30-year-old Brandon Fletcher was jailed Sunday morning after police responded to a suspicious vehicle at the Shell gas station on Long Hollow Pike. Officers approached a gray Ram pickup truck parked on the side of the building, not in a parking slot. The officer walked up to the driver’s side and found Fletcher asleep in the driver’s seat with the key in the ignition. After several knocks on the window, he finally woke up. Officers asked Fletcher to roll down the window or unlock the door. After a few minutes of looking around, he started to reach for his handgun under his leg. The officer opened the door, took the gun, pulled Fletcher out of the truck, and immediately placed him into handcuffs. He was visibly drunk and disoriented. He admitted to having one beer. Mr. Fletcher was not asked to perform sobriety tests due to the fact that he may have fallen and hurt himself.
