21-year-old Jacob Baker is charged with possession of a weapon while under the influence. Police were responding to a separate incident at Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge Bar at 301 Broadway Sunday night when they observed Baker laying down inside the doorway to the bar with a handgun clearly visible sticking out from his waistband. Officers asked if he was OK, and Baker replied “No, I’m drunk!”. Police took him into custody and he was transported to booking. He is now free on pre-trial release.

| OFFICERS WERE DEALING WITH A DIFFERENT INCIDENT AT LUKE BRYANS BAR (301 BROADWAY). SERGEANT DAVID ABBOTT OBSERVED THE DEFENDANT LAYING DOWN ON THE DOORSTEP OF THE ENTRANCE OF THE BAR. SERGEANT ABBOTT STATED THAT HE SAW A HANDGUN (HKUSP COMPACT .45 AUTO, 29-000224) STICKING OUT OF THE DEFENDANT WAISTBAND.
SERGEANT ABBOTT ASKED THE DEFENDANT IF HE WAS ALRIGHT AND THE DEFENDANT TOLD HIM NO, HE IS “DRUNK”. AFTER ABBOTT MIRANDIZED THE DEFENDANT HE ADMITTED TO BEING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. DUE TO THE DEFENDANT ADMITTING TO BEING DRUNK OFFICERS HAD PROBABLE CAUSE TO ARREST THE DEFENDANT FOR POSSESSION OF A HANDGUN WHILE INTOXICATED |
