DUI: Zeckary Smith found stuck on train tracks after crashing white BMW

28-year-old Zeckary Smith crashed his white BMW onto train tracks in Davidson County, getting it stuck in the early hours of February 4th. Officers arrived and noticed him to be visibly intoxicated when they spoke with him. Smith refused to take sobriety tests or answer their questions. Further investigation showed officers that Smith had a revoked license and a prior DUI from Rutherford County in April 2022. Smith was taken into custody for his second driving under the influence offense and driving with a revoked license.

Heidi Sutton assaults sleeping mother who came to care for her after previous arrest

39-year-old Heidi Sutton had a domestic altercation with her mother, Louise Ann Sutton, at her apartment on 12th Avenue South on February 4th. Louise reported that Heidi allowed her and her husband to stay there, but Heidi became aggressive toward them throughout the night. While they were sleeping, Heidi came into the room and punched her mother in the arm. Louise’s husband got out of bed to protect them, and Heidi left the location. Louise advised that she wished to prosecute for the assault, and Heidi Sutton was taken into custody for the charge. Heidi was also jailed a week before this incident for a separate incident involving her attempting to assault a police officer with a cell phone during a panic attack.

DUI: Musician Nicholas Banos crashes Honda Civic into large rock at Metro Parks Greenway

29-year-old Nicholas William Banos of local band “Manic.”, crashed his black Honda Civic into a large rock at the entrance of the Metro Parks Greenway and struck a tree on the walking path on February 4th. Banos was sitting in the driver’s seat when officers arrived, and then he advised them he had dropped his friend off and was headed to the “west side.” Officers asked for his driver’s credentials, but he continued to get sidetracked. Banos handed them his bank card while trying to locate his license, and then he admitted to having six drinks of liquor and beer. Admitting he had his last drink about an hour before the incident. Officers noticed he was visibly intoxicated before he consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. He agreed to provide a breath sample, which resulted in 0.135 BAC%. Banos was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Jordan Geddes found passed out drunk in Whole Foods parking garage, tells officers “I’ll go with you.”

34-year-old Jordon Bryson Geddes refused to leave the lower-level parking garage of Whole Foods on Broadway in the early hours of February 4th. Geddes was found lying on the ground, passed out when officers arrived. The officers woke him up to ask him if he was okay, to which he replied he was fine. Then, when officers asked him if he needed a medic, he said yes and walked to their police vehicle. They then asked if he wanted to go with them or the medics, and he said, “I’ll go with you.” They advised him it would be under custody if he went with them, and he replied, “That’s fine.” Officers observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from him and deemed him unable to care for himself. Geddes was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Nathan West deemed too drunk for Nashville International Airport

37-year-old Nathan Everett West reportedly kept losing consciousness at Titan’s Press Box, a bar in BNA Terminal 1, on February 3rd. Bystanders pointed out West when officers arrived, advising he was the one they were there for. West was visibly intoxicated when officers spoke to him, admitting he had five alcoholic beverages but was unaware of which terminal gate he was in. West fell onto a bench as officers tried to figure out where he needed to go. Under Miranda, West told them he had two shots of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire and three Bud Lights within an hour. He was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Jamison Whatley resists arrest, refuses to leave Jason Aldean’s Bar

24-year-old Jamison Whatley was being disorderly at Jason Aldean’s in downtown Nashville on February 3rd. Security for the establishment flagged officers down, advising them that Whatley refused to leave after being asked repeatedly to do so. Officers arrived and told him he needed to leave the bar or would be arrested for trespassing, but he did not listen. Officers tried to detain him, but he became resistive, swinging his arms forward and locking them out. After minimal force, they were able to arrest him, and he was taken into custody for criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

Channing Doughtry attempts to assault fiancé during drunk argument

32-year-old Channing Doughtry had a domestic incident with his fiancé, Allison Brooke Hardin, at their apartment on Cabot Drive in the early hours of January 28th. Doughtry called 911, stating Hardin kicked him several times and that he was leaving the scene. When officers arrived, he was not there, and his phone went straight to voicemail when dispatch attempted to call back, so they spoke with Hardin, who was crying, shaken up as she answered the door. She told officers that a day prior, Doughtry said he wished he could “choke” her while walking toward her with his hands in a strangle-like gesture. Then, she said that tonight they had been drinking. During an argument, Doughtry began to yell and curse at her, causing her to fear for her safety. Hardin said that Doughtry approached her while she was on her bed, so she put her back on the headboard, telling him to leave. When he got closer, she kicked him in the chest area three times, causing a scrape on her right shin. Then, she said Doughtry left the apartment, saying he would call the police and get her arrested. Officers deemed Doughtry as the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault on February 4th.

35-year-old Clayton McCool stopped in the middle of an active roadway on Division Street in the early hours of February 4th. Officers observed this when they arrived and asked him to exit the vehicle. McCool’s keys were found on the sidewalk as he told them he had been driving but was unaware of how they ended up on the sidewalk. They observed McCool to be visibly intoxicated as he consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. Officers Mirandized McCool as he refused to provide a blood sample and informed him of implied consent. McCool was taken into custody for driving under the influence and an implied consent violation.

DUI: Brice Kiggins causes accident after drinking in downtown Nashville

25-year-old Brice Edward Kiggins caused a car accident on Murfreesboro Pike late February 4th. Kiggins talked to officers when they arrived, advising them it was his fault for the crash. Kiggins advised that he did not see the other driver when he made a left off Murfreesboro Pike, causing the collision. Officers observed him to be visibly intoxicated as he explained that he was coming from downtown Nashville, where he had two beers. Kiggins agreed to sobriety tests and performed poorly. Kiggins then provided two breath samples, resulting in 0.165 BAC% and 0.151 BAC%. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Samuel Lusty slashes tires of girlfriend & roommate after breakup

23-year-old Samuel Lusty was jailed Saturday after slashing the tires of his girlfriend, Kristin Lusty, and her roommate, Abigail Clark, as he was upset about the end of a relationship. Police say Lusty and Kristin Cowart broke up Friday evening after arguing all day. Lusty reportedly became angry and began to threaten to beat up Cowart, and also get her jumped by his friends. Lusty then slashed the rear tires of Cowart’s Ford Escape, and the left rear tire of her roommate’s Nissan Altima. Lusty had fled the scene before officers arrived but was apprehended a short time later.
