DUI: Musician Alec Dockery drinks two Moscow Mules before flipping car in crash

31-year-old Alec Dockery, singer in 12 South Band, flipped his car after colliding with a parked car on Nevada Avenue in the early hours of February 9th. When officers arrived, Dockery was standing outside his vehicle, and then he advised them that he was unaware of how the crash occurred. Dockery was evaluated by medics and refused medical services. He stated that he was coming from a friend’s house in east Nashville and had two Moscow Mules about two hours before the accident. Officers observed Dockery to be visibly intoxicated during their interview. Dockery then consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and provided a breath sample that resulted in 0.169 BAC%. Dockery was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Ben Folds Five frontman and pianist, Benjamin Scott Folds filed this week to divorce his wife, Australian ballet dancer Emma Sandall, after six years of marriage, stating irreconcilable differences in the pleadings. Under a proposed marital dissolution agreement, Folds will be required to pay her a lump sum of $475,000 for any interest she has in their Nashville home. Additionally, he will pay $650,000 over a period of 24 months ($27,083.33/monthly), pay the cost of her car insurance for the next year, pay her $50,000 of additional funds to assist in the purchase of furniture for her new home, and pay her $210,000 AUD from a National Australian Bank account once the divorce is finalized. Folds has four prior marriages since 1987.

DUI: Nate Felty blows double legal limit after drinking at Up-Down Nashville

34-year-old Nathan ‘Nate’ Felty told police he had “two IPA Beers” at Up-Down Nashville Wednesday night before he was pulled over in a traffic stop for traveling 51 mph in a 35 mph zone on East Nashville. He wasn’t aware a Metro Nashville Police officer was behind him when he sped up and brushed against a lane marker and abruptly overcorrected as the road shifted at Eastland Avenue. He reportedly reeked of alcohol and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He eventually blew a 0.163% BAC on a breathalyzer, more than double the legal limit in Tennessee.

Musician Ryan Storrs attempts to bring handgun inside Tin Roof bar while intoxicated

36-year-old Nashville singer-songwriter Ryan Storrs was in line to enter Tin Roof on Demonbreun at 2:16 am. Saturday morning when security staff noticed he was carrying a firearm and also already appeared intoxicated. Metro Nashville Police arrived and conducted a weapons search of Storrs, who was carrying a 9mm handgun while intoxicated. He was transported to booking and charged with possessing a handgun while under the influence. 

Musician Trey Calloway charged with DUI in Nashville; asks police to stop embarrassing him

Metro Nashville Police & fire responded to I-40 East near White Bridge Pike in the early hours of Monday morning and pulled 30-year-old Nashville Musician Franklin “Trey” Calloway out of his Ford F-150, which he crashed. Multiple Nashville Firefighters say Calloway told them he had been drinking, and police say he reeked of alcohol upon contact. As he tried to stand on his own, officers had to catch him several times as he attempted to topple over. He motioned he “wasn’t sure” when asked how much alcohol he had consumed, and after the first two field sobriety tests, Calloway stated, “I know I’ve failed the tests already; why are you embarrassing me?” and refused all other tests.

Griffin Dunn charged with DUI after leaving Rusty Nail Bar in Hermitage

Metro Nashville Police say 23-year-old Griffin Dunn was traveling 63 mph in a 45 mph zone just before midnight Monday night and swerved between lanes multiple times. During a subsequent traffic stop, Dunn stated he was driving from the Rusty Nail Bar in Hermitage and was speeding because he was trying to get to a friend’s house. He admitted to drinking four drinks in the 45 minutes prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.118% BAC on a breathalyzer.

Musician Brandon Steadman charged with DUI after cutting through East Nashville parking lot to avoid traffic lights

Police say they conducted a traffic stop on 37-year-old Musician Brandon Steadman after he used the parking lot of an East Nashville Aldi to cut through and bypass two traffic lights. He was reportedly visibly intoxicated and admitted to drinking prior to driving. He began, then stopped, field sobriety tests, and was taken into custody for DUI, violation of the implied consent law, and driving without a license, as his Texas license expired in 2015.

DUI: Musician Judson McKinney arrested after driving wrong way on 2nd Ave downtown

Police say 37-year-old Judson McKinney was driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street in downtown Nashville this weekend when he came up onto the sidewalk and collided with barricades. He kept telling police “I’m just a musician coming back from a gig” as he attempted to stand on 2nd Avenue. While he was insistent he had only consumed “one drink”, his pupils were largely dilated and non-reactive to light. He failed every attempt at a field sobriety test and refused to speak with officers further. He declined requests for his blood, however, officers obtained a warrant and transported him to Nashville General Hospital prior to being jailed.

Musician ‘Benny James’ charged with DUI after gig — Ben Svardahl

Police say 29-year-old Benjamin Svardahl, who goes by the stage name of ‘Benny James’, failed to move over for lane closures due to a traffic accident on I-40 in the early hours of Sunday morning, and nearly hit two vehicles and one officer, who had to jump over the barrier to avoid Svardahl’s oncoming car. Officers were able to pull him over 2 miles down the road, at mile marker 205, and observed him to be extremely intoxicated, with thick and mumbled speech and the inability to find his wallet, which was in his lap. He claimed to have had “2 draft beers” during his 3.5-hour music gig that had just ended. He blew a 0.211% BAC on a breathalyzer test.
