DUI: Haleigh Painter says she had “one beer” before passing out behind the wheel

Citizens alerted police that 31-year-old Haleigh Painter was passed out in the driver’s seat of her wrecked vehicle near 1st & Spring Street in the early hours of Saturday morning. Police arrived to find her now awake and sitting behind the wheel. She was unable to explain where she was, how she got there, or why her car was disabled due to the right front wheel being bent. She only knew that she had left work at City Tap House and went to Mother’s Ruin, where she had “one beer.” She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

DUI: Robert Kilbane drives into tree at White Castle on Broadway

28-year-old Robert Kilbane fell asleep and drove his white Chevy Silverado onto a curb at the White Castle on Broadway in downtown Nashville and into a tree just after 5 a.m. Thursday. It took multiple attempts for first responders to awaken Kilbane, but he eventually exited the vehicle while unsteady on his feet and reeking of alcohol. Kilbane told officers he had “a couple of beers” with friends earlier in the night. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, charged with DUI.

DUI: Joey Gosnell crashes after drinking “eight beers” prior to driving

60-year-old Joey Gosnell told police he consumed eight beers before crashing his vehicle on Cooper Lane in the early hours of Sunday morning. The vehicle came to rest in a deep ditch, and Nashville Fire had to cut out the front windshield to extract Gosnell from the vehicle. He stated he was leaving Waffle House after drinking earlier in the night and was on his way home when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road. He then acknowledged he had made a mistake and repeatedly stated he was guilty.

Kim William charged with DUI after crashing into a tree at campgrounds on Stewarts Ferry Pike

42-year-old Kim William is charged with driving under the influence after crashing his black Ford F-150 into a tree on Stewarts Ferry Pike early Sunday morning. First responders treated his minor cuts and bruises, and police say he was visibly intoxicated and had trouble walking with medics. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and explained he was dropping his friend off at the campgrounds, but was unable to speak on how much alcohol he had to drink.

Stefon Bristol charged with DUI after nearly crashing a U-Haul at 90 mph on the interstate

24-year-old Stefon Bristol was driving a U-Haul truck at 90 mph on I-40 E late Friday night when he almost flipped it on a curve, according to THP Troopers. A traffic stop was eventually conducted, where Bristol was visibly intoxicated. Inside the vehicle was a nearly empty bottle of whisky that Bristol denied was his. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and eventually admitted he was driving home from a bar.

Tracy Wright charged with DUI after East Nashville Crash Sunday afternoon

49-year-old Tracy Wright crashed her vehicle into another vehicle on Woodland Street near South 1st Street Sunday afternoon. Officers observed multiple open beer cans on the floor of the vehicle, in addition to several unopened cans. She was visibly intoxicated and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. She refused all other testing and was transported to booking and charged with DUI.

Sara Hudson charged with DUI after Edmonson Pike crash

Officers responded to a multi-vehicle accidence scene Saturday involving at least three parties. One of the drivers, 36-year-old Sarah Hudson, told police she did not know what happened and was visibly intoxicated when officers arrived. Witnesses say one of the vehicles initially hit a ‘boulder’ on the roadway and got stuck when another vehicle pulled behind them to assist. Hudson then reportedly came upon the two vehicles, striking the rear vehicle, causing it to spin and make contact with occupants who were standing outside the vehicle. She was taken into custody and charged with DUI.

Silas Lunsford charged with DUI, thanks to a Trooper’s taste for a Cherry ICEE

51-year-old Silas Lunsford pulled into the Shell gas station on Hillsboro Pike on June 6 and went into the store. Just outside was THP Trooper Reggie Edge, who was finishing pumping his gas. The Trooper went inside and was paying for his Cherry ICEE when he noticed Lunsford was visibly intoxicated and had trouble standing. Lunsford admitted to having two alcoholic drinks when asked by the Trooper and agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which he did poorly on. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
