43-year-old TSU professor Feras Shoukeir was jailed Monday after assaulting his wife when she reportedly refused to have sex with him. Layale Ajamy told police that Shoukeir walked into her bedroom and asked to have sex with her, but she refused because she had filed for divorce weeks earlier. She stated he hit her in her left arm and shoulder area, pushed her to the floor, and pulled her by her hair. She then went outside to the backyard and called her sister until she finally left the house after several more minutes of arguing and drove to Hermitage Library for assistance. She waited in her car until officers arrived and obtained an Order Of Protection. A warrant was issued for Shoukeir’s arrest.
Feras Shoukeir of Seiner Court in Hermitage, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on October 30th, charged with domestic assault. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,500.
