36-year-old David Noland was issued a citation on September 15th when he crashed his 2020 Chevy Suburban and injured himself. When officers arrived, Noland was already loaded into an ambulance and was being transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment. Officers spoke with another involved party in the crash as well as a witness, who both stated that Noland was driving erratically and swerving in and out of lanes. When officers arrived at the hospital, they spoke with EMS, who stated that Noland “bottomed out” in the ambulance and received Narcan, which revived him and is usually an indicator of drug use. Noland could not perform all sobriety tests because he was hooked up to machines and unable to leave the hospital bed. The tests that could be conducted were performed poorly, and a blood sample was taken.
