea of fifty to one hundred people who were all partaking in inhaling nitrous oxide via inflated balloons. Officers noted some were talkative; some were talking about how high they were; some were quiet, while others vomited.  While patrolling, officers witnessed two of them actively filling balloons as one fled on foot; the other, Landan, was detained after resisting and then taken into custody.

Raasheem ‘Raa Da Jeweler’ Queen jailed after selling Nitrous Balloons at Phish Show in Nashville

22-year-old Rasheem Queen (Raa Da Jeweler) was jailed early Saturday morning after officers observed him filling balloons with laughing gas in the area of the Walk of Fame Park just outside the Phish concert. Police watched as Mr. Queen filled balloons from metal containers labeled Nitrous Oxide and exchanged them for money. Once the balloons were handed over to the consumer, they immediately inhaled the contents inside. As officers attempted to place Mr. Queen into handcuffs, he began to run toward 6th Avenue. He was eventually detained and searched. Officers recovered $520 cash, a large quantity of unfilled balloons, and two metal cylinders full of Nitrous Oxide.
