DUI: Caleb Smith says he crashed after drinking at company party before driving

Metro Nashville Police say 34-year-old Caleb A. Shrum was the at-fault driver in a crash at Southlake Drive & Southlake Court late Thursday night after he crossed the center line and drove head-on into another vehicle. He reportedly reeked of alcohol and had obvious signs of intoxication. He admitted to drinking at a company party a few hours prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.172% BAC on a breathalyzer.

Harold Spicer charged with DUI on NYE after drinking shots of Fireball Whisky

52-year-old Harold Spicer put his car in reverse on I-65N on New Year’s Eve and backed into a concrete barrier. An off-duty detective happened to also be on the interstate and witnessed the unusual behavior. First responders say Spicer was found asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle and was visibly intoxicated. Spicer, who had urinated on himself, admitted to drinking three shots of Fireball whisky prior to driving.

Anthony Rizzo charged with 3 a.m. DUI on New Year’s day in Belle Meade

23-year-old Anthony Joseph Rizzo was pulled over by Belle Meade Police Officer Hayley Doty for displaying expired tags/registration at 3:14 a.m. on January 1st. He reportedly appeared intoxicated and stated he consumed alcohol earlier in the day and was currently coming from downtown Nashville. Rizzo performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and was transported to Metro General for a blood draw and then to booking where he was charged with DUI.

DUI: Beverly Cosgrove says she’s the “most drunk I’ve ever been in my life!”

Police say 67-year-old Beverly Cosgrove was involved in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Matilda St. & Marydale Dr., where she ended up stuck in a steep ditch. Ethan Myers came to assist Cosgrove out of her vehicle. She told him she had been out drinking with friends and was the “most drunk I’ve ever been in my life!” She later stated she had two glasses of wine at a Hendersonville restaurant. Cosgrove performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.132% BAC on a breathalyzer.

Alliyah Wright charged with DUI after drinking at Antioch bar

21-year-old Alliyah Wright told police she only had “a mixed drink” at a Bell Road bar several hours prior to being stopped for weaving while driving just after 1 a.m. on January 1st on Smith Springs Road. Officers say they initiated a traffic stop after she crossed into the center lane multiple times and went from fast to slow speeds. She was reportedly confused and reeked of alcohol. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Wright was transported to booking and charged with DUI.

Hudson Harrell charged with DUI, wants to take more tests, blows double legal limit

Police say 22-year-old Hudson Harrell crashed his 2016 Infiniti Q50 on I-24 in the early hours of Monday morning after drinking in downtown Nashville. He told police he was “unsure” how his car ended up in a ditch but stated he consumed “1-2 drinks” prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and after he was under arrest, he repeatedly asked to take more tests. Once at booking, they granted his wish with a breathalyzer, on which he blew a 0.180% BAC, more than double the legal limit to drive.

Robert Holmes charged with drug possession after DUI crash on Dickerson Pike

30-year-old Robert Holmes crashed his vehicle near Dickerson Pike and Grace Street late Friday night and admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day. Social media posts show Holmes drinking with friends at a restaurant just prior to driving. Responding officers say he smelled of alcohol and had trouble standing and speaking coherently. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Holmes was taken into custody. A subsequent inventory search of his vehicle prior to towing resulted in the seizure of 9.39 grams of marijuana in a Tupperware container.

Parson James (Ashton Parson) charged in 2nd DUI crash this year

31-year-old Sony Music recording artist Ashton Latadre Parson was charged with a DUI in January after crashing into a dumpster behind Checkers in East Nashville. A month later, his attorney, Nick McGregor, got his charges reduced to reckless endangerment, and Parson, who goes by the stage name of ‘Parson James’, received a suspended and probated sentence of 11 months and 29 days. Overnight, Parson was arrested for yet another DUI after he crashed at 17th & Edgehill. He admitted to consuming two glasses of wine and refused a blood test because of taking “medicinal things,” which he later clarified was marijuana. A warrant was obtained for his blood, and a draw was completed before he was transported to booking.

DUI: Laura Cavaliere crashes car, asks police if they have guns to shoot her during drunken disaster

41-year-old Laura Cavaliere was charged with a DUI early Thursday morning after she crashed a vehicle on I-24 and fled to I-65. Police report she was crying and claimed to have trouble with her tire – she did not realize she had been driving on the rim or that the fender trim was scraped off. After noticing an apparent odor of alcohol on her breath, police conducted field sobriety tests, which she performed poorly on at every point, even becoming erratic and defiant, screaming at officers, “I just want to die!” and asking the officers if they had guns to shoot her after they informed her she was being taken into custody. She went on to tell the officers she was an architect, worked for Metro, and was a teacher at TSU. Cavaliere proceeded to verbally abuse the officers and urinate in the squad car on the way to booking.

Jeremy McQuillen, 48 — doing drunken donuts in church parking lot

48-year-old Jeremy Bryan McQuillen was observed doing “donuts” in the parking lot of a church parking lot on Old Hickory Blvd Friday night. The pastor of the church asked him to leave and noticed that he appeared to be intoxicated and called 911. As officers arrived, McQuillen attempted to leave the frozen area of the parking lot and, upon contact, was acting erratically and had multiple signs of intoxication. McQuillen admitted to drinking alcohol, and several open alcohol containers were located inside the vehicle.
