Wife drags husband out of home to evict him, steps over his injured body to go back inside — Kristian Dukes

Metro Police say 49-year-old Kristian Dukes grabbed her sleeping husband, Brandon Burgett, under his arms and dragged him off the couch and out the door, dropping him onto the ground as she stepped over his injured body on her way back inside. Police documented multiple bruises and lacerations to the victim’s body, and blood on his left foot, which she had attempted to shut in the door. Dukes initially denied ever touching the victim, but later admitted to the struggle, adding she was intoxicated. The victim states Dukes has been attempting to evict him from the property for a period of time.

ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT:
ON 12/23/2021, OFFICERS WERE DISPATCHED TO 2258 LEBANON PIKE. WHEN OFFICERS ARRIVED ON THE SCENE, THEY SPOKE TO THE VICTIM NAMED BRANDON BURGETT. THE VICTIM STATED THAT HE WAS SLEEPING ON THE COUCH EARLIER IN THE EVENING. THE VICTIM STATED THAT THE DEFENDANT WHO IS HIS WIFE, HAS BEEN TRYING TO EVICT HIM FROM THE PROPERTY.

THE VICTIM STATED THAT HE WAS SLEEPING ON THE COUCH WHEN THE DEFENDANT APPROACHED HIM. THE VICTIM STATED THAT THE DEFENDANT PROCEEDED TO GRAB HIM UNDERNEATH HIS ARMS AND PROCEEDED TO DRAG HIM TO THE BALCONY DOOR. THE VICTIM STATED THAT HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO HOLD ONTO THE DOOR FRAME TO PREVENT HIMSELF FROM BEING PULLED OUTSIDE. ONCE THE DEFENDANT GOT THE VICTIM OUTSIDE, HE FELL TO THE GROUND.

THE VICTIM STATED THAT THE DEFENDANT THEN STEPPED OVER HIM TO GO BACK INSIDE OF THE HOUSE, AND CLOSED THE DOOR ON HIS FOOT. OFFICERS OBSERVED NUMEROUS BRUISES AND LACERATIONS TO THE VICTIMS ARM. OFFICERS ALSO OBSERVED BLOOD ON THE VICTIMS LEFT FOOT. WHEN OFFICERS SPOKE TO THE DEFENDANT, SHE AT FIRST DENIED EVER TOUCHING THE VICTIM.

THE DEFENDANT THEN LATER ADMITTED TO OFFICERS THAT SHE DID ATTEMPT TO PUSH THE VICTIM OUT OF THE APARTMENT. WHEN OFFICERS ASKED THE DEFENDANT IF SHE CLOSED THE DOOR ON THE VICTIMS FOOT, SHE STATED THAT SHE DID NOT REMEMBER. THE DEFENDANT ALSO ADMITTED TO BEING INTOXICATED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

OFFICERS ASKED THE VICTIM IF HE WAS INTOXICATED AS WELL, THE VICTIM SAID NO. OFFICERS DID NOT NOTICE ANY OBVIOUS SIGNS OF INTOXICATION ON THE VICTIMS BEHALF. DUE TO OFFICERS OBSERVING MULTIPLE INJURIES ON THE VICTIM, OFFICERS TOOK THE DEFENDANT INTO CUSTODY.
