31-year-old Deborah ‘Lowana’ Knowles reportedly got into a domestic dispute with her husband, Daniel Baseman, on October 30th. Baseman spoke with officers as they arrived and told them that his wife “got drunk and beat the shit out of me.” Officers were advised that an argument escalated when Knowles threw an object at Baseman before walking up and punching him four to five times in the face. Then, Baseman went to their bedroom to get away, but Knowles followed and continued to punch him before he punched back in self-defense and walked to his car to get away. Officers located Knowles down the road from the scene and noticed she was visibly intoxicated and unable to answer their questions. Knowles began to be resistive when placed under arrest and was taken into custody for public intoxication, domestic assault, and resisting arrest.

Feras Shoukeir charged in assault of wife after she refuses to have sex with him
43-year-old TSU professor Feras Shoukeir was jailed Monday after assaulting his wife when she reportedly refused to have sex with him. Layale Ajamy told police that Shoukeir walked into her bedroom and asked to have sex with her, but she refused because she had filed for divorce weeks earlier. She stated he hit her in her left arm and shoulder area, pushed her to the floor, and pulled her by her hair. She then went outside to the backyard and called her sister until she finally left the house after several more minutes of arguing and drove to Hermitage Library for assistance. She waited in her car until officers arrived and obtained an Order Of Protection. A warrant was issued for Shoukeir’s arrest.
Rocco Cipriano pushes woman to the ground during attack & holds her down
29-year-old Nicolas “Rocco” Cipriano was involved in a domestic disturbance with Hayley Murphy at Morris Apartments on October 30th. Officers were dispatched and observed Murphy crying on the ground, being comforted by a friend, Mr. Michael Ward Leverrier, when they arrived. Leverrier told officers that he heard Murphy and Cipriano screaming at each other and observed him holding her down on the ground. Then, Leverrier stated he stopped Cipriano from hurting Murphy and told him to walk home due to his level of anger and intoxication. Cipriano let Murphy up after Leverrier told him to calm down. Cipriano was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.
Brittaney Abrons jailed after throwing objects at ex-boyfriend during argument
35-year-old Brittaney Abrons was jailed on Thursday after an argument with her ex-boyfriend turned violent at their home on Double Tree Lane. Joshua Pittman told police that an argument started when she demanded he move out. She began throwing household items at him when he told her he needed more time. Joshua was able to block most of the items thrown, but one hit him on the hand, resulting in a cut to his finger.
La’Tona Whitson punches boyfriend in face at Hunters Lane High School hallway
18-year-old Hunters Lane High School student La’ Tona Whitson and her boyfriend D.W. have been dating for about nine months, according to police. On Tuesday, it was caught on video that they were walking down the hallway during dismissal and having a discussion. Whitson showed her boyfriend something on her phone and immediately punched him in the face. The video showed the victim bending over while holding his face. He then dropped his phone, stood up, walked to the lockers, and punched them. He was confronted by some other students and a staff member who witnessed it. The administrator investigated the incident the following morning. When police questioned Ms. Whitson, she said she hit him because she was upset about something he did and tried to push his face but accidentally hit him too hard.
Jalana Gift serves fists to her family after serving food to the homeless
18-year-old Jalana Gift reportedly assaulted family members after serving meals at the Nashville Rescue Mission on October 21st. Officers were dispatched to a parking lot near 6th Ave. S regarding a domestic disturbance. Danielle Brown spoke with officers as they arrived and told them that her stepdaughter, Gift, punched her in the jaw, causing her glasses to fly off as they were leaving the Nashville Rescue Mission. After the blow, Julianna Hobbs, a friend of the family, attempted to restrain Gift and was struck in the neck during the struggle. Gift’s stepbrother, Jason Patterson, sustained a hit in the head before he was able to subdue Gift. Brown stated that Gift fled the scene after being told that the police were being called. Gift was taken into custody on October 24th for two counts of domestic assault and one count of assault.
Nicole White douses ex-husband with water during child-custody dispute
40-year-old Nicole “Nikke” White is charged with domestic assault after violating the child custody agreement that’s in place with her ex-husband, Elon White. The victim explained that he and his ex-wife have a parenting plan for split custody of the children. When it was his time to pick up the kids on September 14th, Nicole refused to let them go with him. He then stood outside her front window and told her he was calling the police when she opened the window and threw water at him from a plastic bottle. The victim remained on the scene until the police arrived. He stated he was injured from the water and showed officers a video of Nicole slinging water on him and his daughter.
Andre Payne charged in assault of girlfriend during argument about texts on her phone
22-year-old Andre Payne got angry with his girlfriend, La Chacia Blackman, over texts she received on the 20th of August. Officers were dispatched to Linbar Dr. for a call regarding a domestic disturbance. Blackman spoke with officers as they arrived and stated that she and Payne had an argument before he left the apartment. Payne came back shortly after searching for his phone, pushed his way into the apartment, and began to throw things around. Blackman said this was when she began to record Payne with her phone as he pushed her, causing her hand to hit the dresser, and then Payne left again. Officers observed an inch-and-a-half-long cut on Blackman’s palm. Payne was taken into custody this weekend for domestic assault.
Eric Kelnhofer jailed after throwing water bottle at wife during argument
40-year-old Eric Kelnhofer got into a verbal argument with his wife, Kristin Kelnhofer, over not “giving him space” on October 19th. Eric told officers that he ended up throwing a water bottle at his wife, which resulted in an injury above her left pinky. Officers observed the injury on Kristin’s hand, and since Eric admitted to throwing the water bottle, he was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Leidi Moreno charged with assaulting Arturo Juarez during argument over car
38-year-old Leidi Moreno was arrested on October 19th for domestic assault after she and Arturo Juarez got into a verbal argument regarding Moreno’s car being wrecked. Juarez told officers that Moreno began to shove him and tried to grab him by the face, leaving a scratch on his right cheek. Moreno was determined to be the primary aggressor and was taken into custody.
