Police say they were attempting to keep 20-year-old Matthew Martin from being hit by an automobile at 3rd & Broadway late Saturday night, but he continued to stagger into traffic and was aggressive when they attempted to assist him.
Officers were working traffic control at 3rd Avenue & Broadway in downtown Nashville when Martin came staggering into traffic and ignoring the commands of the officers who were trying to keep him safe while crossing the street. He was described as aggressive, unsteady on his feet, and extremely intoxicated.
Matthew Martin, 20, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, charged with Public Intoxication.
